Norm Macdonald was pretty centrist or even right of center and Conan liked him a lot and had only good things to say about him. I never noticed how strong Conan's Massachusetts accent was in these earlier days. It's not super strong but it's definitely noticeable. I don't hear it at all in clips from a few years later in the timeline.

While we were preparing for our field trip to Chicago in my 2nd year of architecture school, our seminar prof told us that going to Chicago in your 2nd year of school is the equivalent of a secret handshake amongst architects. The only US city that comes close is Philadelphia and its suburbs.
I love Conan . I wanted to see him live on his show..was ready to come all the way from India but i read that he is ending his show next year. Guess that aint working out because of covid. The Lincoln Restaurant closed in 2013. In 2016 it was demolished. Google Streetview shows pics up to 2021. It was a vacant lot with chain la ink fence along the sidewalk (bordered by buildings to its right and left). A new 5-story building was contstructed on the lot in 2023 with retail on the ground floor (currently for lease). The building has a retro look. There is an AT&T store to its left and a Starbucks across the street.
