- These are the top 15 theme songs for different networks' coverage of pro sports. They include MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, and NCAA sports themes on various sports networks. You don't have to agree with my rankings. Let me know below what you think and if I missed any.

It's epic, maybe a little too epic for some people but it's one of the only themes I can think of being played during a battle.
NHL on NBC is top five for me especially during playoffs it just has that feeling of playoff hockey. Get chills

i don’t watch hockey like at all during the regular season but playoff hockey is a must watch especially if my sharks are in the playoffs
Playoff hockey is hands down the best things in sports. College football is a close 2nd tho.

No MLB theme will ever top the MLB on FOX theme from 96-09. Personally, I would say no sports theme would top it, but, that's just me.

Fox absolutely needs to bring back the baseball theme. No idea why they decided to use the football theme as a generic catch all.

@@duffal0 I think MLB on Fox used to play in the early 2010s and I was pissed when they got rid of Fox Sports Network for Bally Sports but I quickly got used to it, I like the scores being directly at the bottom without potentially blocking anything

That's one of the best and the longest since 87 I think. It was originally the CBS NFL theme.

Hearing is one of the stronger senses that brings back a memory, smelling is too, like getting a whiff of something from your childhood it’ll bring back so many memories

College Basketball on ESPN 2011-2016 was always my favorite. Whenever it was the conference tournaments, it was awesome to hear that theme for the Horizon League conference championship.

The fact that the classic MNF theme is not on here is not only a travesty, but shows just how in the moment we have become. Sure, some great themes on here, but the cold, piano intro of MNF was a fixture for decades! I love it when they break it out still today!

CBS College Football is CLEARLY #1 (and then CBS college basketball or ESPN college football a distant second).
As far as pump up factor; CBS college football theme is on par with "Eye of the Tiger".

Since you didn’t limit yourself to current themes, I’d bump the bottom few for the NBA on NBC (#1), NHL on ESPN (#6), the second-to-most recent NFL on CBS theme (#12), and the ABC College Football theme (the “Marching Band” version that was also used for Basketball) (#15).

10. Monday Night Football
The most iconic theme song in all of North American sports. Fight me on this one if you'd like, but I think it deserves a mention.
9. Hockey Night In Canada (2014-present)
Yeah, I'm a Canadian. We have some really good sports songs north of the border.
8. NHL on NBC
This one can get you really pumped. Excellent song for hockey broadcasts.
7. NFL on CBS (1991-93, 1998-2003)
I love the opening part of this song. Sadly, no good recordings of this seem to exist.
6. FOX NFL
This song just screams football. It's been going strong for 25 years, and will likely keep going forever.
5. NBA on NBC
UrinatingTree introduced me to this wonderful song. While I'm not so keen to put Roundball Rock any higher, I understand why so many people love it to death.
4. Thursday Night Football (2009-13)
I miss the Christmas bells and epic orchestration of this one. NFLN still uses it occasionally for a few of their programs, but I feel that they need to make this the theme of TNF again.
3. ESPN Sunday Night NFL (mid-1990's)
Best NFL theme of them all. How this one didn't make it into this video baffles me.
2. FOX MLB (1996-2010 for national broadcasts, still used for team-specific broadcasts)
Why the hell did FOX replace this with the NFL theme? As much as I love the FOX NFL song, this fits baseball better and is actually a better song in general.
1. CBS College Football/SEC on CBS
This, right here, is the pinnacle of sports themes. I love it to death, and I don't even watch collegiate sports.
A few left out, NBA on NBC, NHL on FOX, NBA on FSN (2 versions)

The NBA on NBC theme by John Tesh is the best of all time and it’s not even close. Some good choices on this list for sure, but without the best this list is too flawed to be valid.
My favorite is the Thursday Night Football NFL theme. It sounds elegant, extreme and epic at the same time somehow.
You can also imagine some video highlights and a commentator jntro over it
MLB on Fox brought back this cool version! Not copying off NFL anymore.
Jon Miller/Joe Morgan Sunday Night Baseball 2000s, ESPN College basketball 2000s, college basketball on CBS, NBA Finals on ABC, MLB on TBS are my favorites.

Nba on espn reminds me of the 2016 nba finals when cavs came back from 3-1 those were the days
the MLB on Fox theme is back in 2020, also that theme was also used between 2009 and 2020 on Fox Sports Regional Networks such as Fox Sports Kansas City
