I had no clue who Queensryche was when I saw them open for Kiss in Bakersfield CA. They opened with 'Nightrider' and finished with 'Take Hold'. It was truly the most mind-blowing set in my 62 years of living! 🎵
First time I heard this jam, I knew I had to try to sing this. Geoff has that special tone when getting the high vocal range, and the first time I saw them in concert, I was blown away. A great memory, thank you.
I were on Geoff Tate concert last week and he managed to sing this song with no vocal feedback or other crap. He singed it with his real voice at age of 64 and it were almost like he were 23 again. Geoff's true live voice came back last 1-2 years.
The guy to my left at the Atlanta show was pulling up the set list on his phone and mused “It will be interesting to see if he can sing those high notes”. Yes, yes he did
@@nomolosbor Yes. Geoff said this week it's okay for others to use vocal effects... Geoff used that on 2019 concert i were on, but not in 2023. La Torre in Queensryche use vocal effects all the time live.
He sings this tuned a whole step down now, same with most of the songs. Don't get me wrong, he's improved a lot recently, but it's not the same as back in the day
Most underrated band on planet Earth and beyond. They had everything: playing skills, songs and, last but not the least, one of the most incredible singers. After we saw them playing in Italy a friend of mine commented "they are just too good".
The Queensryche show(s) in Japan on this tour are incredible and the concert video of Quensryche and Geoff Tate on this tour in Japan 1985 is a glorious jewel! It was so rare for any good concert footage in the the glory days of metal in the '80's and this is a testament to how glorious Queensryche and Geoff Tate was in is his prime! All hail the Queen of the Ryche!! 😎🤘
I remember when my buddy got the bootleg of Queensryche the album....we were into all metal like Dio, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Judas priest....etc .... Queensryche was a band that really set a bench mark.
GOAAAWT DAMN!! WHAT AN ICONIC WAR CRY! I say to you as stand and raise my arm with magical spirit fingers into a fist.💪 🔥♥I just love you Geoff Tate. You are of the very very finest metal vocalists of all time! Legendary .
It’s a shame all these guys are alive & healthy and still can’t put their differences aside and give us ONE MORE ALBUM & Just one more show🙏Us OG’s would fly anywhere to see that one!! Btw welcome back ✌🏼
Too bad over half of the band turned on one another. God bless Chris and Scott for being adults. I love Ed and Mike but they did Scott dirty. Geoff is far beyond shitty for the stuff he’s done but still a good singer.
I honestly would be happy only to see Chris coming back for one more with Tate and Wilton. It's been over 20 years and I still hope to wake up and see the headline that Chris Degarmo would come back to Queensryche.
@@daviddaniel3996 He tried making Queensryche his band. He allegedly has spit on fans, beat up fellow band members in the dressing rooms. Yelled at aforementioned band members. Complained that Queensryche was a metal band. Amongst other things.

#48👍🏻 🎶🥁🎸🎤👀👂🏽🎶 Queensryche music is embedded in my DNA. Been a fan since my first exposure back in 1984 in Orange County, CA. That would have been my Junior year summer vacation in HS. Hear [sic] I am enjoying it all over again like my raging testosterone teen self of yesteryear. TFS
Yes amazing. I don’t think this was edited. I saw them open for Metallica in 89 and they opened with this song and the entire crowd was blown away. Chris DeGarmo had a big part in the backing vocals as well.
When I was about 11, and before I got deep into alternative and grunge, I was obsessed with Queensryche. It kinda fit with the 80’s hard rock bands at the time but it also sounded like Maiden and Priest, and some songs sounded like metal Pink Floyd. They also sang about stuff that wasn’t customary at the time like fascism, domestic abuse, family issues…it was definitely a band ahead of their time. One of the greatest and most underrated bands in the planet.
I met these guys at a KMET Rock n Bowl in Canoga Park in the mid 80s. I still have the album with a white blank label stamp Queensryche along with an autographed poster.
Thanks for the re-upload! Was fortunate to be front row for Mindcrime 1 and 2. Watched them open for Def Lepard in the round years ago. Still have the vhs of this tour in Tokyo.
This is such raw energy like this is the equivalent of witnessing a cosmic event.man did we not know what we had,i remember me and my friends made fun of this once upon a time and now i see it as absolute power.
Due to my "healthy obsession (or is that passion?)" for '80s rock/metal, THIS is "PROOF or CONFIRMATION" that IT'S NOT, or STILL NOT, safe to "move forward" with so-called "modern rock/metal."
Soooo damn good back then, live. I had the pleasure of seeing them on the EP tour open for Twisted Sister. Didn't know anything by QotR. Lady Wore Black BLEW ME THE FUCK AWAY!
Rock n roll in all her forms is one of the things someone can agree by raising your fists and headbanging "yes" without needing to even speak the language.
Incredible vocals lead and backing and the band themselves amazing. Once DeGarmo sadly left they were never quite the same, though Michael Wilton deserves more credit even in todays version of the band!
Grandma took my pops and uncle to see queensryche and gold earrings? Around this time. And myself along with my uncle some 15yrs years later when I was 17-18. It was insane. Bonkers. Queensryche kicked it off with iron maiden following up and fucking Motorhead topping it off.. it was Bonkers . Verizon amphitheatre '02-03.
