It was just so fucking badass how, when the Cyberdemon threw you out into the arena, The Doom Slayer didn't fall over. Instead, you see him clench his fists and keep himself on his feet whilst sliding backwards. The Cyberdemon growls at you, and the first thing you do is pull out your Gauss Rifle as he shoots rockets everywhere and *oh my god this was SO AMAZING.*

Fuck, Mick. After hearing your talk about the "hierarchy" you came up with when composing, I can't NOT hear each element and the obvious reasoning behind it.
Not a single industrial or traditionally metal element in this. Just lumbering, dangerous "Organic" sound with vocals and strings coupled with an assault of aggressive high tech modular synth noise.

I'd like to point out that unlike most Demons the Cyberdemon is the only enemy who doesn't attack the Doomslayer upon seeing him. Instead he hesitates, and inspects the Slayer as if he remembers him...
It's the little things that matter right?
Edit: I'm half tempted to like this comment myself, just to ruin the 666 thing.
This demon was technically braindead too, it was likely waiting for orders from the being controlling it who may have been the one who hesitated *thinking emoji*

@@Llortor the Cyberdemon at the time of the boss fight has fully regained control from the UAC. He was brain dead but soon as the UAC flipped the switch he instantly overrides all their failsafe and completely fucks shit up until it's lured into his holding pen

It’s the only demon that rushed to initiate the fight by grabbing the slayer and throwing him across the room.
When I first saw the Cyberdemon in this version, I got the same fear and goosebumps I did when I was 5, playing my Dads copies of Classic Doom . And the music gave me an adrenaline rush through the whole boss.

It's a nice idea, but even now, the two Demons wouldn't cooperate, even if it were to tag-team up against the Doom Slayer. The Spider Mastermind is the rightful ruler of Hell, and the Cyberdemon is Hell's mightiest warrior. They've been battling for supremacy for millennia... even in Doom 95 it says that.

This song is less intense than other tracks, the ambient sounds and slow pace makes it feel like doomguy is a bit afraid, but we all know how the boss fight ends

This has to be the actual best song of Mick Gordon.
I’m a Damnation guy myself but this song has definitely grown on me. It’s not as over the top as the others but I appreciate its restraint. It feels focused and methodical like the slayers actually giving a shit in this fight since it’s (thematically) one of the demons that actually can compete with the slayer.

3:20 is fucking unhinged, like talk about insanity in music. I like to think this plays when fighting the Cyberdemon, the demons of hell initially are rooting for him but as you continue to whoop his ass, they change and start root for you, like a gladiator fight
Probably my favorite boss track in the game. Hearing this and E2M8 back to back honestly feels like they blend together perfectly - this track and the slow beginning of E2M8 have such similar time signatures that they would sync up well

When I first played doom 2016, it was about three months ago after I finished eternal. I had just gotten into the franchise, and I heard many good things about this big boi. When the time came when I eventually fought it, all my research into dooms lore made me so excited and it finally paid off...
So fun.
I think this was the only time I actually got scared playing doom, I was not expecting him to yank we through the door like that😂

3 years later, 2016's Cyberdemon was the original Cyberdemon from the Classic Doom games if I can remember, the UAC rebuilt him and originally was going to attach the BFG-9000 onto him but the Player got that before they could do that
