Industrial glitch terror metal. Just the thing Doom needs.
bluephreakr just....Techno-Metal
Daniel Cannata i think glitch metal is more appropriate
I'm liking the "Industrial glitch terror metal" description.
You guys know there's such a thing as Doom metal...(pun very much intended)
@icebrand music the sludge is real with some of these songs
6:15 to the end deserves its own song
It is already a doom 3 par song
Pure Testosterone look up Doom (2016) OST Gore nest and it’s literally that riff for 3 minutes
@@sladev8582 Wait... you're right! i didn't even notice how similar they were
Doom 3's Main Theme sounds close enough

I can honestly say that musical cues in the soundtrack and the way music explodes during the battles hypes-the games into the stratosphere. Rarely does the music completely elevate the game, but this one truly does. Doom wouldn't be the same at all without the music. The bar has been raised.
Not so much raised, as obliterated into 10 000 splinters with a double barrel shotgun and then stomped into the ground by the Slayer's boot! And one of the few game soundtracks that I know of, that completely works as a stand-alone product without the gameplay to anchor it.
First soundtrack this good since ocarina of time
Shits so high sucks had to say stratosphere.
They made a special system where the music goes with the action. instead of playing the full theme it cuts it, goes back, adds intersections and does a build-up on after a glory kill
@@aszher also when you move left, right, forward and back the music changes
Hey Mick, did you actually get to meet John Romero?
I met him randomly on the street in San Francisco once and proceeded to embarrass myself to the fullest extent.
Mick Gordon did you fanboy?
@@MickGordon tbh i would too
@@MickGordon Ngl you're music has made me enjoy DOOM 2016 and Eternal so much more because I sometimes would rage at certain sections but hearing you're music for DOOM makes me want to keep playing so I could listen to it more.
Mick Gordon always loved your work and always will, you do god’s work.
“flesh and metal” has been the aesthetic to doom from the very first game. Demons, gore, and futuristic space stations and sci-fi weapons. Mick Gordon perfectly balanced heavy metal and industrial sounds to compliment it.
This guy is an absolute genius
well said.

The way you made a guitar distortion of 93’ chainsaw sound... you’re pure genious!
Also DOOM soundtrack gibes 400% more power while heavy lifting, I strongly reccomend it.
ok
Yes
@@unitedstates4105 the entire "guitar" section was either heavily inspired by a chainsaw or was ACTUALLY a chainsaw, not sure. But I wouldn't put it under Mick, seeing as he literally used a lawnmower he heard in his backyard for one of his songs in Eternal
Ha I see what you did there
genius
3:45 might be the most insane moment on the whole ost
its 3:37
And 1:09
id: no guitars allowed
mick: reinvents the guitar out of chainsaws and synths
Haha chainsaw go vrrrr
3:45 just gets me every time
Yep
Yep
If the song would just rip and roar instead of small snippets and then cut offs. Dont get me wrong i love it but everytime i get into it the metal stops.
Listen to Marauda. You'll enjoy it probably.
2:40 GOD THAT DROP IS SO GOOD
YES, and the part that comes after it is B R U T A L
i honestly dont think ive ever heard music so supremely savage.

Mick Gordan is to Doom as Marty O'Donnell is to Halo
Fucking agreed
Patrick M. Blanchard fair comment... Can't disagree with that one iota
@Arick A4 Uhh this is not a debate you wanted to get started on. Trust me. Especially when they are two different games with different styles.
I can confirm
Fucking Amen.
If there's ever a Dead Space remake, please make the soundtrack Mick!!
YEEESSSS
Oh god, imagine actually being badass in Dead Space, not just crying over your dead girlfriend and jump off a chair from jumpscares.
*Dommguy pushes Isaac aside* Let a real badass take this one, sissi *queue Mickdustrial and see Necromorphs running away in fear*
that would be awesome
Dead Space would be a really short game with Doomguy as the main character.
it used to be in the DOOM series that you failed as a player if you didn't produce insane action to overcome the demons. Now it is a failure if you don't live up to the damn music score!
*Meanwhile in Hell*
Imp: Where's that strange sound coming from?
Hell Knight: You hear that too, right?
Imp: Yeah, and for some reason, it makes me want to throw my head up and down violently.
Hell Knight: And it seems to be getting louder...
(Distant shotgun blasts)
Hell Knight: What was that bro?
Imp: I don't know, but i can't stop headbanging!
Baron of Hell: Wait, is that the Doo-
*vaporised by BFG*
its the Doot
Pinky: *demonic roaring* (translation: what was that sound)
Pinky, now with no skin: AAAAAAAA
I would make this conversation an animation... but i dont know how to do one
Its any wsay a GREAT IDEA
This deserves a comic
Looks like Slayer actually has some competition now, for "hell's soundtrack".
Nah, most Black Metal bands are "Hell's Soundtrack".
This is the "making all of hell itself your bitch" soundtrack.
lol this game literally has hell's soundtrack
2:09 Extra life acquired
Flesh and Metal sounds like Mick Gordon took little left over pieces of Skullhacker and Harbinger, got drunk, and then combined to make what sounds like what I'd imagine the Doom Slayer having a seizure would sound like, and it's fucking fantastic.
Also, the guitar hits almost as hard as the fact that Mick Gordon will not be making any more Doom OSTs. Almost.
I like to imagine this is what the doom slayer had playing in his head as soon as he saw daisy was dead
Bethesda made a nice game to complement your music Mick :D
Valetz its the other way around but Bethesda didn't make it
It was I’d software that made the game Bethesda is the publisher/fundraising company to make doom
Bethesda made this one, maybe some unnamed developers,
I
He was making a joke.
Valetz it’s not Bethesda’s game, it’s ID softwares game...
1:09 smooth and ANGRY the same time luv it
1:09 Best Thing I've ever heard in my life
Leo Agreed mate. One does not simply listen to that part without headbanging.
Some of the angriest music I've ever heard!
I agree 100%
I'll let my profile pic, express my feelings about Mick's work
Resu now that you changed it. it looks so weird
So...skeptical?
2 years later and it's still a thumbs up. That's commitment yo.
Me too

I must admit Mick, without you and your work on the soundtrack, Doom would loose 50% of it's coolness.
Edit: it's a 4 years old comment, I was wrong, I GET IT stop commetning for stating the obvious. Thank you.
Geekreg i m always thought as u that good music is 50% of game example halo 3, doom... add good music and game is instantly better
in a well made game, a good soundtrack is a huge bonus (like in Doom) but a good ost is worth crap is the game is bad. just see 80+% of star wars games. best ost ever (those by williams) but if the game sucks...
Mick Gordon + Doom is a match made in heaven. well, more like hell :D
this didn't age well :(
CampsideKiller How?
@@phoenixslayer6067 he is no longer going to be the composer of the next DOOM game.

Also probally cause of all of the weird little frequencies and things in it
Patrick: Is chainsaw an instrument?
Squidward: No patrick, chainsaw is not an instument

Unpopular opinion, but this is the best track in the game. Mick, you are a genius.
It doesn't need to be popular if it's true
theres no best track all of them are fucking metal
While I respectfully disagree (LOVE Rip & Tear) I wouldn't call that opinion "unpopular."
Unpopular, but ultimately correct
The hellguard theme is the goat for working out, the rust dust n guts aswell as flesh and metal is just pure rage inducing destruction stimulating drug
This guy makes the best metal I have EVER heard. Period.

3:07 berserk power-up!
In doom, they should make a gun that just blasts this amazing beat. It would be more deadly than the BFG.
The DoomStep Gun
To demons it would make doomguy go berserk
Check out "BPM: Bullets Per Minute" sometime!
Thanks for contributing to the rebirthing of doom
Gordon, You've really outdone yourself in this game. Congrats.
My kids introduced me to this music In a car ride. I've been hooked ever since. Turn up full volume
As good as Eternal's music, I will always love 2016's soundtrack, it's just more brutally headbanging
By a LOT as well
Most of Eternal's tracks aren't mixed by Mick, he has only made the general sounds I believe
@@Breakaway-ic5gj I know that, I just like 2016 more (mostly, Meathook and The Only Thing They Fear Is You kick demon ass)
@@Breakaway-ic5gj the ones he mixed go astronomically hard, makes me very sad he didn't get to them all
Nah Eternal music is better overall. More catchy, more guitar usage and more enjoyable to listen to as an overall soundtrack. Nekravol or Hell on Earth ost is more brutal than anything in 2016. The problem is Mick didn't get a chance to mix the entire soundtrack properly.
6:12 holy damn
1:30 this is my personal favorite because I could just imagine the doom guy entering a room and just screaming with a vengeance to mesh flesh with metal!!!! ^_^
6:25 drop of the century

Nah, I’m in bed right now with Earphones on, and I feel oddly at peace...
Probably because I know that Doom Guy is killing billions of Demons while this music is playing.

The only constant in these songs is the anger and violence, the rest is chaotic just like the battlefield. These songs perfectly describe the game. Mick is a genius.

Something that I like about Mick Gordon's Doom soundtracks is that he use many different noices and instruments to just keep the vibe. Also what I do know is that the Doom soundtracks often drop then come back unexpectedly which really makes it what it is. So nice job Mick Gordon.
The end climaxes to each of these official tracks are so damn good man. They just go hard as hell
