  • This has got to be the best class 66 thrash video ever! Thrashing out of Bristol Temple Meads on a FHH coal train, it sounds like jet airplane is taking off and getting faster on the runway. Enjoy!

This is a nice clip, I know the wagons are empty but it's still nice to listen to the power of the locomotive as it moves the train away, many thanks for posting it

    Massively underated.
Try hitting full throttle like that with a pair of 37's or even a grid, it would be farting, slipping and yelping like a bastard past the platform whilst the 66 was long gone!
    And people slag these off!
Get a grip FFS. This is why 66's are here and here to stay!

Agreed. As much as a good thrash is visually impressive, noise and smoke is just energy not being directed at the railhead. Like Deltics farting out unburnt diesel.

The 2 strokes sound awesome. You need to hear the un silenced
V16's of these they have in the states. They sound more impressive than anything we have here. Its a fine engine, always has been.

Those freightliner drivers do like to do the horn. I got a 2 tone from a 66 a few weeks ago

Terrific pulling power these locomotives have; all thanks to technology that was not around in the good old days of British built engines. I love the way it sounds like a spin dryer on steroids!

If this was filmed by RUclips uploader Jamie Douglas, he'd say it was a struggling Class 66! Of course he'd be wrong!

It has just shy of 2000 tons behind it, what do you expect FFS? LOL.
With a freight of that length and weight, you know its bloody on there no matter what loco you have on the front!

I agree. As far as a video goes it wasn't bad, thanks to Josh Webb for uploading. But as far as the title goes, it was a fabric of Josh's imagination and as you said, total click bait also thumbed down for that reason!
