  • Hello and thank you for watching this video.
    in this video I show how i Quote my job.
    Normally I do have a note pad or my iPad to take down notes but for this job I used the video as a reference. I do quote other jobs in other ways but this is how I quote The majority of my jobs.

    Love the videos mate. Planning on starting my own business soon and stuff like taxes and claiming VAT back from tools etc would be handy to see in your videos! Keep the content coming mate 👍

    Thanks for this vid mate, just starting out self employed. how do you work out labour costs? Do you set an hourly rate and work from there or try and quote to a day rate etc.

    Thought you made £300 a day? Personally always put at least 20% on materials

      that’s what i try to make £200minimum average £250 - £300 a day

      People who do that are snakes. Anyone who has pride in their work shows receipts to the client

      @@DRAINTVofficial I disagree. No business buys and sells something for the same price. You wouldn’t go into Tesco and demand to see the price they bought the product for. It has no effect on the pride or quality of my work

      @@RickTVification you're providing a labour service. No product delivery. Your main goal is to deliver a service.

      @@DRAINTVofficial a labour service would be something like a gardener who doesn’t supply any materials, or a labourer on building site. Carpenters’ supply product and labour. They make money on the labour, and also have to make money on the product too. Any business that supplies product charges a markup. If you’re showing the client your receipts, good for you, but you won’t be in business that long

      I would hope so. That mark up covers the time and fuel sourcing them and will also allow for warranty issues. . Im a spark.and i charge markup on all materials if i supply them

      i tried a lot of different trades and i just took to carpentry best and i’m glad i did because i love it aha

    Put a margin on your jobs mate, you’re running a business, and why do businesses exist? To turn a profit.
    At least 20% on top, we have a limited lifespan on the tools, make money when you can.
