I use similar to measure, yet I use a 3D construction program called PlusSpec that draws the project and does a BOQ from the drawing. The benefit is I can see "what and how" and solve hidden issues in construction and show the client. This allows me to charge for the quote. Essentially I build the project before I build it and the software quantifies, creates a quote and sends the quote abs purchase orders to Zero.

I've been working as a Carpenter for nearly 20yrs off and on, I'm 37yo now and starting to be more independent. I am struggling with getting my quotes in on time. I am used of doing the hands on work, but having to start with these quotes is discouraging to me. I hope to learn from this video.

There’s definitely better ways to about quoting but you need to pay for it and no option is very affordable. Can save you a lot of time tho.

Nice one mate. But definitely should be ditching the free quotes mantra. Your time is money. Have a listen to the Construction Leading Edge Podcast by Todd Dawalt. He changed my way of thinking and I listen to him when I’m on the road or working on my own. Thanks to him free quotes are a thing of the past for me

      Hey Simon. Cheers legend.
Thanks for the tip. Been listening to his podcasts all morning. It's good stuff, I like hearing other people's takes.
Any episodes in particular you recommend?

What notes app is that? Will the apple one function the same?

      This one is Samsung notes.
Apple would definitely have something similar. If anything, I'd say you'd have more options using Apple. They are really good at syncing between devices and generally have better apps than Android. 🤙
