I knew almost all of these 'hacks'; however, I learned them from my great-grandmother who did her best to keep my grandfather and the rest of her family fed during the Great Depression. Also, my maternal grandmother taught me alot - she was the WWII generation. My boomer mother didn't use these household hints as her generation flourished in the post-war years with plastic conveniences and the start of the disposable culture. The "toothpaste on headlights" hack would be too new to have started in the Boomer age. I'm GenX and my >1990 cars all had glass headlights (some could even be replaced easily after buying whole universal units, not just the bulb).
I am a Babyboomer and never heard of the banana peel cleaning leather shoes -eeew yuk. But most of these hacks are excellent and you can use them today. ☮️💟
The onion trick with spoon... He said the metal draws those fumes toward the metal.... So let's just put it in our mouths so the fumes are down right to our face... Makes sense.... NOT. Altho I've not tried, I guess it could for some strange reason
Sweet onions are the best. The only time they make you cry is when you run out of them.😢
