Thank you for this, truly. I am currently struggling a lot in life, and I have prayers yet to be answered. Demons clutch to body, and I wish to find peace. This song is now the turning point. My mantra, the pinacol, and a reflection of the life I will no longer vicariously live. This song is sacred to me but is willing to be trudged through some dark days ahead. My grandfather was killed in this war in this same year 1917. I have a photo of him and my grandmother on their wedding day, both young and beautiful, unaware of what was to come. In the 1960s she told me once she still missed him. Thank you for posting this and for your comments.
