@@okzitscool 😂 Im a nearly retired 65 yo don’t listen to me mate I love the new BT50s and DMax well done with your purchase it will give you years of safe awesome driving👍
The guy says that the engine makes a lot of noise but doesn't go very fast. I saw a drag race on you tube. The vw amarok v6 went first. It was expected but the bt50 came 2nd between all the rangers , triton, novara, hilux etc. I would like to have an explanation for that.
I've had one for about 6-7 months and it's a good solid ute, I previously had a 2015 bt50 and I definitely notice the power difference. But the new model definitely handles better than the older models. I was following a mate in his hilux work ute then later in his personal triton and he was trying to leave me behind on some back country twistys and he had no chance, I could hear his tyres howling and my new bt50 was cruising through the same coners with ease 👌
@@williambuschmann1708 it's more or less the same around town but you definitely notice the power drop on the open road, bit the new bt50 is much much nicer to drive and handles good loaded or empty
In real world drag races, short and long, the DMAX/BT-50 3.0 is faster than everything else, except the Amarok 3.0 v6. The hilux, navara and triton finished way behind. The videos are available just search bt-50 drag race. They also did another one in Malaysia and the results were the same.
If I could afford one, I would definitely be buying one. Also, the quality of your videos has really improved. I only just noticed it on this video, and was always wanting to offer help to film from different camera angles. Well done.
Really enjoyed this review. Good mix of contagious excitement, healthy criticism and staying properly neutral throughout. Also, despite me watching tonnes of videos of the bt50 I still had no clue about the diesel particulate filter so thanks for that as well!
The twisties... I once was following a 2t Budget truck down the Black Spur and I could not believe my eyes. I was giving it almost full gas and they were comfortably keeping pace ahead of me. Whoever was driving this Budget truck deserves a medal because I would not have believed a 2t rental truck could corner as well as this person was clearly capable of! Totally unrelated to the video but the commentary on the cornering just rung a bell for me :)
I noticed you commented on the power a lot and its common for Isuzu to under tune their engines but once tuned they make heaps more power (around 200-250hp, 700nm range) more so than other utes when tuned and still keep a fair amount of reliability unlike basically every other car manufacturer
Great Video been looking for the last few weeks for a replacement for my 1999 Nissan Patrol GU done 566768 km . Looked at a lot of vehicles. And today bought a BT50 GT, like you video was so impressed with the finish and the mechanical side of things. Will be interesting to see how many km this unit will do. Keep up the great videos they are very helpful. Cheers
So the D-Max is selling out with a 12-month wait, and people don’t like the BT-50? Just so bizarre. It’s the same ute with an arguably better interior. Plus it’s available within a month or two wait. Plus it has WAY more genuine accessory options (2nd battery, 12v outlet, wireless charging, etc etc) So what’s wrong with it? P
I love it great speech on it to spot on. This is my first Ute and 100 percent recommend however i did go the top of the line but its mostly aesthetics but you get a lot of extras if you have the money the thunder is awesome has everything you would want. And it is a beautiful driver it feels like driving my kia optima with a tub on the back yes very refined also on trip so comfortable and great on fuel, also agree with the engine for me the ponies are touch less for me but still great driving, however get it on some sand and do some beach driving and some rough climbing and what a absolute lazy mans 4wd just eats up the track it loves 4wdriving highly recommend getting on the beach. Also they do look great I went with the rock grey and its a head turner people always commenting how nice she is so you will get some complements. All in all good buy. Also Mrs wants it and now the in-laws want one that's saying something.
Good onya Matt enjoy your reviews Im looking at getting a new dual cab toward the end of this year or into the new year I would like to see you review the GWM Cannon X cheers mate
Good and funny review. You have a very comical approach to your review yet still professional. I therefore find this very creative actually, and very entertaining, really good review overall, you are going to go places in the informative/entertainment industry I feel. Please remember this comment so when you become rich you can buy me a nice car (150k+) for commending you here first.
Should have waited a few minutes, you just answered lol. No one died when the bus load of Chinese tourists ran into the side of a train a few years back, btw!
I don't understand that along with all this "tech" gadgetry Isuzu/Mazda don't have the vehicle come with a simple ON/OFF switch on the dash then driver can choose at will whether he/she wants all that BS or not and don't have to go through a menu every time they turn the key. Having a selector switch fitted at the factory would add near zilch to the price but Mazda/Isuzu would sell a lot more cars.
@@ryanhoffschildt2912 Hello, the lane keeper cancel button was not introduced until 2022 and can be retrofitted to earlier builds, that one change saw a jump in sales. I have a late 23, excellent ute so far.

@@markhoebergen8744 Thanks for sharing, so you traded it in? What are you driving now and how does it compare? I'm still considering the BT-50, I wont be towing anything, is the ride comfort ok? (for the 3.0 model).
I just found it really dangerous , the lane assist nearly put me into a cyclist , it brakes really hard that sort of lane assist i dont need i did 15000 km s in it , the seating in back isnt good either , the ranger suit me best ,so went back for the 3rd one which im happy with , as i do a fair bit of towing
@@markhoebergen8744 Thanks for sharing, don't think i'll go for the ranger though, me and my friends have owned fords before, including one who's a mechanic, the reliability is a serious issue lol. The bt50 3.0 here doesn't come with lane keeping assist, only the warning. I think i'll still go for the mazda for the Japanese reliability, and for the engine, it's really fast off the line without drama and can drift quite easily haha. Cheers mate, all the best.
Why is all the leather “so unnecessary” to you, country people who buy these vehicles like comfort too you know, and you of all people should no this, just saying
The toyota is garbage in comparison. Bad ride, and although they claim more power, its actually one of the slowest in drag races vs everything else. The only thing better is resale value, people who are worried about money would like that.
What do you think of the Mazda BT-50?!
All the safety beeps are abit of a turnoff but it does look like a good retirement vehicle
