Hi 👋 I’m an Audi TT mk1 225 owner. Love that you’re working on one and updating. Mine is a 2000 and has needed a lot of work, but still needs much more.
I’ve put on lowering springs, forge diverted valve and K&n induction kit as well as several mechanical issues and a new timing belt. My next upgrade will be a milltek exhaust, but a complete system & manifold.
I have found the TT to be a bit fragile electrically. Have had the lcd displays re done and had the usual Christmas lights in the dash 😊 have got an esp light up (think it’s the sensor under the seat).

For a cheap degreaser it does a great job on the dirt inside the car as well.
I totally agree with your desire to be creative. It’s so easy to just be that sheep who throws the mods on which everyone else does -> boring 😴 Myself, I had my body shop custom fabricate a big boy RS6 grill into the bumper - it looked stunning, and was truly one of a kind. I also fabricated LED running lights into the headlight housing, and did all the electronics to incorporate indicators too. Did a similar thing for the side mirrors, setting the MkII LEDs into the MkI housing. Keep me busy for weeks lol
So impressed by your emphasis on creativity. I'd be interested in your views on ways to *improve* the TT, not just to make a few random bits look shiny...eg catchcan? exhaust? best tuning mods...

a company called wicked coating can dip your interior or exterior trim in what ever you like from carbon fibre to snake skin
After spraying degreaser agitate with brush I used a cheap kitchen dish brush on tough dirty parts and paint brush in delicate bits you will get better results

I am 100% with you on the £££ side of modifying. to me its about original ideas not money. time and hands on, make it don't buy it get a secondhand part from another car and make it fit your car. i'm doing a VWT5 and don't want to spend money I don't have. slowly carefully and thinking outside the box. It will be what I need, not a copy of one from a catalogue. keep up the great work. ;)
