The question for those who deny God's sovereignty in election, must be why are you not telling every person you meet....the Gospel message? Because if they are only waiting for you to offer Jesus Christ to them, and you fail to do this, then you must be sending them to hell by your laziness or carelessness. Now that would be monstrous!
When I joined a sound church that taught God's sovereignty, and was busier in evangelism than I had ever known, everything fell into place. I believe John MacArthurs words hit the nail on the head, when he said we need to submit to God's word.
Obviously we cannot understand everything God does, but it brings enormous peace to simply accept. Submit.
I would be interested to hear a preacher who does not accept the total sovereignty of Almighty God...refute all the scriptures that Pastor John so faithfully expounded. Disprove them one by one, it cannot be done. Thankyou Pastor John.

Barbara Rehfuss Fekade Senbeta This is an absolutely true message, but Jesus sent me to let you know that to confirm whether you are "called and chosen" is (if) you OBEY (Acts 2:38!) Because if you OBEY (Acts 2:38), then as (Acts 2:39) states, you were CALLED! Because Jesus Christ is God alone! Jesus is the Father of creation, robed in flesh as the Son for redemption, and He alone is the Holy Spirit in action in His church today. (Acts 2:38) is the FULFILLMENT of the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in (Matthew 28:19.) Because (Matthew 28:19) is not the baptismal formula, but rather, it's a "prepositional phrase" (DESCRIBING) the ONE NAME that must be used in the baptismal formula... Which is JESUS CHRIST (according to Acts 2:38!) And remember, as (Acts 2:38) clearly states... Baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ is for the "remission/pardon/forgiveness/washing away of sins!" Please read it! The Kingdom of God is not recognized... It's REVEALED!

It would be nice if one day Calvinists woke up to the doctrine of it's not a doctrine. and stop making doctrines...and just believe in the gospel. What Jesus Christ did, is God was in him doing the work, that passed onto EVERYBODY, made everyone righteous, just as Adam's sin passed onto everyone and death by sin, passed onto everybody.

If he preached the Word the way it is written he wouldn't preach that God only destined some to eternal life. He wouldn't preach that Jesus only died for some, not all. He preaches a completely Pharisaical gospel. The Pharisees believed that they were saved because they were the elect, and everyone else be damned. He completely ignores scripture that contradicts this false gospel. He makes a good argument purely by arguing that men cannot judge God for what He does.
"For God so loved the world (all men) that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
"God desires that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth."
"Because Christ died, all are dead (spiritually)...." (If Christ's death made ALL men dead, then the Calvinist is the only one dead that needs a Savior.)
God did not harden Pharoah's heart. According to the Bible, Pharoah hardened his own heart, and God made a judicial judgement to permanently harden his heart because Pharoah already determined to keep his heart hard. God did not MAKE Pharoah a bad seed. The Bible says that all were made from the same lump, so He didn't make one good and another bad. God is an equal opportunity Savior. The Bible says God ENDURED Pharoah, not MADE him a bad seed.
Israel was chosen, but not all Israel was saved. So, election doesn't mean salvation.
Election and predestination is always used in the plural, not the singular. The doctrine of predestination in the New Testament is always talking about the Predestination of the Church, and the Church was predestined to be of those who put their trust in Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, "When I be lifted up, I will draw ALL men unto me." And, Romans 1 tells us that God has given all men sufficient evidence of Himself and some CHOOSE not to believe and they suppress the truth.
When Jesus said that nobody can come to Him unless the Father calls him, He specifically says the reason He said that is because He "knew who did not believe."
When it comes to Jacob and Esau, the Bible is clear that Esau didn't believe, and God FOREKNEW Esau before he was born.
The Bible says that God predestined to eternal life those He FOREKNEW. God knew ahead of time who would believe and therefore predestined every believer to eternal life.
Three hours of preaching a false gospel, and Macarthur left out all the verses that contradict his false gospel.
Study the character and teachings of the Pharisees and you will find Calvinism replaced them.
I'm afraid that all the praise and trust that people give this man will come back to bite them someday. How can a man with any sense translate the word "all" to mean "the elect." That is what you would normally call delusion.
      Calvinism is a delusion.

My godless father and brother who both died young as unrepentant sinners were never intended to be among God’s people. My mother who is too proud to even consider herself a sinner may not be intended for salvation. My wife and child who have seen the undeniable supernaturally driven change in me are actively seeking God. They are likely among God’s elect. Accept the truth of scripture. Dana Brinkmeier,
'Election and Predestination' is indeed a biblical doctrine because it is
      in the
      scriptures...
However John Calvin failed to understand the entirety of this doctrine....
He had known half of it only and added his own understanding to this
      doctrine
      of 'Election and Predestination'....
So, Calvinism is Truth mixed with Lies and it is more dangerous than
      lies alone....
I have asked several Calvinists this question, which none of them were
      able to
answer, because it was not taught by John Calvin who himself
      did not know the answer....
      My Question :
How did God Choose those whom He will save? Surely God have some
      basis
for His choice.... He did not just pick them at random....
      The Answer is:
Of course God choose His own children...
It is in the scriptures that there are two groups of people in this world,
'The Sheep and the goats' or 'The Wheat and the Tares'....
In the Parable of 'The wheat and Tares', Jesus Himself explained who
      are
these two groups of people, and where did they come from...
The 'Sheep or Wheat' are the true children of God, and they will be saved...
The 'goats or tares' are of the devil and they are damned.....
The Sheep or Wheat are the True children of God not only by creation but
      by HEREDITY....
I CAN PROVE THIS TO YOU IF YOU ARE INTERESTED....
The Sheep inherited the character of God,
The goats inherited the character of the devil.....
After the Fall of Adam and Eve, All the children of God are affected and
inherited the fallen nature of Adam and Eve, they did not inherit the sin
      but the sinful nature....
That's why Jesus came to give His life for ransom to save the Elect....
      (hope this clarifies you)
The elects were fallen and they need to be saved....
There is no OSAS in the scriptures, it is the wrong understanding of
      John Calvin...
All the elect will definitely be saved, not one will be lost....
      John 17:12(KJV)
''While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name: those that
      you
gave me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the
'''son of perdition'''; that the scripture might be fulfilled.''
(the son of perdition is Judas, he is not the child of God, but the son of
      perdition, a goat)
      Example of Goats :
Cain, Judas, some of the pharisees, pharaoh in the time of Moses.
      Example of Sheep :
Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, The apostles except Judas....
      NOTE :
The difference between the Sheep and the goats....
The Sheep though they are in the fallen state, they still love God and
      desire
      to please God,
Not the goats, they don't love God but only their selves...
(all of us are in fallen state; in sinful nature... but some love God and
      desire
to please God, while others don't love God and don't desire to
      please God)
Calvin's TOTAL DEPRAVITY is a false teaching.....
The elect are NOT totally evil, but totally HELPLESS to overcome sin....
That's why we need Jesus Christ to save us, and we need to hear the true
gospel because even though we are chosen, we are not aware of the
gospel of Jesus Christ, unless we hear it from those who were sent to
      preach..
      ..
Look at Cain, he has no respect to God, he faced God with anger and
blamed God for his sin of killing Abel....
      How about John 3:16 ?
      John 3:16(NIV)
''For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
      whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.''
''Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life''==>>Only
      the
Elect will believe because they are the True Children of God and
      Have the character of God....
The goats are of the devil, they hate God and don't have the ability to
      repent...
Look at Judas, he prefer to hang himself than to repent of what he has
      done....
''Go unto all the world and preach the gospel to all creatures''==>>Only
      the

The Early Church fathers who were the successors to the Apostles emphatically denied pre-determinism which was a teaching of their opponents, the Gnostics. For the first three centuries after the Apostles, free will was the mainstream orthodox teaching. Augustine of Hippo was responsible for importing elements of what we know as TULIP into the Church. He did so because, before his conversion, he had been a Gnostic. People assume the TULIP paradigm is Christian because it has been around a long time but ancient error is still error.

My understanding of God's election of us for salvation after reading his Word is that God is all-knowing and has created us with a freewill to put our faith in him for all things. But because of sin we now put our faith in created things which separate us from God. God has sent his Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us if we after hearing the gospel will with a repentant heart accept, believe and put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior. God being all-knowing already knows who will do this and they are his elect. Both before they do it and also after they do it. We are eternally his, Praise His Name.

Your understanding is useless; doesn't matter how many times you read a bible, because your understanding is FLESH! So what good does it do? Do you think these things are fleshly appraised? But if the Spirit came along side and instructed you with holy conviction, then you'd understand rightly. But as it is, you mistakenly think christianity is reading a bible and making a decision. That's a start. But that doesn't complete anything. You cannot even have understanding while you are still an incomplete man apart from Christ. Understanding is a fruit of the Spirit, and fruit cannot be produced unless you are complete in Christ. Try reading the bible with full heartfelt prayer and asking for God's guidance..Your free will phony nonsense is mere religion and nothing else. You have the free will to choose cherry or grape; that's about it. But when it comes to spiritual matters you are blind. You are in bondage to the ruler of this world, and only turning to Jesus lifts the veil over your eyes.

What we need to know about ourselves from God's Word and our only hope of being justified before a Holy and righteous God: [WHY WE HAVE NO HOPE IN OURSELVES: Mk. 7:20-23 And he (Jesus) said, That which comes out of the man, that defiles the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things (sins) come from within, and defile the man.] [WHY WE NEED A SAVIOR: Rom. 3:10-28 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that what things so ever the law says, it says to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his (God's) sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Joh. 3:16 For God so loved the world (us), that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Joh. 14:6 Jesus said to him (us), I am the way (salvation), the truth (assurance), and the life (eternal): no man comes to (God) the Father, but by me (God the Son). See Dr. Ken Wilson's research on the writings of Augustine, to find out why Augustine invented the doctrine now known as "Calvinism" to explain how infants could become the "elect" through water baptism. Since the child had not come to faith, it must be based on the will of another. It could have nothing to do with the will of the child. And now we have those who call themselves "Baptists" promoting Augustine's denial of free will, which was originally invented to justify infant baptism. Leighton Flowers did an excellent interview with Dr. Wilson on the RUclips channel, "Soteriology 101".

I enjoy listening to John MacArther and I know that he has studied his Bible. I have been saved almost 60 years. My Salvation was just as secure the moment I was saved as I am today. I know my Bible as well as anyone when it comes to Salvation. I have witnessed (shared God's Simple plan of Salvation) well over 20,000 times in my lifetime. The Holy Spirit is our teacher. Yes I went to Bible College, but I learned my Bible by introducing people to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of Life, and he that winneth Souls is wise. Proverbs 11:30 KJV and Daniel 12:3 KJV. 2 Corinthians 5:15 And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again. Note, And that He died for "all",.!! All means all, not just the ones that God knew would accept the offer of the free gift of Salvation. John Calvin and Jacobus Armenius were both born during the 1500s or you would say the 16th Century. The Bible was completed within the first 100 years after Jesus Christ and His resurrection. I am a Bible believer. I don't have to follow after men, I have the ability to think for myself. Salvation is Eternal the moment you are Saved. God doesn't give away Everlasting Life and then take it back, that's impossible. Predestination has to do with God's foreknowledge and yes God's Holy Spirit does draw people to His Salvation. This is not complicated. But I am not a follower of Calvin or Armenius, because I am a follower of Christ and of His Blood that He shed on the Cross to pay for my sins and His Death that sealed the deal. He could not have died by natural causes, or by suffocation or any other means, unless He shed His Blood and died. The Blood was the currency used to Satisfy a just and Holy God. His Death was necessary in order to complete the task of redemption. I say to you that it took both the Blood of Christ and His Death to Satisfy God's plan. So many great verses on the Blood. Have you ever read the parable of the sower in the light of election? The principles of God's election is vividly explained there. And we can see that God's election is based not on individual's traits but on his principles. People who would be willing to accept God's gift and persevere through whatever circumstances are elected. Not only are they elected, God intervenes for them whenever it is necessary; to enlighten the truth, and to help them persevere. But never goes beyond their will.

I think it is important to understand that there are strong alternatives to Calvinism, that also believe in election and predestination, but with a different dictionary. Be a good scholar and Berean, seek out the strongest arguments on BOTH sides, pray about it and work it out between you and God.
Just don't go about believing that because the Bible uses words like election, it must mean what MacArthur says it means. Again, there are other options. Hear what other sides say for themselves, not what one side says about them. Not everyone who doesn't believe Calvinism is an Armenian. You've heard what one of the foremost Calvinists of today believes from his own mouth, now go listen to some on the other side, compare and contrast.
Although this issue holds importance, the most important thing is that ultimately we all trust in Christ for our salvation, and thus are the family of God.

Stephen Moody hey there, so while there aren't many resources that don't fall under the usual Calv-Arm camp, a few resources that may help include the book "Determined to Believe" by John Lennox, and the podcast Soteriology 101 by Leighton Flowers has just done a series of some informative 15 minute topical episodes going over different words like elect and predestine, and definitions in and outside of Calv and Arm. (Just fyi he is more "free will" leaning)
While I might be considered more "free will", I don't believe one can lose one's salvation as many Arminians do, and I have some various other differences from them.
Another resource you might find interesting is a book called "Foundations of Augustinian Calvinism" by Dr. Ken Wilson. It's a condensed version of his doctoral thesis at Oxford exploring the origins of deterministic leanings in historical Christianity, very well researched and informative.
Chapter 22 in AW Tozer's "Knowledge of the Holy" discusses sovereignty in a different light than that of Calvinism, and is an interesting read.
CS Lewis also has some very interesting thoughts on free will and predestination at the end of "The Great Divorce".
I hope these help, If I find any more I'll try to post them.
Likewise if there is a resource that may help my understanding of the various sides of this issue you'd recommend, please list it!

It is very interesting because the two sides appear to be in conflict with each other although I believe they are both true at the same time because the scriptures give evidence for both. I believe God knows we have a very strong desire to feel like were directing ourselves even if were aren't. Im not going to judge god because I know his ways are not my ways and I dont know his purpose, I mostly want everybody to have the chance to believe. Im going to have to read some more its an area im just beginning to define. Thanks again

And what are your thoughts on this video in particular? If I’m ever going to change my belief set id have to see this view analyzed and not a view with different definitions. In the Old Testament, on several occasions, God chose a Remnant, an ELECT group who would carry forward His plans: He had to make such a selection because no one sought Him and His righteousness. The Scriptures declare that there is none good, that no one seeks after God, and except that God sovereignly ‘elected’ some for His own purposes, no one would be saved! It is unthinkable that God would deny salvation to anyone that sought Him and His righteousness! So, we need not fret over God’s having elected, decreed that a Remnant would be saved, for had He not done so, no one would be saved! Further more, there is a greater opportunity/chance that others, beside the elect, will be saved, because of the testimony, the observed lifestyles of the elect!

Willing is probably better understood as "desires". However, consider this...God is defined by His attributes. Love, power, omniscience, truth, life, peace, justice...God demonstrates all of these characteristics so that people can trust that He is who He says that He is. We know that God is merciful because He has shown mercy. We know that He is powerful because He has demonstrated power. How does God show He is just? He MUST judge. He has to show that He is just by judging wickedness. If a human judge just let everyone go, we would say that he is a terrible judge. We can tell that one is a righteous judge by seeing their track record of doing according to the law, judging correctly. Man is born on a path to hell and will only continue to do as their broken nature dictates, which is to sin. Only by God's call can a person be saved because nobody seeks for God on their own. Now to us, this seems unfair. It sounds like God doesn't give everybody a chance. However, from God's perspective, it is entirely fair. He is letting people do exactly what they want and they will pay the consequences for their actions.

Ben Rumson, John MacArthur himself in his other video said, that If God saw in the
future who will believe in Him... Then it is no longer election but reaction because He
saw those who will believe , then select them...
This is the dilemma of Calvinism.....
      ======================================================================
There is a flaw in Calvinism, where the Calvinists failed to see it...
'Election and Predestination' is indeed a biblical doctrine because it is in the
      scriptures...
However John Calvin failed to understand the entirety of this doctrine....
He had known half of it only and added his own understanding to this doctrine of
      'Election and Predestination'....
So, Calvinism is Truth mixed with Lies and it is more dangerous than lies alone....
I have asked several Calvinists this question, which none of them were able to
answer, because it was not taught by John Calvin who himself did not know the
      answer....
      My Question :
How did God Choose those whom He will save? Surely God have some basis for
His choice.... He did not just pick them at random....
      The Answer is:
Of course God choose His own children...
It is in the scriptures that there are two groups of people in this world, 'The Sheep
and the goats' or 'The Wheat and the Tares'....
In the Parable of 'The wheat and Tares', Jesus Himself explained who are these
two groups of people, and where did they come from...
The 'Sheep or Wheat' are the true children of God, and they will be saved...
The 'goats or tares' are of the devil and they are damned.....
The Sheep or Wheat are the True children of God not only by creation but by HEREDITY.
I can prove this to you if you are interested....
The Sheep inherited the character of God, The goats inherited the character of
      the devil.....
After the Fall of Adam and Eve, All the children of God are affected and inherited
the fallen nature of Adam and Eve, they did not inherit the sin but the sinful nature....
That's why Jesus came to give His life for ransom to save the Elect....
      (hope this clarifies you)
The elects were fallen and they need to be saved....
There is no OSAS in the scriptures, it is the wrong understanding of Calvin the murderer...
All the elect will definitely be saved, not one will be lost....
      John 17:12(KJV)
''While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name: those that you gave
me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the '''son of perdition'''; that the scripture
      might be fulfilled.''
(the son of perdition is Judas, he is not the child of God, but the son of perdition,
      a goat)
      Example of Goats :
Cain, Judas, some of the pharisees, pharaoh in the time of Moses.
      Example of Sheep :
Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, The apostles except Judas....
Note: The difference between the Sheep and the goats.... The Sheep though they
are in the fallen state, they still love God and desire to please God, Not the goats,
they don't love God but only their selves...
Look at Cain, he has no respect to God, he faced God with anger and blamed God
for his sin of killing Abel....
      How about John 3:16 ?
      John 3:16(NIV)
''For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.''
''Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life''==>>Only the Elect
will believe because they are the True Children of God and Have the character of
      God....
The goats are of the devil, they hate God and don't have the ability to repent...
      Look
at Judas, he prefer to hang himself than to repent of what he has done....
''Go unto all the world and preach the gospel to all creatures''==>>Only the Sheep
will believe the gospel and repent..... Thanks for reading....

For those who have minds that can reason, then let us reason together.
Firstly why does God choose one and not another?
Or why does God actually choose at all?
    Who does He choose?
And why do we need to be chosen.
Let’s cut right to the chase and consider the following to see whether or not it could be a possibility.
We know that God knew before creating the angels that one third of them would fall into rebellion.
And also we know that God didn’t need to send these fallen ones here to be with us.
But we also know that those who overcome satan’s temptations who temps us to rebel against God, will be of a greater character for overcoming them than those who were never tempted.
Perhaps this character is a necessary qualification for God to be able to make us in His own image.
And if this is true then we can say that God would have seen the rebellion in heaven as a magnificent opportunity, because it made possible for God to make man in His own image.
Perhaps God chooses because if He doesn’t choose, none would be saved.
Maybe this is how it is.
Maybe the powers of Satan are so powerful that unless Jesus Christ intercedes and chooses us we will not be saved.
And therefore as God knows who will and who won’t accept His offer, He predestines the life of those whom He knows will accept it so they can indeed accept it and be accepted by God.
On this basis God is choosing on merit alone. For He knows those who will accept His offer. Therefore He orchestrates their lives so they can indeed repent.
    Interesting subject.

    • @paulwilfridhunt
      @paulwilfridhunt 3 года назад

@@rudyferrell Obviously we will not deny the wisdom of wisely leaving to God what we cannot comprehend, such as how He created billions of Galaxies.
And those who tell us that this and other mysteries of God are beyond our human comprehension, speak well, because they speak a great truth, don’t they.
However the subject of predestination, whilst it initially doesn’t make sense, is meant to make sense, hence the reason why God alerts us to its existence.
And as we ponder the reasoning for it with the logical minds God has given us, it becomes apparent from a process of deduction, should we wish to deduce it, that God predestines because without doing so, none would be saved.
The understanding of this subject brings with it a greater comfort and solace for us who consider the lost who are perishing, because it helps us to more fully appreciate that they ultimately would not pay the price of grateful obedience to God.
However as the greatness of God and what He is, is unlimited and in the realm of infinity itself, we therefore, whilst learning more and more while travelling along our eternal journey in heaven, will always be learning, never knowing all, but always learning more. Thank you for your comment. God bless you.

Please listen again to his teaching. Maybe on the 2nd time you will see he answered All of your questions.
Only thing I disagree with is why he teaches; "God does not destined some to hell - For in regards to Romans 9 - it is clear God hated Esau before he was even born. Also in verse 18 God will show mercy on whom He Wills.
Now look in Genesis where God tells Eve He will put ENMITY between SATAN'S SEED AND HER SEED.
PLUS, Look at the parable of the Wheat and the Tares.. The
parable which Jesus gives appears in Matthew 13:24-43. The parable relates how servants eager to pull up weeds were warned that in so doing they would root out the wheat as well and were told to let both grow together until the * harvest.
But look closely at verses 23,24. **
The kingdom of heaven is planted by likened unto a man that sows good seed.
V.25 shows an Enemy comes in darkness and sowes tares among the wheat. (Who is our enemy? - none other than the one in the garden that God said He would put
ENMITY between each seed. SATAN's Goats are walking among us Sheep.
Just as there has become a huge field of Satan 's tares. God will call us home but already has a place reserved for Satan and all his followers to be cast into the lake of fire...
Revelation 20:19-15. THEY will be judged by their works. They are not under the blood of Christ Jesus.
So trust God is in Control and has the end planned from the beginning.
      Oh, yes!
The Goats and or the Tares will be divided, and God's Sheep will enter into His glorious rest. Be strong in your faith, for God Will Not allow the tares to choke out God's plan for your life.
      God is Always in Control.
He declared the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church - He promised that long before the church came into being.
So are there people here predestined to hell - Yes by all certainty. JESUS
said I have come for my lost Sheep. (ONLY)
So in this respect I do disagree respectfully.
There are vessels made for honor and dishonor. ROMANS 9:22,23
Goats never become sheep - DNA today proves that. Neither can a tare become a wheat either. ROMANS 9:22,23 - Only God knows His own.
I am so very grateful for His Grace and Mercy toward me and the 'Great I AM' made me one of His Sheep. ✝️❤️🌼🙏😘
Yes a day will come the Goats will be separated from the Sheep and wheat from the tares.

@@sandrafarley8798 I don’t think I disagree with you. All I am saying is that As God knows everything, He knew that the fall would take place in heaven if He made the angels.
And of course, As He knows which angels would be faithful to Him, He also knew which ones of us would be faithful to Him too. Correct?
But God allows Satan to come here to earth. God could have sent him anywhere but He sends him or allows him to be amongst us. Why?
What function does Satan provide? He provides the function of the tempter, doesn’t he.
The holy angels have proven themselves haven’t they. Although God doesn’t need proof because He knows without the proving. So therefore the angels have proved themselves to themselves, haven’t they. They were tried and tested and they know they have passed the test with flying colours.
And because of this proving their character is of a greater quality than what it was before they proved it.
Perhaps we can say that as they have proved themselves they have been sealed by God making it impossible for them to ever sin.
Satan could have separated Peter the apostle or sifted him but Jesus prayed and prevented it. Peter had seen it all. The miracles and He knew that Jesus was the son of the living God. But nevertheless without the intervention of Jesus he could have been sifted.
Ok what chance do we have of not being sifted by Satan. The answer is, without the help of God, we’d have no chance.
Hence the reason for predestination because without being predestined none would be saved. God knew we were all going to become captives of Satan so He comes up with a plan to set us free.
But Satan isn’t about to let us go unless God forces his hand. And He does that with an offer that Satan cannot refuse.
And that’s the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross as a sufficient ransom to let all those go free who plead the blood of Jesus Christ.
And As God knows before the creation of man which ones will be faithfully obedient to Him if He creates them, He therefore chooses these ones, and gives them a predestinated life or an orchestrated life that makes it possible to repent. But without this orchestrated life none would repent and none would be saved.

Furthermore, does the Bible not teach that even evil men give good gifts to their children? Is that not a “good act”? Are we really implying that total depravity means we are 100% incapable of doing any single good deed in our entire lives? Even after hearing the gospel of Christ which is the power to salvation? That is not what the Bible teaches. If that was the case he’d have destroyed the world all over again as He did in Noah’s time, as everyone only ever thought and did evil continually. No matter how depraved we are, God still allows us to make a choice after hearing His gospel. Why? I don’t know the mind of God, but are you to argue that sovereign God is incapable of sovereignly choosing to ALLOW US to make that choice, and in His foreknowledge electing those who do? It has NOTHING TO DO with merit. He doesn’t elect us because He feels “obligated” to, or because we’ve “earned” salvation by responding. He does so because he SOVEREIGNLY CHOOSES to. He would have every right to deny our plea and condemn us on the spot! If He so chose. Nobody is claiming we have “merited” anything by responding. He will have mercy on who He will have mercy on, and it is clear to me from the scriptures that He will have mercy on any who fall before Him, confess their sins and plead for salvation. And that is by HIS design, not ours.

After sixty years as a Christian, reading the sacred scriptures and studying them word by word, sentence by sentence, paragraph by paragraph, and more crucially studying the words of the Eternal Word, God manifest in Flesh, who alone is Eternal Life, and Eternal Salvation, and to highlight the eternal significance of this , let me take every genuine Christian to the Mount of Transfiguration in Matthew chapter 17v5 and Mark chapter 9v11-15, and Luke chapter 9v7, and Luke chapter 9v35, and listen to The Words of God the Father in response to the manmade ideology of Peter to make three tabernacles, one for you , one for Moses and one , for Elijah , imagining in his feeble apprenhensiion, that he was doing well, putting the Lord first, until the cloud of God's glory came upon them , and they were filled with fear, and they fell on their faces and heard God the Father say, This is my Beloved Son Hear Him, and the saw no one but God's Son alone, Moses and Elijah the greatest of the Old Testament prophets Gone , and God said this is My beloved Son Hear Him.
Today men major on what Paul or Peter says, but both of them are hell-deserving sinners, who could not save themselves never mind one single soul, so unless they confirm what The Eternal Word said, according to Hebrews chapter 2v3, their words are worthless, and unless we hear what God the Father said on the Holy Mountain, hear My Son, we are in danger of being eternally lost

    John acknowledges "tension" such as the ‘whosoever will’ scriptures. He states;
“Anybody who will come can come; and anybody who does come will be received.” How does that work together with election; John answers; “I don’t know.” That's a "tension", not easily ignored. A teacher of scripture should say that up front so that those listening can put all comments in that context. I agree that the doctrine of election is biblical. It extends specifically to the redemptive plans and purposes of God. However, I believe John adds to the meaning. I don't believe it's good balance, under the auspices of hyper-sovereign theology, to use a broad brush and sanitize the Bible of all other passages that speak about human choice, the Holy Spirits role in bringing wisdom, revelation, and understanding, as well as the influence of the god of this world (satan). In this teaching John also answers the question; How do we know who the chosen are? He uses 1 Thes 1:3-4 and says, "It's evident from your life;" human behavior; or works. Earlier in the message he made it clear that election isn't about our goodness or bad. (Rom 9).

If this is true, then the church can just sit back, relax and not lift a finger to reach out to others. MacArthur has taught his version of election for so long that he is very convincing to people who do NOT rely on the discernment of the Holy Spirit. That discernment is ONLY available to believers in the gospel of Jesus AND who do not quench the discerning power of the Holy Spirit by having unconfessed sin in their lives. Eph 4:17, 1 Co 2:14. God gave us 1 John 1:9 is written to believers in Jesus so we can be restored to fellowship when we sin and be filled with Holy Spirit for discernment of the Word.
The gospel of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection paid for ALL sins of every human. Jesus is the ONLY elected one and was appointed as elected in eternity past. Is 42:1, 1 Pet 2:6. Whosoever believes shall be saved. John 3:16. All who believe in Jesus share in His election. Eph 1:4 In Christ we are chosen. Nobody is chosen except those who are in Christ by their belief in His salvation gospel. God is NOT the respecter of any person. Acts 10:25-37.
The teaching of election as MacArthur and some others teach it is heresy and contrary to the essence and character of God. We must leave it to God to judge.
The false doctrines come about when a human takes a verse of scripture out of context and does not listen to the discernment of the Holy Spirit the human intellect will always create a false conclusion. This is how religions and denominations exist and have for all of time.
The Christian Way of Life is being filled with the Holy Spirit plus taking in knowledge of God from His Word. CWOL=HS+BD.
THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO LIVING THE LIFE GOD WANTS EVERYBODY TO LIVE. False teaching and religion convolutes God will for us.

In Acts 19:2 the Bible says, And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” Since the premise is regeneration comes before faith, how can they believe without knowing about the Holy Spirit? Can one be regenerated without the Holy Spirit? Is regeneration even necessary in order to believe?

    1. Scripture is from God and God cannot lie. (2 Tim. 3:16; Tit. 1:2)
    2. Predestination is of existing saints to adoption/glorification, not sinners to conversion. (Eph. 1:5, 11; Rom. 8:23, 29-30)
    3. Election is to service, calling and purpose, not to salvation. (Isa. 42:1; Acts 9:15; Rom. 11:28). Eph 1:4 says, "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:" The Calvinist reword is "chosen TO BE in him unto salvation." "Holy and without blame" describe quality of service, and the word, "should" involves an exhortation to be such, not a decree. Salvation is not mentioned in Eph 1:4.
    4. Adoption is the future redemption of the body, not conversion. (Rom. 8:23, 15-17; Gal. 4:1-6, 1 John 3:2)
    5. Sinners become sons of God through the new birth, not through adoption. (John 1:12-13)
    6. There are two callings: Gospel and vocational, not inward or outward or effectual or general, etc… (2 Thess. 2:14; Eph. 4:1; Rom. 8:28; 2 Cor. 5:20)
    7. Atonement is not synonymous with salvation. Christ’s death reconciles the world in universal atonement but Christ's life is what saves. (Rom. 5:10; 1 Cor. 15:17)
    8. It is a false dichotomy to assert that the universal set of theological thought is divided into Calvinism and Arminianism. We Bible believers reject both. Arminianism is Calvinism light. False dichotomies are used by the Calvinist to map the opponent to an unpalatable label and thus infer that Calvinism is the only alternative.
    9. God is pleased to save those that believe, not cause belief in those he saves. (1 Cor. 1:21; Rom. 10:9-10)
    10. Grace is a ubiquitous reality, not a selective force. (Tit. 2:11-13)
    11. Grace is just fine on its own as found in scripture. Any modifier other than “free,” such as “sovereign,” “irresistible,” or “prevenient” indicates superimposition of an ideology by someone who is either confused or attempting to confuse. (Rom. 3:24; 5:15; Jn. 1:16; Tit. 2:11-13)
    12. If one is born with total inability to receive God's life-giving truth and then passed over by the calvigod who unconditionally elected not to extend the gnostic spark of regeneration to that one to enable/cause faith, then there is no better excuse (Rom 1:20.)
    13. God's Word and God's life-giving truth of the gospel are the enablers of faith - "...the holy scriptures, which are ABLE to make thee wise unto salvation..." "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." The 2nd person "thee" and "ye" apply to YOU, whoever you are.
    14. The gift in Eph 2:8 is eternal life, not faith (Rom 6:23.)
    15. God is all loving, He loves all (without exception.) (John 3:16).

Excellent! My prayer is that Calvinist followers of John MacArthur, John Piper and other Calvinist pastors like them will read your comments, ask God to reveal to them if what you wrote is correct and, when they realize by the power of the Holy Spirit what you wrote is true, they will leave this ugly, hateful doctrine known as Calvinism and begin to see God for who he is, a just and righteous God who is love, so much so that he “…wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim 2:4). Not all will be saved, only those who believe (Jn 3:16). If someone doesn’t believe, it’s not because God prevents them from believing, rather it’s because they do not believe (Jn 3:18). May God bless you, and may God convict John MacArthur of his error and the damage he has done to the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

      1. Where in the scriptures it is ever taught that God must regenerate a man’s nature before he can believe? This can be found in a number of Scriptures John MacArthur prefers to use John chapter 3 verse 1. John One must be born again, although your web sight has corrupt the teaching of election its the only way for defense for the doctrine of election , your web site also accuses the doctrine of electron of robbing God of Glory when its the other way around if the doctrine of election makes it the full work of God the man gets no glory. man has always from the beginning tried to rob God of glory, to say that man choses God robs God of Glory it makes man responsible for his salvation, man does have the free will to choose unfortunately because of his sinful nature he will always choose sin over good,
      2. Did the LORD have to give Abraham a new nature before he could make the decision to leave when he was called out in Gen 12? No that is a real dumb question Im Sure he was filled with the spirit from birth
      3. Was the call to faith, imputed and irresistible to him? Of course,
      4. This statement is false (The “elect” is Christ, and not mankind). lets look at all the scriptures and see who God is speaking of? (Ephesians 1:3-14) (Romans 9:11) (Acts 13:48) (Romans 8:33) (Col 3:12) (2thes2:13) (Mathews24:22,24,31) (Mark 13:20,22,27) (Romans11:7) (2 Timothy 2:10) (Titus1:1) (1 Peter1:1) Now who is Gods Elect? Christ? or is it those who God has given each a measure of faith ? LETS SAY YOUR RIGHT FOR ARGUMENT SAKE? IF YOU RIGHT THEN WHAT DO WE DO WITH ALL THE SCRIPTURES THAT SAY THE OPPOSITE ? DO WE CAST THEM OUT? NO!! AND WE KNOW BOTH CANT BE RIGFHT? SO WE LOOK TO MAKE THEM ALL FIT WITH OUT CHANGING THE MEANING.

Which is JESUS CHRIST (according to Acts 2:38!) And remember, as (Acts 2:38) clearly states... Baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ is for the "remission/pardon/forgiveness/washing away of sins!" Mark Mullen, I used to dislike this doctrine of predestination as well. But you must accept God as revealed in the Bible. Paul explains election thoroughly in Eph 1 & Romans 9; God chose Abraham, chose Israel, all choices from love. Jesus Himself made many angry who left Him because He talked about election - John 6:65-66. Men hate election because they have a grand view of themselves, they think mankind is "good" or at least partially good. Not the case. Election is the only way anyone would choose to desire God instead of evil.
There are dozens of other verses that support election.

Vain teaching. Absolutely empty and pointless. MacArthur (and other false teachers) promotes the false dichotomy of heaven and hell... Election has to do with those who God chose to be the firstfruits of His Kingdom, which was inaugurated in AD 70... That's why Jesus and John the Baptist declared the Kingdom of Heaven was "at hand"... and why Paul said that the resurrection and judgment were "impending" in the first century (Acts 24:15; Acts 26:22).

Why didn't he ever actually debate calvinism? The Basics:. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (NOW!) and thou shalt be saved." Rejecters will not be. Why wouldn't the myriads of similar verses not say "those chosen to believe at creation will be saved"? Because it would be an accursed predestined different gospel! Those that do believe are predestined to be conformed to Christ's image. Will "it was predestined" to explain one's deeds be a viable excuse at the Great White Throne Judgement? Believe and trust the Bible, not men! Let God be true and every man a liar!
