Well ok then he's right on our total inability to choose, but the sad part is although he gets that right, he preaches an limited atonement which contradicts and disparages the inclusive purpose of the cross, the very character and WILL of God according to Matthew 5 and so many scriptures that it is mind boggling to see how anyone could take him seriously. If John was actually right with what he preachers then obviously the cross was senseless and a total waste of time and not needed.

To humble oneself and admit that I am a sinner is not a work. When the Bible says works it means works of righteousness. In other words we cannot do good works to gain salvation. Did you know that when you breathe you are working. But you are not working a righteous deed. Big difference.
Part 2 of 2. I disagree with any view that Calvinism is just another branch of Christianity. Calvinism has a different god, a different christ, and is another gospel. I believe that the most dangerous aspect of Calvinism is in P of TULIP-Perseverance of the Saints, and the false gospel of Lordship Salvation that defines P. Calvinism's assertion that, "We are saved by faith alone, but not a faith that is alone" is a subtle way of introducing justification by works into biblical Christianity. According to P you must persevere in faith and works of the Law, you must submit to tbe Lordship of Christ, and you must be obedient and behave in certain ways otherwise you must not be one of the elect. This directly contradicts the many Scriptures that we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ apart from the works of the law. Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Galatians 3:2-3 As you read the following Scriptures, please note, nowhere does it say that faith and believing unto salvation itself is a gift. The Scriptures say In Ephesians 2:8, the gift is "salvation" by grace through faith, not "faith" itself. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:2 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, Romans 4:5 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose. Galatians 2:21 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Romans 3:28 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” Galatians 3:11 And be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith- Philippians 3:9 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. The moment you point to your obedience to God's Laws and your own efforts to prove your salvation, you are basing your salvation on "your performance" and not the "finished work of Jesus Christ", contradicting God's promise of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ apart from the works of the law. Anytime you add anything to justification by faith in Jesus Christ, then you are perverting the very heart of the Gospel. Any time you introduce the exception clause "but" to the proposition that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ, you are adding works to the Gospel. The fate of those relying on their own works for their justification is very clear in the Bible... “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matthew 7:21-23 A great channel that exposes Calvinism is Beyond the Fundamentals. A good place to begin is, The Calvinist Meme Complex, which delves into the origins of Calvinism. Another good channel that exposes Calvinism is Soteriology 101 with Leighton Flowers. These channels biblically refute all of the typical proof texts that Calvinists use to support Calvinism. If you are a Calvinist, i suggest that you visit these channels so that you can see for yourself exactly how unbiblical Calvinism is. Over and over the Bible warns of false doctrines and myths and heresies and the traditions of man creeping into Biblical Christianity, twisting and perverting God's Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is exactly what Calvinism is and does.... Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Galatians 1:6-9 If you are a Calvinist, please take heed to what I am saying. Conduct your own research with an open mind. The channels I suggested are good starting points. Recant your Calvinist beliefs and its many false teachers, free your mind from its enslavement to human philosophy, vain teachings without biblical substance, idolatry, and legalism. I know it is very difficult to accept that you might have been taught nothing but deception and lies in Calvinism. It was difficult for me to accept, and human pride resists any notion that we might be wrong about long cherished beliefs. But it is not impossible, and the Scriptures with the help of tbe Holy Spirit will lead you to Truth if you approach your inquiry with humility. May God bless you by the reading of His Word.

I know Calvinists like to say faith itself is a work, but I reject that view. It follows from the faulty premise that regeneration preceeds faith, and that's not what the Bible says

God wants us to come to our senses and believe the Gospel, and when we do, God rejoices. The Calvinist god loves some and hates others. The christ of Calvinism died for some and not others. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. That's why we don't get credit, because even all our faith is based on the " Word" that he sent.

But here is the problem; those that pretend to live by the law, always claim the other guy isn't doing enough to demonstrate he is saved. All “pas” is some Jews and Gentiles from everywhere. Not every single person. Everyone drawn is saved John 6:44. Context of John 12 is Greeks seeking Jesus and Jesus did not meet with them. Jesus then said we will draw all “pas”. Men is not in the text. Jesus will draw all which is some Jews and Gentiles. Context. If Jesus draws every single person then everyone would be saved because everyone drawn is saved. John 6:44. All is not every single person but some of every tribe and tongue.

Any view that does not present God as he is presentef in the Bible are mere men trying to create God in their own image. Do not try to rescue God from what He says about Himself. He made it clear in Matthew 7:21-23, that He will not save all people. People do not deserve salvation, it is given by the grace of God.
It seems like you have some condition on salvation with a very narrow interpretation of Matthew 7:21-23.. you would have to deny multiple scripture and the finished work of Christ on the cross to hold that position, just not possible

Testifying of this truth.non of the apostles had any problem with God's election or predestination. but many of us call believers seem to have a problem with it. May God grant us to die daily to self .

He was so paitent and compassionate with myself before he drew myself to him, I lived this life of rebellion before he ransomed me. I completely understand this. We have many living in this futile way still today. The reject the gospel. I believe we are ALL spiritually dead until he changes our hearts. We are born into sin and love our sin and naturally love the world until he saves us. The gospel reveals and declares DIVINE INTERVENTION into a hopeless world. Men and woman do not want to admit their desperation , their need for a savior and their must be offer for their sin, if they don’t accept Christ they will not be forgiven, will not be reconciled with Christ , they will not receive eternal life, the will experience complete separation from God , the grace and common love the have now of breath and evil being withheld will not be any longer. It is remarkable how this truth show how excessively sinful and dead I was. I understand more how we will praise him in heaven. I understand more about my sinful nature and how that nothing is good of my old self. God is greater than we understand. Our minds is from the dirt from a fallen Adam. I guess we can say from the dirt he rose us up from Adam.
You can believe in free will and be a Christian. You can believe in predestination and be a Christian. You can be a Christian and believe free will and predestination coexist because the Bible talks about both and God can do the inexplicable. We don't need to fight about it.
Depends on what one means by a will that is free. Free from what? Free to choose? Like we stand apart from what we choose? We can choose what? We choose among those things within our environment to choose. Among those things we are exposed to. And our choices are limited according to age and ability to partake of our choices. And our cultural exposures. Choice is only one of the elements of what makes us autonomous as creatures.
I agree to not fight but I what I see is that a rejection of this biblical truth seems to cause people to entertain all kinds of options that we then also can't be certain of truth at many points. I have thought about Calvinism and I don't see it as taught by Paul. Calvinists made God into a semi-potent God, that He can only give grace to a few but not all. If Calvinists believe God is all sovereign and all merciful, wouldn't God give grace to all men to be saved? But it seems like Calvinists are the ones who restrict God's grace to save all people. But again and again scripture tells us that God so loves the world (not limited to the elect) and whoever (includes everyone) BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. There is no Limited Atonement in John 3:16 and there is no indication that God gives His grace according to whom He chose.

When Jesus was talking to the religious leaders and saying, “you are unwilling to come to me.” He was talking to and about “them”, not all mankind. MacArthur’s message is classic “reading into the text” his Calvinism. But it’s not there. If it’s not possible to choose God or reject God, then God spent a lot of waisted words like, “come let us reason together “. Or as Joshua said, “choose for yourself who you will follow, but as for me and my house, we will follow the Lord.”

Jesus is talking to the Jewish leaders. This doctrine of the reformers is opposed to the words of Jesus when he said: "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. There’s nothing in this message nor in the entire Bible that points to the inability of anyone to choose between God or sin. In fact the scripture is full of God telling people to choose Him, turn from sin, to resist the devil and he will flee from you…. and on and on. I use to attend GCC, and asked several people and pastors there about this type of teaching. Never once did I get a biblical answer, only that “this is reformed theological teaching.” In other words, it’s not in the Bible, but we teach it as if it were.

The question is were we capable of receiving Christ before or after God began the work of regeneration? In Ephesians 2 it says we were dead, a dead person cannot receive Christ. In the next verse after your reference it days we were not born of the will of man but of God. Even though many of us can point to a time and place we made a decision, I believe God was at work regenerating our hearts before we reached that point. Thus Even though we chose to follow God, God first chose us.

If God is trying to free us from material desires, why does He promise to supply all our needs from the riches of His glory? Why does Jesus say ASK for ANYTHING in my name, and it will be done? “If your child asks for a fish, will you give him a snake?” Why does Jesus say “Take no thought for food or clothing” because we are worth more than the sparrows and the lilies? If we aren’t supposed to LIVE like Jesus, why does He tell us that those who love Him will DO what he commands: to love God and to love our neighbors? The pelagian, semi-pelagian, and Remonstrance soteriologies were all given a fair hearing and rejected in turn by ecomunical councils. Pelagius's teachings were subjected to the Council of Jerusalem in AD 421, wherein he (because he would not recant) and his theology were anathematized. And so it had been with the semi-pelagian, and the Arminian at the Synod of Dort. The free-will argument was the heart of debate between Luther and Erasmus. (Read The Bondage of the Will for the full diatribe). When you get down to the grits, the Arminian position is the same as the questioner who opposes Paul in Romans 9. Frankly, its not prudent or safe to be opposite Paul.
Well the only reason the silly debates exists is because both sides hold to an exclusive Gospel. If one is to read all scpriture they most certainly will conclude both Arminianism and Calvinism as false and nothing more than a disparagement of the mercy of God and both based on pride. The Gospel is inclusive.

Among other passages, we read in Romans 8 that those whom God foreknew are the same as those whom are glorified. The language is specific to those, not general. It is not a matter of pride, sir, but a matter of faithfulness to the Scripture. Jesus himself said all whom the Father had given to him would come to him. At the same time, no one is able to come to him unless he has been drawn by the Father. To find a universal drawing is to read into the Scripture one's own bias and tradition because it clearly is not written there.

Some were chosen for divine reasons I believe, Paul, the jews to name a couple. However I think he misrepresents. What certain evangelical Christians believe But simply put, The belief that god chose Certain individuals to be saved and chooses others for hell Contradicts so many other things in the bible that it cannot possibly be true. There's just too many other things that contradict that belief in the Bible. And you cannot explain away the majority of the biblical texts and stories and. The overall theme of the gospel. I could list a hundred scriptures that contradict this idea. Yes, if this idea is true, why does he even have a church or a ministry? Why does he Bother preaching If on believers cannot somehow be led to god through hearing the word. Why even bother with the entire history of mankind. God's ultimate will will be done, but. If man has no Place in this story He has no agency, no ability to go right or left Then it seems to me the entire biblical narrative starts to fall apart. Except for the very lucky few who are chosen way in advance of time to reign and rule in heaven with Christ and all the others are just destined to burn as if they were created. Just to go to hell is Just Absurd . On a psychological note There is definitely a hint of arrogance in his voice when he preaches this message. The way he kind of demeans other Christians who do not believe in this particular theology Is also slightly annoying. There's so many contradictions in this theology. It should give anybody pause. That's kind of like the way you detect anything that is untrue. I don't think the bible or christianity or the belief in god is illogical, But I find this particular theological interpretation illogical, contradictory, and just wrong.
John takes a scripture that says, “they were unwilling” and says it’s because they are unable. This is a classic Calvinism trick. We will take the scriptures that actually go against Calvinism and change their meaning. And then say those who attack us are not attacking us because of what scripture says, but because they feel they can contribute something to their salvation. A work’s salvation. I love John MacArthurs preaching, but when it comes to Calvinism he is very dishonest in how he handles scripture, and how he handles those who oppose his view. I have assurance because I know my salvation is of God and not by my works or will. I know I am elect because I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.

Calvinists agree that Christ's death on the cross is sufficient to save all of humanity. The debate is the extent to which it is applied. If it were applied equally to all then all sin will have been paid for even the sin of rejecting Christ, so for what reason would someone end up in hell? Unless you are a universalist then most would agree that there is some limit to the application of the Grace God paid for on the cross. The question then becomes does God limit it by choosing to save some and not others? Or do we limit it by our own free choice? However, if we are not capable of freely choosing God apart from His grace at work to draw us to Him, then 100% of the work is achieved by God and He gets 100% of the Glory. We can not take credit for any of it. It is also inaccurate to say we were judged before we did good or evil, for all of us are sinful and fall short of the glory of God from birth. We have no capacity to do good apart from the grace of God. I believe the question should be why does God save anyone at all? Rather than why are some saved and not others. The only answer can be that God sovereignly acts to bring glory to himself. Our only response can be to fall on on our knees and worship.
Calvinism is like Satan's tool to lead people to become atheists. I have noted that people who turn to atheism criticize our God for his supposed partiality and unfairness, choosing by mere whim a mere portion of the population to be saved. He is not partial or unfair. It's only Calvinism trying to show that He is. But God is not a respecter of persons.

I'm certain Jesus must be grieved when He hears people say he only died for the "elect". Calvinism was first articulated by Augustine (a Roman Catholic) in the 4th century. So, the Church did quite well for 300 years without this doctrine. The Biblical doctrine of salvation is best described by the “Corporate View of Election” or the “Provisionalist Salvation Doctrine”. Don’t look to be right; look to find truth.
There is a clear verse that tells how God draws. John 12:32 ,Jesus said, when He is lifted up ALL men would be drawn to Him. All men have an opportunity to believe on the Lord Jesus christ. For them He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to become conformed to the image of His Son. God knew before the foundation of the world who would believe on Jesus for the free gift of eternal life, and who would not. Romans 6:23. John 1:12. John 3:18. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. First John 2:2 We are predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son at the resurrection. When we will be transformed into the likeness of Him who saved us. First Corinthians 15:51-53. We shall be changed and this mortal shall put on immortality.

Part 2 of 2. I disagree with any view that Calvinism is just another branch of Christianity. Calvinism has a different god, a different christ, and is another gospel. Calvinism's assertion that, "We are saved by faith alone, but not a faith that is alone" is a subtle way of introducing justification by works into biblical Christianity.
According to P you must persevere in faith and works of the Law, you must submit to tbe Lordship of Christ, and you must be obedient and behave in certain ways otherwise you must not be one of the elect. This directly contradicts the many Scriptures that we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ apart from the works of the law.
Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?
Galatians 3:2-3
As you read the following Scriptures, please note, nowhere does it say that faith and believing unto salvation itself is a gift. The Scriptures say In Ephesians 2:8, the gift is "salvation" by grace through faith, not "faith" itself.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:2
And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,
Romans 4:5
I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
Galatians 2:21
For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.
Romans 3:28
Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.”

And be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-

Do you see the problem? The moment you point to your obedience to God's Laws and your own efforts to prove your salvation, you are basing your salvation on "your performance" and not the "finished work of Jesus Christ", contradicting God's promise of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ apart from the works of the law.
Anytime you add anything to justification by faith in Jesus Christ, then you are perverting the very heart of the Gospel. Any time you introduce the exception clause "but" to the proposition that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ, you are adding works to the Gospel. The fate of those relying on their own works for their justification is very clear in the Bible...
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Matthew 7:21-23

If you are a Calvinist, i suggest that you visit these channels so that you can see for yourself exactly how unbiblical Calvinism is.
Over and over the Bible warns of false doctrines and myths and heresies and the traditions of man creeping into Biblical Christianity, twisting and perverting God's Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is exactly what Calvinism is and does....

If you are a Calvinist, please take heed to what I am saying. Conduct your own research with an open mind. The channels I suggested are good starting points. Recant your Calvinist beliefs and its many false teachers, free your mind from its enslavement to human philosophy, vain teachings without biblical substance, idolatry, and legalism. I know it is very difficult to accept that you might have been taught nothing but deception and lies in Calvinism. It was difficult for me to accept, and human pride resists any notion that we might be wrong about long cherished beliefs. But it is not impossible, and the Scriptures with the help of tbe Holy Spirit will lead you to Truth if you approach your inquiry with humility. May God bless you by the reading of His Word.

Faith comes by hearing the word of God. That's why we don't get credit, because even all our faith is based on the " Word" that he sent.

All “pas” is some Jews and Gentiles from everywhere. Not every single person. Everyone drawn is saved John 6:44.
Context of John 12 is Greeks seeking Jesus and Jesus did not meet with them. Jesus then said we will draw all “pas”. Men is not in the text. Jesus will draw all which is some Jews and Gentiles. Context. If Jesus draws every single person then everyone would be saved because everyone drawn is saved. John 6:44. All is not every single person but some of every tribe and tongue.

I want you to observe a lesson from the book of Job. The man who received the most hate for speaking of / about God was indeed right all along and commended by for not trying to make God is his own image. Any view that does not present God as he is presentef in the Bible are mere men trying to create God in their own image. Do not try to rescue God from what He says about Himself. He made it clear in Matthew 7:21-23, that He will not save all people. People do not deserve salvation, it is given by the grace of God.
It seems like you have some condition on salvation with a very narrow interpretation of Matthew 7:21-23.. you would have to deny multiple scripture and the finished work of Christ on the cross to hold that position, just not possible

This shows the depravity of man, this is rebellion against the essence of God himself. He was so paitent and compassionate with myself before he drew myself to him, I lived this life of rebellion before he ransomed me. I completely understand this. We have many living in this futile way still today. The reject the gospel. GOD IS slow to anger with them and eventually on his decree he can harden their hearts or open their hearts, that is the power or God.
I believe we are ALL spiritually dead until he changes our hearts. We are born into sin and love our sin and naturally love the world until he saves us. We are fallen men and woman Jesus came to bear the sins of fallen men and woman and offer his life as a sacrifice in our place. The gospel reveals and declares DIVINE INTERVENTION into a hopeless world.
Men and woman do not want to admit their desperation , their need for a savior and their must be offer for their sin, if they don’t accept Christ they will not be forgiven, will not be reconciled with Christ , they will not receive eternal life, the will experience complete separation from God , the grace and common love the have now of breath and evil being withheld will not be any longer.
Only Christ can change that, his death satisfies the demands of Gods justice against sinners.

Depends on what one means by a will that is free. Free from what? Free to choose? Like we stand apart from what we choose? We can choose what? We choose among those things within our environment to choose. Among those things we are exposed to. And our choices are limited according to age and ability to partake of our choices. And our cultural exposures. Choice is only one of the elements of what makes us autonomous as creatures.

I have thought about Calvinism and I don't see it as taught by Paul. Calvinists made God into a semi-potent God, that He can only give grace to a few but not all. If Calvinists believe God is all sovereign and all merciful, wouldn't God give grace to all men to be saved? But it seems like Calvinists are the ones who restrict God's grace to save all people. But again and again scripture tells us that God so loves the world (not limited to the elect) and whoever (includes everyone) BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. There is no Limited Atonement in John 3:16 and there is no indication that God gives His grace according to whom He chose.

MacArthur’s message is classic “reading into the text” his Calvinism. But it’s not there. If it’s not possible to choose God or reject God, then God spent a lot of waisted words like, “come let us reason together “. Or as Joshua said, “choose for yourself who you will follow, but as for me and my house, we will follow the Lord.”
The choice of GOD was for the people of Israel not the world but GOD’S chosen people. We were Gentiles outside of The law of GOD. John 1:17 GOD gave the Law through Moses , (Old Testament) But GRACE and TRUTH came through JESUS CHRIST.🙏(New Testament ) GOD Loved HIS Chosen people, HE gave them the Law, wisdom of the judges and The message of the prophets . HE reasoned with them!!! They failed to obey by NOT keeping GOD’S Covenant with HIM by obeying HIS Law….Hebrews 9:15 For this reason CHRIST is the ONE WHO Arranges a New Covenant, so that those who have been CALLED by GOD may receive the eternal blessing that GOD has promised. There’s nothing in this message nor in the entire Bible that points to the inability of anyone to choose between God or sin. In fact the scripture is full of God telling people to choose Him, turn from sin, to resist the devil and he will flee from you…. and on and on. I use to attend GCC, and asked several people and pastors there about this type of teaching. Never once did I get a biblical answer, only that “this is reformed theological teaching.”
In other words, it’s not in the Bible, but we teach it as if it were.

The question is were we capable of receiving Christ before or after God began the work of regeneration? In Ephesians 2 it says we were dead, a dead person cannot receive Christ. In the next verse after your reference it days we were not born of the will of man but of God. Even though many of us can point to a time and place we made a decision, I believe God was at work regenerating our hearts before we reached that point. Thus Even though we chose to follow God, God first chose us.

The pelagian, semi-pelagian, and Remonstrance soteriologies were all given a fair hearing and rejected in turn by ecomunical councils. Pelagius's teachings were subjected to the Council of Jerusalem in AD 421, wherein he (because he would not recant) and his theology were anathematized. And so it had been with the semi-pelagian, and the Arminian at the Synod of Dort. The free-will argument was the heart of debate between Luther and Erasmus. (Read The Bondage of the Will for the full diatribe). When you get down to the grits, the Arminian position is the same as the questioner who opposes Paul in Romans 9. Frankly, its not prudent or safe to be opposite Paul.
Well the only reason the silly debates exists is because both sides hold to an exclusive Gospel.
If one is to read all scpriture they most certainly will conclude both Arminianism and Calvinism as false and nothing more than a disparagement of the mercy of God and both based on pride.

Among other passages, we read in Romans 8 that those whom God foreknew are the same as those whom are glorified. The language is specific to those, not general. It is not a matter of pride, sir, but a matter of faithfulness to the Scripture. Jesus himself said all whom the Father had given to him would come to him. At the same time, no one is able to come to him unless he has been drawn by the Father. To find a universal drawing is to read into the Scripture one's own bias and tradition because it clearly is not written there.

Some were chosen for divine reasons I believe, Paul, the jews to name a couple. However I think he misrepresents. What certain evangelical Christians believe But simply put, The belief that god chose Certain individuals to be saved and chooses others for hell Contradicts so many other things in the bible that it cannot possibly be true. There's just too many other things that contradict that belief in the Bible. And you cannot explain away the majority of the biblical texts and stories and. The overall theme of the gospel. I could list a hundred scriptures that contradict this idea. Yes, if this idea is true, why does he even have a church or a ministry? Why does he Bother preaching If on believers cannot somehow be led to god through hearing the word. Why even bother with the entire history of mankind. God's ultimate will will be done, but. If man has no Place in this story He has no agency, no ability to go right or left Then it seems to me the entire biblical narrative starts to fall apart. Except for the very lucky few who are chosen way in advance of time to reign and rule in heaven with Christ and all the others are just destined to burn as if they were created. Just to go to hell is Just Absurd . On a psychological note There is definitely a hint of arrogance in his voice when he preaches this message. The way he kind of demeans other Christians who do not believe in this particular theology Is also slightly annoying. There's so many contradictions in this theology. It should give anybody pause. That's kind of like the way you detect anything that is untrue. I don't think the bible or christianity or the belief in god is illogical, But I find this particular theological interpretation illogical, contradictory, and just wrong.

John takes a scripture that says, “they were unwilling” and says it’s because they are unable. This is a classic Calvinism trick. We will take the scriptures that actually go against Calvinism and change their meaning. And then say those who attack us are not attacking us because of what scripture says, but because they feel they can contribute something to their salvation. A work’s salvation. I love John MacArthurs preaching, but when it comes to Calvinism he is very dishonest in how he handles scripture, and how he handles those who oppose his view. Calvinists teach that God sent His Son to save a few sinners and sentence the rest of mankind to eternal fire before they were born or had done good or evil
Calvinists agree that Christ's death on the cross is sufficient to save all of humanity. The debate is the extent to which it is applied. If it were applied equally to all then all sin will have been paid for even the sin of rejecting Christ, so for what reason would someone end up in hell? Unless you are a universalist then most would agree that there is some limit to the application of the Grace God paid for on the cross. The question then becomes does God limit it by choosing to save some and not others? Or do we limit it by our own free choice? However, if we are not capable of freely choosing God apart from His grace at work to draw us to Him, then 100% of the work is achieved by God and He gets 100% of the Glory. We can not take credit for any of it. It is also inaccurate to say we were judged before we did good or evil, for all of us are sinful and fall short of the glory of God from birth. We have no capacity to do good apart from the grace of God. I believe the question should be why does God save anyone at all? Rather than why are some saved and not others. The only answer can be that God sovereignly acts to bring glory to himself. Our only response can be to fall on on our knees and worship.
Calvinism is like Satan's tool to lead people to become atheists. I have noted that people who turn to atheism criticize our God for his supposed partiality and unfairness, choosing by mere whim a mere portion of the population to be saved. He is not partial or unfair. It's only Calvinism trying to show that He is. But God is not a respecter of persons.

Calvinism was first articulated by Augustine (a Roman Catholic) in the 4th century.
So, the Church did quite well for 300 years without this doctrine.

All men have an opportunity to believe on the Lord Jesus christ. Unfortunately not all will. They have a CHOICE.

World in the scripture is in reference to there being no difference between Jew and Gentile. But only the choice of GOD.

The words elect and GOD’s chosen people are all through out the Bible. Scripture says we as individuals don’t choose GOD. If and when a person is chosen it is because ( Ephesians 1:11)GOD had planned it from the beginning.
GOD Loves all people. But for HIS own we become family.

It obviously was not God's intention to tell of predestination at that point earlier, just as He kept hidden this entire dispensation of grace until He was ready to reveal it through Apostle Paul! For them He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to become conformed to the image of His Son. God knew before the foundation of the world who would believe on Jesus for the free gift of eternal life, and who would not. Romans 6:23. John 1:12. John 3:18. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. First John 2:2
We are predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son at the resurrection. When we will be transformed into the likeness of Him who saved us. First Corinthians 15:51-53. We shall be changed and this mortal shall put on immortality.
