So glad to hear you say Rachel that you felt you used your capacities fully as a single, proactively.
Love this. I felt encouraged by Rachel's sharing. Really like it they treasure deeply the moments life has given back to them. Thanks for sharing this interview.
I had been waiting for an in depth interview of Rachel & Ozzie like this for a long time! Thank you so much! Hashem should help all Klal Israel find their zivug with clarity BH
I am not Jewish but I loved this interview especially when Ozzie called Rachel a class act a beautiful compliment because she really is ❤
I am a baal teshuva and when I was in E. Y. Ozzie was one of my most favorite people.
He’s legit a legend
I loved this episode so much! definitely one of my favorites! What a beautiful story and beautiful couple!
Amen
Ozzie and Rachel, you are fountains of chochmah. I love how you both tied bitachon into the picture. Spot on. Strong!
Such a much needed discussion, thank you!

Gotta love Rabbi Refson’s sense of humor
Excellent interview! Beautiful couple!
Excellent interview. Impressed by both of them!
Love her attitude in life !
I just wanna grab lunch with this guy… so much depth
You should
Nice interview. I dont know who this couple is but my husband does similar work (different approach) with singles and they are definitely correct in their assessments in terms of the issues and blocks holding people back from marriage. Its svary and sad how much pressure is on frum singles today. For what its worth i was also an older bride i had to be hit on the head and dragged back to the cave so to speak, had absolutely no idea what the heck i was doing or what i wanted. Luckily my husband took charge and also did a little break up routine with me that was a kick in my pants to make me realize i didn't want to lose him. He is 10 years younger than me too, which is a major reason why we couldnt meet earlier. I was already dating while he was still in elementary school!!
Hashem has His plan and everything Hashem does is for the best so have emunah and bitachon and you will always be happy
great interview . would also be helpful if she would explain the mistakes of her previous engagements. thanks
Mamesh an inspiration for the nation! Kudos!
Very good. I thank them for being willing to open up to us.
So strong, I’m not sure I could do a second marriage. One will be enough
Our second marriage was a gateway to SO may beautiful things! Please reconsider!!
You do what you have to
Strong and beautiful amazing interview of an amazing couple❤
Strong? Hopefully optimistic! Yes!!
Amazing podcast, so eye opening and inspiring.

Unfortunately not everyone is so lucky to meet The One
Many many men are not interested in really committing
Schools need to start having relationship skills /conflict resolution skills classes
Wow!! I have no words!!! What an inspiring interview!!! Thank you!!
Amazing story. Keep up the good work.
I know Ozzie from way back he is a great guy
Thanks Nechemia! Love ya!
To be a caregiver to a chronically ill spouse is a harrowing experience. I’m so happy for this lovely couple. Mazal Tov 🎉
He kind of looks like Prince William. And she is so smart!
Yes!! I keep seeing Prince William as well. 😊
Great story. Great examples.
Strong. Excellent as usual.
Yosher Koach to that special couple on presenting the issues of dating in the modern and frum society. Hopefully there should be more simchas and the singles should find their zivug hagun beito ubizmano bekarov. They are STRONG people and they should be zocheh to continue to help Klal Yisrael. Tizku lemitzvot!!
Great story! ❤
Great interview!
Brother Ozwold… that was incredible 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Love ya Brother Oz!!!
@@ozzieburnham just saw Tziporas pod cast with you and it brought me here. Loved your ending, one of my favorite lines. GOOD THINGS TALK TIME. May Hashem help you to keep on inspiring klal Yisroel.
@@yitzchakenglard2514 Totally agree! R. Lopiansky shares that that is exactly the reason we live long. Development is a process and we need enough time to go trough, become, and build.

If we just take a quick stroller through the Torah scrolls. Practically everyone went through a journey. And the longest journey that we are a part of is the coming of Moshiach. May we be zoche to see him very very soon.

These are two great inspirational people. They are doing great work and they have individually and together inspirational stories. However, at 19 minutes, the way he described his personal yetzias mitzrayim. “suddenly.. I’m not married..”. Granted it was a very difficult, I am in no position to be judgmental at all. But it made me very uncomfortable to basically hear that he had his yetzias mitzrayim through the death of his wife, which ultimately enabled him to marry again. It really comes off extremely ichy. I can’t imagine how her parents would feel listening to him describe it that way. ( the interview gives the impression that he was tricked into marrying a sick girl, was stuck with her and though he stuck by her, did not love her and felt trapped until he was finally freed by her death).
Also not in a position to judge but also agree
Not judging is NOT JUDGING
You didn’t listen to that paragraph with enough discernment…he said one moment I was married, then I wasn’t, and then I was to Rachel. Yetzias mitzrayim into a new marriage from the loss of his dear wife and from that fear of the unknown, his widower state. If you watch his interview with Tziporah Grodko on the stories of hope podcast, he shares a very personal story about how he consciously committed to his sick wife, despite his marriage to her not looking the way he expected it to. A man like this is very rare, and punkt fakhert, the way he stayed by her was precisely how he was able, ready, and willing to bring Rachel into a marriage mindset, as they explained. He used his good midos to manifest his second marriage. It seems obvious that Hashem rewarded him with a second zivug right away, for his ability to stay married to an extremely sick woman, when many , if not most , men would leave. @ozzieburnham thank you for showcasing your amazing middos.
Hi Helen, I understand where you're coming from. I was searching for one of the times the Torah has told us to remember the good Hashem has done for us. Yetziyas mitzraim was the first to come to mind, probably because of how often it appears in our tefillos and that the seder night is all about that mitzvah.
I certainly would have had the same reaction had Hashem granted my first wife a full recovery and the ability to have children. For His own reasons, His way of giving me a marriage free of constant unrelenting health challenges and 4 exuberant children was through marriage with Rachel.
Thanks for bring this this up so that I had the opportunity to clarify my intent!

Yes it was a strong episode. But what am I missing that everyone is commenting “strong”?
Watch the WHOLE episode 😉
@@LivingLchaim thought I did, must’ve missed it 😎
Go to the end of the podcast
He says to comment “strong “
The more accurate definition of this song is that this is the last part of every prayer of the three daily prayers that orthodox jews are praying. in most of Jewish communities this part is said in whisper but it could be sang in different melodies. to my opinion,
a "Jewish popular prayer" is more corect to say..

ווואוו אתם כל כך חמודים ומרגשים !! וממש היה לי כיף , לשמוע את התובנות שלכם ,, השם יתברך לא שוכח אף אחד 😊
What's the spelling of that word they've both used several times in the first 30 minutes: Kirev? Kuriv? And what does it mean?
Kiruv. It refers to outreach, as in observant Jews bringing unaffiliated or non-religious Jews back to the Torah.
@@TheZyarok thanks for the explanation.

This was a great episode! Regarding the clothing brand Twillory, their prices are outrageous, and I don't know if it's because they're a Jewish brand and that's why you're promoting them, but maybe you could find a more affordable/approachable sponsor?
LOL
Thanks for the feedback! Yaakov here. I agree that they don’t have cheap pricing BUT I can tell you they have really great quality.
Before they were sponsors, I literally have a pair of their pants for over 5 years (perfect condition- and I wore them a lot).
Yes, their pricing isn’t as low as others but you’re getting great quality that looks good.
If it’s in your budget go ahead and try.
If not, that’s totally cool too!
All the best 🙌🏻
@LivingLchaim I hear you! I'm loving your interviews! Keep it up.
Strong. Do they have kids?
Yes they have 4 children
I'm sorry that never came up. We're very blessed with two boys and two girls!
Bh
Ozzie, did you know beforehand that your 1st wife had that condition, or only found out by sheva brachos??
Same question
@@BenSkyLakewoodOzzie what's the answer? I see you read the comments and respond so why not respond??
@@User_name5 I'm sorry, I was at a conference and our family was traveling. Will respond now!
My first wife told me when we were dating and I discussed it with her parents. She never had a hint of sickness in the three months we dated or in our four months of engagement. She told me that she kept it under control with medication, which is fairly common for that condition.
During those 10+ years I often thought "if only you did more research" " if only you spoke to her doctor" etc. Over time it became very clear to me that this was something Hashem wanted us to go through. And as Rachel often says "Hashem, he always gets his way"😎 I'm still struggling to find the full meaning behind that experience and I can't say it fully makes sense. I've got fragments of the puzzle, but far from the whole view.
@@ozzieburnham1927 Wow that must have been hard to go through! You're a trooper! Thanks for the response. I just couldn't imagine that you went into such a sitch blindly and that she hid it from you, so thanks for the explanation, appreciate the clarity.

R., Would appreciate slower speech.
What does shiva mean in hebrew
7 days of mourning when a very close relative passes.
Mourning a relative for 7 days.
The first week of mourning for an immediate relative. Sheva means 7 for those 7 days. It's called "sitting shiva" because of the main practice that characterizes that week: sitting, on a lower seat than a regular chair - or some sit on the floor, and do virtually nothing for oneself for the week, while others come to visit and console the mourners, bring them meals, reminisce, pray together, contribute charity in memory of the loved one, etc. Kaddish for the year begins that week... There are a lot of practices.
So how do chassidim do this in 3 hours?
Dating as an item is not very Jewish because Jews either have lived close in the same community or distant, and parents would arrange shiduchim for obedient young children who had tribal similarities. And the children made it work. Which children today even involve their parents? Which parents want to be there? The structure has collapsed and we now depend on a non-Jewish system called dating.
