    Find out why Kevin says, "I don't know if I've ever seen a product that is going to make such a difference for so many people". Power supplies make all the difference in audio, and the Sbooster offers a massive upgrade to a huge range of products.

    Bought this from Upscale Audio to power my Clearaudio Concept with Hana SL cart. Noticeable difference. Silence is darker, blacker. Bass is more responsive. Vinyl now has a smoother, "buttery" feel to it. It's subtle, but worth the investment. Now I'm curious what linear power could do for my DAC and CD transport!

    I recently bought and I don’t have a difference. I was influenced to purchase this as an upgrade to my SSL Sigma.
    I decided to do a null test and the differences in before and after are not clearly audible. In fact, processing a drum loop through my SSL twice (with the older supply), yielded very similar high null results. When I compared older power supply audio and sBooster, the differences were similar as the cheap power supply nulling with itself.
    I don’t want to sell it, but I don’t see a need in keeping it. My tests proved that this isn’t beneficial for me.

    I purchased one to replace the stock SMPSU supplied with my Chord Hugo TT2 DAC. I bought it on a trial and return arrangement as I was a little skeptical because the designer of the TT2, Rob Watts, recommends using only the standard SMPSU and strongly discourages substitution with a linear PSU. Not sure where the venerable Mr Watts is coming from on this point and who am I to contradict him; however, the sonic improvements using the SBooster were obvious immediately after substituting it in place of the Chord PSU. A comparatively cheap upgrade that has yielded a significant SQ improvement.

    • @hushpuppykl
      @hushpuppykl 4 года назад +5

      Rave Snave ... Rob Watts has no control over which aftermarket LPS is being used. If it’s a crappy one, it may damage the unit. Hence, safer to say it’s a big no to use after market LPS.
      That’s the reason.

    • @rolandevans5894
      @rolandevans5894 4 года назад +1

      @@hushpuppykl That is probably the main reason; however Mr Watts makes a point regarding that the current to the voltage rails are from SuperCaps and therefore isolated from the outboard PSU; he also states that noise floor levels across the component substrates are actually lower with the supplied PSU and any HF noise from the SMPSU is filtered out at several stages and not propagated within the electronics. However, my ears tell me that all aspects of SQ has been improved by using this particular PSU.

    I had to unplug all of my equipment from my preferred (convenient) socket, and use a different socket (Mains ring). I would prefer not to use this new socket because I have to use extension leads, and it is nearer to my house plants so I would rather just blank it off, so I can do things like spray my plants.
    My possibly stupid question is ; will the MKll let me use a verry noise contaminated circuit or is that asking too much of it.

    LED on supply lights, but is not allowing the Brooklyn DAC+ to power on. Getting a cheap 50$ iFi to see if the fault lies with the SBooster or the Mttek.

    I'd think using silver plated wire with teflon insulation has no benefit in a power supply.

  • @mfraser43

    Prove it. Set up a dual trace oscilloscope and compare the signal from a standard brick power supply for about 20 bucks to the signal from this 400 dollar device. Or for that matter, save a lot of time and money and just use a rechargeable battery for your DC needs if you're so concerned with noise on a DC line.

      From what I've read battery packs sound worse than a good power supply so that might not be the better option

      You can see where they've done test with the s booster to the original switching power supply. S-booster is quieter. I've owned this one for about 3 years.
