REL Acoustics makes subwoofers--that's all they do. Don't buy subwoofers from speaker manufacturers. The 212/SE is for larger rooms, and like every REL, is articulate and tuneful. It is fast enough to seamlessly integrate with the most dynamic high-end speakers out there. - Развлечения
I’m pretty sure I’d listen to you talk about anything... I quite sure that you have a strong opinion on how to prepare a salad and I really wanna hear about it!
I have a older REL..still use it in a stereo system..properly setup..its just brilliant..thanks alot
Your choice of the Giulia QV tells me I should listen to you. I bought the Tannoy XT8F after listening to your analysis and description. And I have a QV as well ....
Great sub. REL subs enhance music like no other.
I just bought a REL T5i to pair with my Kef LS50 on my desktop and it's beautiful. REL, especially with that speakon connector, is amazing.
aldphillip2003 - Awesome! I just received delivery of a pair I bought from upscale to add to my stereo system. Excited and looking forward to installing and hearing them in action.
I use the LS50 with REL subwoofers too. I love them. I started with one REL and I was impressed with the results. My system stayed like this for about a year and then I found another on craigslist (lucky me). When I hooked the subs up in stereo it was even better.
Great review, if using the speakon connection how do you set the volume level, obviously with the LFE.1 connection your AVR controls the volume init's auto calibration and set up
all good advice. as always, thanks Kevin! If I'm ever nearby, I'll definitely pop in! If you're ever in west London, pop in and help me sort out my stereo! Haha! :D
this guy could sell anything, wow good show
I have the issue with rel that small subwoofers that meant for smaller rooms have the issue of low hz not able to reach the bottom end so i can able to feel it. only a few subwoofers are able to go that low, like carbon and S series and 212 witch are to big for small room.
And there are more High level with speakon connections like
Mj acoustics, BK electronics, Sumiko, sonus faber like model ''gravis''
About the Speakon Connector and connecting it to the speaker terminals. No other manufacturer in the world does it that way? Wrong. I have a subwoofer from B.K. Electronics (the OEM manufacturer of the original ST line of REL subwoofers) and it also has this feature. Other manufacturers do it that way, too. Other than that, great review and keep up the good work.
Yeah i've got a BK sub and use the low level for .1 (AV) and the high level (speakon) for music
@@chrisgoodson9312 Exactly. Nowadays RUclips is as powerful as TV. If a reputable channel on RUclips states something 'it must be true'.
Wish your shop was in San Diego
This guy could sell oil to Putin😆
I'm sure REL makes good stuff, but to imply that a speaker manufacturer can't make a great sub is a bit much.
I use a Power Sound Audio S3000i dual opposed 15 inch powered subwoofer and can assure you it will do anything this REL sub will, music or movies, for quite a bit less. Power Sound Audio makes speakers, too. Jtr speakers makes even better subs than psa, and they make speakers, too. Legacy audio is another one.... speakers and subs.
REL is a nice sub, but that logic is pretty flawed.
I’m sure a doctor can perform surgery, but I’d prefer a specialized surgeon.
@@RobertMurrayteknikk7 to each their own. I offered Kevin a challenge to any subwoofer he carries if he'd be willing to pay for the airfare to get me and my subwoofer down to California I'd be glad to put mine up against anything he's got in his showroom and absolutely embarrass them all. It wouldn't matter to me if the content was music or movies. Still haven't heard any response from Kevin so I'm guessing that's a no
@@hemicuda9510 why would anybody pay your airfare so that you could arrive with an obvious bias and personally, subjectively pre-judge your favorite brand as the winner?
mind you i'm not in the REL cult. i'm far outside it in fact.
nevertheless, what you say you proposed to Kevin was crazy and it was rightly ignored
@@WeeWeeJumbo obvious bias? Umm, see the part where I acknowledged jtr is better than mine? Facts are facts, and if Kevin is going to come on here and state what he claims to be facts, I'm simply calling him out because I disagree with him. Nothing more to it. Kevin has every right to respond or not. Doesn't make my statement crazy at all. I could say Kevin's statement is just as crazy.
@@WeeWeeJumbo I guess if REL started to make speakers, their subs would suddenly become garbage. Sound pretty crazy?? That's exactly what Kevin is saying
you lost me at Neil Young
@Club Soda wait a minute now... no need to go from one extreme to the other...
