With over 400 sq in of driven area, the REL 212/SX energizes rooms in a way that's reminiscent of REL six-packs. Find out about the professional bassoonist who was finally able to bring work home (in the best way), and the professional reviewer who found the sound he'd been looking for for 40 years, all through a pair of the REL 212/SX! Love Rel I just wish they had magnetic grills to avoid seeing the peg holes when the grill is off. Would look so nice perfectly smooth.
I can’t wait to get my Klipsch La Scala’s, and these REL subs. I’ve been looking at them for over a year now. I’ve had several REL subs for the past 15 plus years. I will never buy a system without REL subs, no matter the cost!
The box piece was actually hillarious.
Love my pair of REL's. The soundstage they create is the first thing that astonishes me every time I turn my system on.
I've got a stereo pair of Rel subwoofers hooked up to my small standmount speakers (high-level) and whenever I've got guests over, I like to stick some music on. When hearing the sonic performance coming from my small speakers, more than often their reaction is to just sit there with their mouth party opened 😯
This is the Sweeeeeeet spot in the current REL ACOUSTICS line up.
Exactly, you get the tonality and precision of the high end REL's, with "only" 75% of the output a six pack of 812's make, for around half the price. I have 2 of these, and honestly don't know how anyone would need more bass in a typically sized home setting. The only thing I could see someone wanting is a 24"sub to make their hair and furniture in the room move at 0-20hz frequency levels - lol!
I absolutely love the (2) 212/sx's that I have in my living room. Paired with AV123 LS-6's, my system has been absolutely been changed for the better with them. These subs will provide destruction to your windows and walls when cranked up, but you can also audibly hear the lowest of notes, at mouse whisper volumes and that's truly what I love. I just received (2) T9x's from Upscale and matched those up to the Polk LSiM's I have in my office and once again I instantly fell in love, once I got them tuned and tweaked to match the speakers. The high pass input allows you to integrate them into your system/speakers so well, and when you have it set, the subs just disappear exactly as they say it does. I don't know what it is, other than perfection, but these subs just sound so much better than any other big sub I've used or heard, there is some magic in them that just doesn't translate to a spec sheet.
You can see @9:30 that the high level and the XLR LFE output sockets were installed slightly crookedly.
Good eye !
The man has a good, honest name.
Where is the audio graph measurements ?
I can not seem to find them .
Well now I'm confused. In the HT/1510 video, Mr. Hunter says that the Predator should be hooked up line-level when running high-efficiency speakers, because the the amp isn't giving off enough juice to use the high-level (Neutrik) hook-up effectively. Wouldn't the same be true of the 212/SX?
There are subwoofers...and then there's REL.
good one
Forgot to ask... how many square feet is considered a medium sized room?
200-400 SF per REL website
What up w that Seahawks color background? Dude.... JK. Cool info and that half apple box bit is hilarious.
Hi John! That's some time ago we have run into each other. Hope you are well!
Let me guess, you sell Rel subs...
The 212 is too tall for my room. Can it be laid on its side with its feet removed?
