Great job gentlemen. You guys look like your are having fun and yet very knowledgeable with the equipment. It’s great seeing young individuals in the HiFi world.
I owned a aurender N200 with holo May dac. Recently I have a chance to test the lumin U2 I very impressed the Lumin sound if fuller , darker background
I have owned an Aurender A10 for a few years now, a wonderful device and it was expensive even back then, but still within my budget. In recent years I have seen the A15, which was a lot more expensive, but the only one that takes the cake is the A20. I am seriously wondering what is so different about it that it costs three times as much as my A10? The only thing I am missing is the integration of ROON on my A10, which is why I have found a different solution here, the Aurender kept giving explanations as to why it didn't work, but now it suddenly works on the A20 and A30 since the last update.
Good job guys. Might I suggest you listen to a few songs in different genres for a more well-rounded review. If handled well, you won't need to lengthen the video. You did well discussing several different aspects of the sound, but you barely touched on tonality. So, I want to know which streamer does a better job at reproducing instruments and vocals, and I'd like to hear how each streamer handles bass, mids and treble in comparison with one another. Thanks.
I have a Lumin T3 and their app is exceptional. I use my NAS for music. Did you try any of the upscaling settings for the Lumin or just listened in native resolution?
I already have a great aqua formula dac so I don't need a streamer with a dac...would the Lumin U2 Mini pair well with such a high end dac❓Yes it does🤣because i'm using that setup now...got the formula dac and lumin mini streamer working together and it's magic if you have the correct pre amp, amp and speakers paired🎶
My concern with any of these pricey streamers is that we are at the mercy of them keeping their app updated. I’ve been bitten once before on a pricey Olive music server. Once a company decides to no longer update their app the device becomes useless soon after.
What is funny are the “audiophiles” buying really expensive streamers but average amp, pre and speakers. The differences are so small from 5k -20k the extra 15k is laughable
love the minimalistic approach of the X1 but I still don't see the point of these mega buck streamers... you can get the same performance or even better with a pi2aes and if you want something easier to use you have the wiim or the solo.
Great review guys. I like your comparisons in describing the sound signatures. Tell Kevin to take a step back and both of you run the show !!

Reviewing streamers, they can't afford
Thank you for the kind words! This is the best job in the world and we love music!
Thank you for featuring LUMIN X1 in this video! Some fantastic video footage too - loved the app section.
Have some 'positive praise' from us 😄

hi, so which one is better, I'm confused, I'm really interested in these two? Thanks😊
Excellent analysis. I Have a question. Some of the Aurender models have a headphone jack

Please more reviews like this. Great RUclips channel
Thank you! We have some fun videos in store!

Great feedback thank you! We are definitely audiophiles in training, but we love music and we are training our ears!
You are wrong, if using Roon Leedh is still enabled.

We have tried it personally but we tried to keep everything equal for this review.
A huge jump in sound quality if the screen turned off? Please. Different but not huge.

What about the Grimm MU-1 or MU-2?

Thoughts on the A15 versus T3 or D3?
Both sound amazing! That might be a fun video!
Lumin for Life ❤
We love Lumin!
I prefer Auralic Altair/Vega for the Win...
These are both next level in build quality, performance and price.
Kat knows streamers too
She helped teach us them!

People that whine about the price of high end gear, sigh.
The user doesn't like interface its moot 😮
Fair point!

BS Node N130 w BluOS is Android friendly. Apple, not so much 😮

It depends on the rest of your equipment. You don’t put Lamborghini tires on a Toyota Yaris. Same here.
@leeloopatsy nah, is not the same...the high end stuff begins with the source file and the dac. Spend money in streamer is not necessary
@@leeloopatsy does Lamborghini makes a tires?
The price of high end stand-alone streamers is an absolute crime, there is nothing to them.
Not true. When you a/b streamers, you really can hear the difference.
Kind of like $5000 bookshelf speakers and $1500 stands, right?
Hong Kong, Korea and Chinese are making bank and laughing at the DAC heads paying 15-20k for streamer/dac. Not paying for DAC/Steamer over 5k
lol but they aren't just "standalone" streamers...they're streamer-dacs lol. the vast majority of that cost is in the dac not the streamer.
Never trust a skinny audiophile
😂
Kevin is skinny.
