    Fyne Cabinets are made in the same polish Factory as Tannoy and some of there driver are made in Europe they just assemble in Scotland just like Tannoy

      @Audioman84 Wrong. The Autograph Mini is 100% Chinese, along with SGM or Super Gold Monitor, Eaton, Cheviot, and Arden. Drivers and cabinets. All Fyne cabinets in the current lineup are European. As are the drivers in this video. All there drivers are made in Scotland except a couple entry level models.

      @@bills8770 ok so Tannoy makes in China and fyne in Europe still both claim Made in Scotland when actually they just have industrial units in Scotland where goods turn up and they bolt parts together to then claim Made in Scotland
      Not very ethical to me both brands as bad as each other

      @@Audioman84 Hey there Fyne are made in Scotland. They are very proud of that, and they are moving to their new factory now which will give them room to grow. They have a new budget line coming out, and they will be made in Indonesia at a very well-regarded factory. But if you want a $2500/pair speaker that is FABULOUS, it has to be made elsewhere but Dr. Paul Mills designed it top to bottom. They will be available maybe Feb/March 2025

      @@upscaleaudio Come On Kevin please tell the truth You know that both Tannoy and Fyne Cabinets are made in the same factory Fyne install drivers into the Cabinets made in Poland in Scotland I see it as the one of the brands does a better job at hiding the facts I guess if Tannoy now does low budget $2500 speakers made in Indonesia then its a level playing field

    Kevin, you need to invest in a Saltire t-shit, even if most are made in China 😉. Thanks for keeping the Scottish hifi industry in the publics eye 🫶
    Happy listening to all, from Scotland.

    Out of curiosity, I have been researching Wilson audio. They seem like an awesome brand. Any particular reason why Upscale doesn’t stock them?

    What are the differences between the Vintage Classic series and the Vintage series? Am I just paying more for fancier cabinets with the Vintage series?

    • @upscaleaudio
      @upscaleaudio  Месяц назад

      The Vintage Classic series cabinets are made with solid core birch ply. They have upgraded crossovers similar to or identical to (depending on the model) the F1 Series, as well as the driver upgrades of the F1 Series. We suggest contacting a salesperson to further explain based on the specific model that you would be considering.

    I want to replace my Pylon Amber Mk2 speakers because they are too big for my 22,5 square meters room. They sound good but I want more resolution and holographic presentation in the upper mids and highs. I have PrimaLuna Evo 400-3 pre plus 2 x Evo 400-4 amp in mono configuration. My candidates are Spendor D9.2 and Fyne Audio F1-8S or Vintage 10. My room is fully treated with absorption and diffusion so it can handle a good amount of bass and sonic pressure but here in Europe we love in smaller houses and I want smaller size speakers and better resolution. Thanx for all

      @upscaleaudio  21 день назад

      Yikes! Hard to make a suggestion from here, Mr. Nebulus. But I will say this: Your electronics are amazing. The F-8S are scary good, but if you have a larger room, add a pair of REL subs. We ran that at the store and my team was teasing me because I was getting so emotional about the sound.

    I don't care where things are made, I care about quality. Japanese made was disparaged some decades ago but not so now. The same goes for Eastern European countries until the collapse of the Berlin Wall. I have Tannoy Ardens from the early 1970's and they are glorious. I also have a turntable (British) from the same era which is severely dated and has been replaced by a Japanese Technics which is superb. I think Kevin feels duped because he invested in the mythology and heritage of a brand but has rightly decided to follow the experience and expertise of the people who create the myths.

      Kevin is supporting Tannoy, his favorite brand, who are now Fyne. Tannoy is no longer tannoy, they’re just capitalising on the designs they have IP over.

      I want to thank you and @SpyderTracks . When I started with Tannoy, the factory was there. In my opinion that was the beginning of the end. Many ex-Tannoy people have some pretty tough things to say.

      Hey Gregg....you are right and I was wrong. This was October 2019, before I went to the factory in Coatsbridge. They shut the factory in 2020. The cabinet bottom trim was birch ply, and since then things have changed. There have been two Autograph minis. What exactly did they change I do not know, but I know that the cabinet and driver are both made in China now. Sucks that the once-proud Tannoy does this shit. I busted my ass for them.
