My personal favorite is the CAT 302 CR Next Generation Mini Excavator with the Engcon EC204 Tilt Rotator. As with most things, matching the correct tool to the task is important, and this huge machine excells at it's role as does the Mini Excavator at it's somewhat less demanding role! CAT makes fantastic Excavators!
@Kyle Kirsch - Try the 6000 series then, much the same, only bigger all round, with a lot more electronics and the operator is sitting approx 22 feet above the ground, - that is before he starts digging. With these machines you need a head for heights, damn good eyes, and a hell of a lot of experience - that is before the owner will let you on it.
So many operators don't adjust their seats and position to achieve smooth non jerking motions and comfort . Been doing this shit over 50 years and see it in operators old as me . Seat Mashers 🤣
swampratt36 agree mate. Nothing worse then it being laid back like a lounge chair. Proper positioning of seat is important. Add that to poor maintenance on seating. Companies well spend 100grand on a rebuild but won’t replace a worn out seat.
Matthew Telder - agreed nice & upright supporting the back.. I’ve been driving excavators 14 years now & I agree totally.. I get in some machines at our company seat laid back like there on a sun lounger arm rests pointing to the sky & no air in the seat so your arse is on the floor 🤣 hate it.. nice firm seat with straight back & level arm rests for me personally 👍
They had a couple in the UK about 20 years ago, I think they were ran by Cobex Mining out at Skares OCCS. They were never that successful, constant problems with trackpads and buckets. Sockets breaking off and things like that. Cat even gave extended warranties but, they were still not well received and proved too costly due to downtime. I think one ended up at Skipton Rock Quarry
Beautiful machine. Great video. To bad its showing southern California getting raped by developers. Developers that destroyed my home. So nice to have moved out the there. Covid is so much better to deal with here in Northern New Mexico where there's only 2 mil people in the whole damn state. And more work than I'll ever need.

Just slightly bigger than my Takeuchi tb 125 😁

Imagine all that power controlled by two joysticks and a couple foot pedals?

what a tiny trucks ....
BRIDE SCAREACROW MESSIAH 🎸🌾🎯😀👍🏾🎤
Are the tracks on the small size or it just an optical illusion ?
Sorry for the duplicate comment. Saw the answer elsewhere in the comments
Never been around something that big. Why are the tracks so much skinnier than a traditional looking excavator?
TheMrcod11 typically for rocky environments so the pads don’t get bent up and it’s easier on the travel motors to turn and such.
@@33100Gman makes plenty of sense. Just thought it would be less stable

The chain drive is so small for an excavator with that weight!
Ground Pressure is not a Criteria here. Small tracks are for Rock and hard underground - so it safes a lot of Money...
Ruston thanks for the Information!
Why are the pallets of this excavator weighing 200 tons made small? Can anyone answer the information?
Why didn't these large Cat machines sell well ,for them to stop making them ?
They were slow, unreliable and significantly more expensive than competing Japanese and European machines.

Tracks drive by chain? Propulsion hydraulic motors not visible.
Same video as June 13, 2018 - whats up?
Old version of cat 6020b
