His contact expired 2 years ago so he negotiated a new one and now that contract is expiring.
This is the last year of his deal.. and the way dax agent structured it is so that the biggest cap hit is this year his last year and I'm assuming he thought that would force the cowboys to have to renegotiate which makes total sense.. if you deserve it..Dak doesn't.. And to be honest neither does Micah right now.. he hasn't been good in the playoffs either and he actually still has a year or two left on his rookie deal and rookies aren't supposed to demand money early.. That's why the safety was kind of saying that whatever his name was

People forget that the Dallas defense was the actual let down. Not just last year but in 2019 against the Rams. I still feel like that was the best position the cowboys had and the allowed 270 rushing yards. The cowboys are a poorly ran team and they have never actually built in offense for Dak. In fact imagine what the cowboys could have done with CeeDee and Amari. Cowboys will never win with Jerry Jones.

Maybe the players union should force the NFL to reassess their tampering policy. If another team wanted come in right now and make Dak an offer, they should be allowed to do so. A player has only so many good years in them, and probably two large contracts within them. The existing tampering clause hampers a player to get paid, and feel the love from a team. What the Cowboys are doing is almost like pressuring Dak to deliver for the owner's amusement.
The college level has integrated the NIL policy within their competition, and players are allowed to seek 'employment' elsewhere if it's more lucrative for them. So why can the college level do this, and not the pro in the NFL?!?!
If Jerry truly wanted another ring they wouldn't
operate the way they have for the last 30 years. They addressed their LB issues but what about the DT position? What about the RB situation? We don't have a cakewalk schedule this coming season and, unless those areas are addressed, probably won't even make the playoffs. Depth at key positions is also a concern. Jerry has done nothing to set this team up for success let alone a deep playoff run or possible SB appearance.
