Teams are getting creative with the contracts. Lawrence base salary is around 126 mil. They gave him a guaranteed bonus of 142 million which they prorate more heavily on the back end plus his 37.5 mil signing bonus which they prorate more evenly so...he doesn't give-em a heavy cap hit till 2029 at which time he will be eligible for a new contract or they can cut their losses.

Not entirely true Jerry Jones has been playing the cap magic game for a long time he knows more than anybody on how to pay top dollar for players. There’s a bunch of loopholes where can pay players and not subtract from the cap. He’s mastered that game.

Let Lance and the rookie QB compete for the starter in 2025.

Dak & Ceedee's agent wasn't gonna take resigned seriously until other top players set the market for their own client. That'd how negotiations work. You need a floor & a ceiling to operate in. Where was all this noise when Joe burrow & Justin Herbert too forever to resign.
@@sp4de395 The Eagles and various franchises tend to make that happen every year, lets use Jordon Malaita and AJ brown (who had another 2 years on his deal i believe) as examples. Jerry does not want to risk paying someone in advance and this is the result of it. Look at Micah, he has two years left after his option was extended. The fact that they haven't had a deal reached yet for him in particular is crazy.

You never met a good player hit a contract year when you know you’re gonna resign them. Take hurts for example. He had one more year to play on his rookie deal due to him not being a first rounder and no 5th year option. They went to the superbowl and he signed. If he had waited he would’ve gotten more but the eagles are proactive. That’s todays NFL. Look at the Vikings. Had they offered Jefferson a top non QB contract last year they could’ve saved a ton. But they didn’t and had to pay even more. I agree they pocket watch but if you offer the market the markets worth early you’ll always save. Had the cowboys paid say Micah right after bosa it would’ve been expensive yes but not as expensive as it will be when he does. You are the DUMMY.

Cowboys won't be able to keep all 3 because they all want to be close to resetting the market, and they are all 3 expensive positions. The only reason the Chiefs can retain Mahomes, Kelce, and Jones is because none are trying to reset the market, and TE and DT aren't as expensive as Edge or WR. Even the Chiefs had to move off of Hill. Having your top 3 players as QB, WR, and Edge is a worst-case financial scenario. And yes, I know Micah isn't technically an Edge, but he said he wants to be the highest paid defensive player in the league, so from a financial perspective, he might as well be.
