That is the edition of Gamma World we first encountered back in the lofty 80s. It still stands out as one of the great games we played growing up and was great to play to break up AD&D games. My brother ran the heck out of this!
Loved this game, In 1st year uni (1989) we combined gamma world with Car Wars, and played in a home brew mad max world, post wwiii. We used street maps for our home town and surrounding cities and maps of the state. I think your backdrop idea is a winner, the image of the rule book is actually quite nostalgic, If you do end up with a green screen in the future, images of the old 80s and 90s black and white art is quite cool in my opinion.
Nice video as usual. This edition is my favorite edition of Gamma World, followed by the 4th edition. We started in 1st edition, then went to 2nd edition. Our campaign area was around the Barony of Horn from the GW1 Module. I also used stuff modified from TMNT, After the Bomb series, and Heroes Unlimited from Palladium Books. We also used modified powers from both TMNT and Heroes Unlimited. Also, as well as a modified version of Human Features (animals) to make animals more human looking.
I’m am currently in a Live Play group on another RUclips channel. We took a break from our Friday night 1st Edition Gamma World just for October to play Call of Cthulhu. Gamma World is super fun to play. I play a mutant that is very short has natural body armor, can generate a personal force field 1x a day, & get bonuses when ID’ing artifacts if the Ancients. His name is Bogo Jorts. Can’t wait to play him again. I play him as a bad impersonating of Yoda w/ my thick southern draw😂
I was surprised to find out there were only 2 first edition modules published, and only 2 second edition modules published. It might not have been the runaway success that AD&D was, but if you put time and effort into developing a line, it seems strange to not print a few modules. More product could get your line out to more people after all.
I have the box set you show in the video in slightly better condition. It was my dads and I played it with him and my brother a few times when we were younger. How much would something like this go for?
@@page121tabletoproleplaying4 Hey well thanks for the reply anyways and the video is very informative with some great tips on gameplay. My brother has been dying to start a new campaign for years now.
I like that they have actual pics for the monsters in this edition.
we used this as a setting for our 'thundarr the barbarian' games lol

Thanks for the video! Nifty how they adjusted real world places and made cool maps. Love it!
How more can I love this channel? I wrote a short review recommending it in my blog. Thank you and keep up the good work! Kind regards from Spain.
Thank you for the support from Spain!

GW and Twilight 2000 = my 9th grade. :)
Played this game back in the mid 80's. Loved the different races and creatures. The maps were great. Reminded me of the Sword of Shannara

I loved Gamma World 2E. I have a 4th edition unopened and I would give anything to have all my 2e stuff

six and twelve dollars?! LMAOOOOO those two items, the box set and the GM screen, are hard to come by these days for less than 100$.
You ever do a traveller gamma world planet?
No, but that could be fun.
@@page121tabletoproleplaying4 do you think the universe isn't compatible to an amber zone?
@@martinbowman1993 I think a GW world could fit right in.

I really don't know. You could check on Ebay.
