I love my new fold. My only honest complaint is the weight is very noticeable. Holding it with one hand is borderline uncomfortable after a little bit. I'm sure in 5ish years, a foldable will be much lighter.
This is basically why I'm returning it. I don't feel I can run it without a case and although I loved it for the week I used it, it did feel quite chunky, especially as I'm left handed and was mainly using it on the hinge side.
I'm running with a Spigen armor case. And the only thing I wish it had was a built in kickstand. I've added one as I did with my other case. Definitely won't be returning it. It's a great phone.
@@SMS2884 Which phone did you upgrade form before getting your new fold? I have a Pixel 8 Pro fold. Thinking of trying out a foldable. I know the cameras wont be as good but if its similar enough to the Pixel 8 then i will be fine. For the case I know DBrand is working on a grip case for it that will have a kick stand. So i will just get that later.
@@SMS2884 after one year with the original fold. The weight gets easier and easier. And I have the chunky dbrand case on her. Plus I have kids that I lift daily etc. so maybe dad strength comes into play where a phone isn't even close to the weight of a toddler being picked up with one hand. 😂
The cameras front and back, the battery life, the faster charging, the higher res display...there's a decent bit that isn't pro about the 9 pro fold unfortunately.
If Google had kept the 9 Fold Pro The same size as the original and if it had the same cameras as the 9 Pro, then I would have definitely purchased that one. Instead. I ended up trading my pixel 8 Pro on the 9 Pro because I wanted a smaller phone with better cameras. I still like the idea of the fold and I'm occasionally tempted to buy a used original one.
@@KirkWinterrowd exactly. The cameras being the same and slight screen difference doesn't have me running to upgrade. I thought about it. And I still might if a damn good deal makes it worth it. But so far nothing on it is screaming at me to replace the fold I have right now.
I've got a question. With the increased emphasis on AI capabilities at Google, do you suppose it's possible that the Pixel 10 Pro lineup may ship with 18 gigs or 20 gigs of RAM? Is it the case that the more artificial intelligence functions are done on the device, the more RAM the device will need to perform these functions?
I had the 8 Pro before it's definitely a step down. The main camera is very close, but the telephoto and especially the ultra wide are significantly "worse". But they still shoot pretty good pictures! You got to make some compromises somewhere unfortunately.
I've one, not happy at all with fold, You Tube app keeps crashing, little dent at crease which pisses me off ( looks like hinge pushes screen up) when watching films on big screen borders around it are not even, hate things like this
You people might know so I've bought a watch off of AliExpress which just runs android how would I get some of the wear os features for example controlling media from my phone and getting data shared automatically that sort of stuff any suggestions will be really appreciated
I ordered the fold because I thought a review said it had the same camera setup as the Pro. As soon as I found out about the lower grade gear I cancelled and ordered the pro XL.

The main thing that makes the pixel 9 pro xl more "Pro" is the cameras. I was hoping this year they would put better cameras in the folds.
My fold sucks at the astrophotography. Meanwhile my new Pro 9 XL is back to awesome.

I'm going from Pixel 7 pro to pixel 9 pro for that same reason. I really was interested in the gold but the cameras though

9pro / 9 Pro XL is more pro. The 9 Fold is more like a Fold 2 and dont think it should have the pro moniker.
9 pro Fold Camera to me is on par with the 9 pro XL. In real life it's barely a noticeable difference using default settings...
