Your small act of kindness in helping that tiny fish get free of the net did not go unnoticed. Be proud it is representative of the person you are. Of this whole video that is what I will remember.
Amazing how rapidly the sea takes over. The three fish you freed was a nice touch, as you took the opportunity to save three little lives. I think the life ring would have been a cool souvenir. And yes, I concur, she was rammed by another boat!
I like this videos but something about being underwater just creeps me out. It's even more creepy for me when the boat is white because it looks "ghostly" compared to the dark water background. I'll never go diving but I'll live through it with videos like this.
andy morrey This was right after the collision. They did remove fuel, oil, cleaned it up, and layed it down with enough clearance. Luckily it happened to already be within a permitted reef zone.
My exact thought, all that equipment and that close to the surface, I'm surprised they didn't raise it. For having "just sunk", awful lot of algae built up on everything already.
can u do another updated dive on CAPT LE in FH13. Curious to see how she looks a year later especially with her orientation not being bow in the sand/mud any longer
Irvington,Al is about 10 mins for me.. My Dad is a shrimper!! I actually have a lot of family in Irvington,AL and bayou LA batre,AL.. I about jump up when I saw Irvington on the back of that boat!! Been around shrimp boats all my life and have known of several sinking but not this you. Thanks for the video!!
At :42 seeing the boat underwater from above? That's so triggering, I have Submechaphobia. I just love torturing myself though because I find sunken boats fascinating at the same time.
Me too, if you wanna see the ship above water and/or an explanation to the sinking, check this out: www.ntsb.gov/investigations/AccidentReports/Reports/MAB1516.pdf
I was legit just wondering why I was so scared of being in deep water and being afraid of finding a sunken ship or any other sunken boat, car, plane, or even a body. And I was looking through the comments and I see yours and right then in there I knew that the universe was trying to let me know what was going on with me because I find looking this stuff up so fascinating but I’d be scared shitless to go exploring into the deep water with all this stuff that has been discovered in the ocean and even the stuff that hasn’t been discovered😌
@@lyssadupuis5744 yep you've got it my friend. Watch my videos on the Bermuda Triangle, awesome triggering wrecks in that doc complete with creepy music and 'unsolved mysteries-like' narration.
Actually no crew from either vessel were reported with any injuries and no crew members died as a result of this incident. You can read an article on it here. gcaptain.com/three-rescued-supply-vessel-shrimping-boat-collide/
Gary Kirk They were. This was an initial look at what we had to deal with. The entire vessel was cleaned up, nets, oil and fuel removed. Vessel clearance increased.
Bosarge Diving removed the nets and layed it over on it’s side. Been catching fish on it ever since. Interesting story from them during the operation, he said a Marlin chased a Mahi in between the barges and went bezerk as he felt a little trapped in there. LOL 😂
Idk if you mean pulling the whole boat out of the water because that would cost a lot of money and it would be difficult to even recover it due to the bow being buried deep in the dirt. What goes down stays down. That is officially a new home for marine life.
where I'm from its some bad juju to sail a sunken vessel. and even worse to pull up a sunken shrimper. one sunk at the dock once and the boats sister sunk trying to get it out.
well they already did that..... i ment that after the accident the shrimp boat was raised fuel had been removed the entire thing was cleaned up and then placed back into the water
This video is kind of a jewel of a underwater exposition. Your audio is very helpful and adds to the intrigue. Thank you.

At first I thought you were going to ignore the fish caught in the net. But you are just a old softie at heart!

Apparently, fish don't have reverse.
no they actually dont
Like literally they actually can't.
It’s not often you see a ship Sink and stand up like that.
You think they would remove it as its not that deep and a danger to other ships

I live in Mobile, but I grew up in Bayou La Batre for 23 years
Bubba? Bubba Gump is that you??? Lol
I bet you know all there is to shrimping
At 2:00, they aren't fixing THAT. That is a BIG Gash in the side. Who hit them...???
Oil Supply Boat hit them at night
Thank you. I found the report listed below in the comments after your kind remark. @@MarkPrimo
I remember seeing this boat when I would go too the blessing of the fleet.
if it is 20' there they have to get it up or put a buoy on it
What are the cords for it
Did anybody know if they were ever able to recover this boat
If its nose down, cant it theoretically fall over?

Half- Dude okay yeah definitely! That sounds dope😊
Same! 🤣🤣🤣
Great video!
did anyone know what happen , it was defiently hit from a another boat
It's sad to even watch this video, knowing member of the crew was lost

What does “FH-13” mean?
Mississippi Fish Haven Number 13
Do you have the location of this wreck????
Your obvious kindness to the trapped fish is notable, however why not cut away the nets as they are a death trap to all kinds of sealife ?
Gary Kirk They were. This was an initial look at what we had to deal with. The entire vessel was cleaned up, nets, oil and fuel removed. Vessel clearance increased.
That was a fun job to work on.
Is she still there
Yes
What did happen in the meantime with this sunken boat?
Bosarge Diving removed the nets and layed it over on it’s side. Been catching fish on it ever since. Interesting story from them during the operation, he said a Marlin chased a Mahi in between the barges and went bezerk as he felt a little trapped in there. LOL 😂
Those nets will go on fishing for a hundred years, very sad.
They were removed from the vessel as was all contaminates. It was laid over onto its side as well. It’s now a reef.
actually no, they become encrusted with marine growth pretty quickly. They don't catch much... The mesh is only 1 inch.
@@tinkertailor7385 even heavily crusted, old nets continue to catch for many years, I have seen it first-hand.
And as the ship is called?
Capt Le
Bubba Gump Shrimp: you have our sympathy Mr shrimp boat captain!
bring it back up
they did that to remove oil and fuel, plus they. cleaned it up
and then it was placed back into the water
@emily emily the nets will probably be removed soon
Nice videos Mark - Bill D
Was it raise?
They pushed it over, removed some rigging, got it in specs for the reef permit.
I’m in bayou la batre
Loads of little fishes.......
I thought that was one of the Jenny’s from the bubba Gump shrimp Corporation….
Well she definitely got hit by another vessel. Just abaft the beam on the Port side.
If I were closer to it, I would salvage it and turn the shell into a yacht. its a shame that no one has tried and just left it there to rot.

Looks like an easy salvage job for someone.
I know that boat! Lol comes from my town. Wow
What a gash ,ufffff
Cut the netting and prevent those little critters from getting stuck.
It looks like a recent wreck and in fairly shallow water, they may attempt a recovery of some sort on the equipment and items aboard
Somebody should remove these nets…. :/
Poor fishies stuck in the net
I hope they removed the nets so they stop catching fish .
Nets were removed and the wreck was laid on its side…
5
cool
Sinking it was cheaper than scrapping it.
Spooky man. Spooky
Hope they bring her back up. And put her back on line
Still looking pretty clean
Pull it out ...
well they already did that.....
i ment that after the accident the shrimp boat was raised
fuel had been removed
the entire thing was cleaned up
and then placed back into the water
Sofa king creepy!
I'll tell that dam jelly fish to take his ass on!!!!
