Mouthwatering and amazingly good sadya . So hilarious to see you cupping your hands to partake of the rasam and the buttermilk ! A tangible - touch and taste experience !
Yes we are bro. But all food is scientifically healthy. We will eat food as medicine not to fill our stomach. Thats our culture. Please non-veg part aside. That is not Indian culture. Britishers destroyed it.
I see many similarities between the way malayalis eat and how we bengalis do...start with bitter and end with payasam, mixing banana with sweet/ jaggery or papad with sweet chutney is what we also do... besides both the cultures have immense love for fish 😊
They are not started with bitter. But it's one kind of sweet they starts. Big difference in malayali and Bengalis. Ofcourse fish is authentic recipe for both state. You people don't like coconut in fish curry. But keralites do that. Similarities with tamil and telugu food habits. But it's difference in taste and quality

The rice is main course of meal, but there are 8-10 types of sambar, chutney, the person has to enjoy each of them seperately, so the rice is servd in little quantity.

Dore Fish-Bieler I would agree to everything except for the use of variety of vegetables. No buddy. In South India infact they use least variety of veggies. If anyone wants to see versatility of vegetables preparation, they should come to east India. Yes, ur kind of preparation is no doubt yummy & different.

All South Indian banana leaf meals are unique and flavour loaded. I like the jolada roti meals of Karnataka, the meals with vattal kulambu of TN, the pappu and gun powder meals of AP. But the Kerala sadya takes the crown with its flavour balance and eating order. Who says so? Mark Weins says so. Yes the guy who earns a living vlogging food around the world. He says this is the best vegetarian food he has ever had; hands down!! Wow that is something. Let's not even get started on the best non vegetarian cuisine of India!!
As an Indian, I'm aw-struck at the fact that Mark followed through the entire meal and Indian eating habits. I have seen people eat for over an hour in places that offer unlimited meals, that's how elaborate traditional Indian meals can get across India, not just south. In college, my friends and I used to eat full unlimited meal on some special puja or on days our mess was closed. We used to spend like hour plus just eating. I don't think I can eat as much today. Best part is that most of these places that offer traditional meals are very budget friendly as they win on volume of traffic.
Love the presentation. The banana leaf as platter. So pretty. The foods looks so delicious. I'm a vegetarian&have hard time getting sympathy when I dont want meat in my meals. Indian cuisine got lots of vegetarian dishes. It's due to their practice of buddhism. Same as in Thailand.
I come from Odisha. We also Have a very similar system of the Thali/Banana leaf. This system of eating is THE ART of painting inside the mouth. love it.. and craving it🤤.

Yes, More of India and the world should consider using such things because this way they can dispose of it without having to wash it which is easier for restaurants and others that don't have time to clean but it doesn't harm the environment like plastic or paper which requires cutting trees.

Every state in India has at least 10-15 unique vegetable based dishes .

yeah... Wish most places did that instead of dumping a plate full of rice every time... :)
The rice is main course of meal, but there are 8-10 types of sambar, chutney, the person has to enjoy each of them seperately, so the rice is servd in little quantity.

India is a heaven for food lovers.
Its like world of various foods
South Indian food is amazing. Endless variety, liberal use of flavors to less common to western palates (like bitter, spicy, and sour), and very healthy! Also amazing the variety of vegetables and fruits they utilize.
Welcome to land of spices and yummy food. Both veg and non vegetarian.
@@madhu6462 I know they have the least percentage of vegetarians in South India, so that makes sense. Still a lot more veggies when compared to typical Western diet.

All South Indian banana leaf meals are unique and flavour loaded. I like the jolada roti meals of Karnataka, the meals with vattal kulambu of TN, the pappu and gun powder meals of AP. But the Kerala sadya takes the crown with its flavour balance and eating order.

This is exactly how you clean up the banana leaf. Not a single rice left.
Mark is an expert in South Indian food tradition already.
I love how the guy's owning the place is so excited to show off his culture

Love the presentation. The banana leaf as platter. So pretty. The foods looks so delicious. I'm a vegetarian&have hard time getting sympathy when I dont want meat in my meals. Indian cuisine got lots of vegetarian dishes. It's due to their practice of buddhism. Same as in Thailand.
India 80%population is Hindus and practis Hinduism
Indians dont practice buddhism . 70% hindu and rest muslim ,sikh ,jain and chirtian and just mere 0.05% buddhism
And for ur information buddhist do consume meat
Thailand is the least vegeterian place i have ever seen
Thank you very much, but it's the Hinduism that most follow in India.
