    Sadhya - Is a traditional Indian vegetarian banquet feast originating in Kerala, India. It’s not just a meal, but it’s an entire event, an experience of vegetarian food, natural ingredients and combinations of Ayurvedic medicinal values. There’s so much tradition involved, from the way you mix and match your different dishes, to the way you order your different dishes, and mix the sweets and salty dishes.
    I can say without a doubt, this was the best vegetarian food I’ve ever had in my life. It was a meal experience.
    Mothers Veg Plaza - Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Price - 200 INR ($2.78) per person, all you can eat. But usually by the first round of all the dishes, everyone is pretty full. I had a few more helpings of rice and curry to end this spectacular Indian food vegetarian feast.
    Thank you to Ebbin from ‪@FoodNTravel‬ for taking us on this ultimate Indian food tour of Kerala, India!

      It's like meat based dishes from the gulf, most south indian dishes kind of bring out the original flavour of the vegetable or fruit or the yogurt. They also add a little bit of sour, sweet for taste.
      In the north, it's more about adding alot of spices to accompany the veggies there.

These people are the best in the world no matter wherever u found them they are always helpful be it in any situation. The food the culture the tradition the respect they give to others are just unbelievable. Apart they are incredibly talented in every field they work. Majority are business minded & no one can catch them in this field. We are lucky to have Kerala as a part of Indian culture.

    • @venkatram809
      @venkatram809 4 года назад +4

      @@RockstarEater NO, the items served for a sadya can vary in number, qunatity,Most of the items served are traditional and their system is even centuries old. In such items even any mix up or FUSION, or adding some new veggies etc is not encouraged. Right from selection of vegetables till the removal of the leaf after eating has its own reasoning, and justifications. For a Sadhya by a rich family, perhaps the number of items may go up, or they may ADD some new food items over and above the traditional items. For example a poor man;s sadya may have 10 items with one Payasam, where as a rich guy can make 5 types of every thing (five chips,five papads, five sour curries, five sweet curries,five sweets....... ! Hence any variation or likeness is just a case of "FINANCE" and there is no coincidence.

    South Indian food is amazing. Endless variety, liberal use of flavors to less common to western palates (like bitter, spicy, and sour), and very healthy! Also amazing the variety of vegetables and fruits they utilize.

If anyone wants to see versatility of vegetables preparation, they should come to east India. Yes, ur kind of preparation is no doubt yummy & different.

    As an Indian, I'm aw-struck at the fact that Mark followed through the entire meal and Indian eating habits. I have seen people eat for over an hour in places that offer unlimited meals, that's how elaborate traditional Indian meals can get across India, not just south. In college, my friends and I used to eat full unlimited meal on some special puja or on days our mess was closed. We used to spend like hour plus just eating. I don't think I can eat as much today. Best part is that most of these places that offer traditional meals are very budget friendly as they win on volume of traffic.

    I see many similarities between the way malayalis eat and how we bengalis do...start with bitter and end with payasam, mixing banana with sweet/ jaggery or papad with sweet chutney is what we also do... besides both the cultures have immense love for fish 😊

You people don't like coconut in fish curry. But keralites do that. Similarities with tamil and telugu food habits. But it's difference in taste and quality
