    Love this guys videos. Can you give a walk through how to use the u scope for relative compression test etc. I know how to use pico where to find the menus in uscope

      Thank you! I don't really use the uScope for those type of things I use it more like a Graphing Multimeter. I will look into the features and maybe I'll do a video on it. Thank you for watching!

    Dejavu! Had this exact issue with the exact e450, i really struggled with the diag but i finally just jumped a ground just like you did, Crazy , this must be a common issue, i remember even putting a post up on one of my FB groups, i was asking if the signal ground wire should have 5V on it, i never got a clear answer, good video

    Thanks so much for your time. What's my understanding you connect pin 58 which grount from pcm to IAT with pin50 which ground to pcm?

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  11 месяцев назад +1

      The PCM is supposed to ground on pin 58, but internally it was bad. Instead of replacing the PCM I just jumped constant ground to that circuit.

    Great video!!
    Going through the same negative 40 on the scanner, p0113.. I plan on going through the wiring diagram tomorrow. Did you just splice to another switchable ground??

    hi , I have a similar problem on a 2004 expedition 4.6, I was hoping this video would help me figure it out but I had already bypassed the ground and it changed nothing. the symptom is that the IAT gives a reading that is about 145 degrees F. more than the actual temperature which stops the drive cycle tests from starting because the testing parameter on the high side is exceeded , the PCM reads it at about 248degrees . The vehicle runs pretty good , the IAT sensor is good , the maf is good , getting 4.62 v from the PCM and a good ground but i ran a direct ground straight from the battery just to make sure. The IAT fluctuates as if zero degrees =145degrees. I wrapped the sensor in ice just to make sure it was working and the IAT reading dropped to 176degrees or freezing (32degrees) +144degrees. So any ideas from anybody would be appreciated. My next move is to trace the 4.62 v. wire back to the PCM in hopes that somehow the low volt reading has something to do with it (I doubt it though) thanks anybody ,Brad

      also there were no trouble codes...I have checked out all of the circuitry wiring now, I'm left with (1). faulty new part or p c m problem. Also the volts being sent back to the p c m show about .5v which corresponds to the high temp reading ....it should be about 2volts .

      I learned all the fundamentals from @scannerdanner, The rest comes from on the job.

    For you guys saying nice job do you really understand what he just did? He hacked up the factory wiring harness to make the check engine light go out. Do you want to be the unsuspecting customer who buys that truck now?

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  Год назад +1

      It's not making the check engine light go out its supplying a ground that makes the sensors work as intended. I also leave a wiring diagram in the car showing what I've done and how to put it back to factory.

      It got repaired with the customers knowledge and consent. Repair record with description is in place therefore if the owner ever sells the vehicle he may or may not share the repair. Either way, what is your problem? Sometimes this type of repair needs to be considered as an option. Great job ALD!
