This was so touching!! God bless Maurice Cheeks and his family, one of my favorite point guards next to Isaiah Thomas, but favorite of all was the doctor! I love Dr. J.
Agree, because almost all the players from the other teams used Dr. as rep, interesting/ because when they were growing up, they emulated/ wanted to be doc!
No was and is in a class of great men. What team could say they had 3 hall of fame human beings, which is harder than basketball hall of fame.Bobby Jones,No and Dr.J.
What a total class act and humble man Mo Cheeks is. He's the embodiment of what his mother put in him to being the man that he is. This honor was well deserved.
Did not root for the 76ers. However I would take Mo as my number one point guard. Number one defensive player. Always shut down the so-called superstars. His Assist to -turnover ratio was always superb! Tops in steals as well. Clutch shooter when it mattered. How about at the end of his career when he led the Knicks over the Celtics in the playoffs. Emotional/beautiful Hall of Fame speech. Congrats MO!!!
I'm so proud to say I attended DuSable High School when Mo Cheeks played for the Panthers. I too grew up in the Robert Taylor Homes. Those of us who watched his career from the very beginning feel we were a small part of his success. What a great story.
he was a great on both defense and offense 4 time 1st defensive team , 12000 points 7000 assists and has a ring .......why did it take so long to induct him ?!!!
Mo Cheeks was the first player that I saw growing up in Philly that I tried to play like, he finished as the third assist pg in the nba when he retired and he played great defense, he was also a great half court and full court Pg Long over due.
Mighty DuSable, you made us all proud of you again. They finally gave you your due. Mitchell Moseley was smiling from heaven along with coach Brown and Moon Cookie. SJ
It was a long wait but he should be there and so should Norm Nixon those two were tops in the NBA during the late 70s early 80s.they both were big time players on teams at that time who played in championships and deep in the playoffs every year.
Several thoughts 1. How many NBA Hall of Famers has asked Julius Erving to escort them on stage to receive the award. 2. Maybe one of the greatest moments in sports was when Maurice Cheeks assisted that young girl with the national anthem. 3. Maurice Cheeks is a class act and very good player, but is he Hall of Fame worthy? If so, then you need to select Tom Chambers.
The story about his brother was very sad. He was murdered when Mo was in the NBA, late in his career, I think with New York. I think it was just a robbery or something. He left his job, went to a bar, and got carjacked and killed. Something to that extent
Tom Byorn You can tell he’s so well liked and respected. Inductees so often choose him as a presenter. Both younger players who looked up to him growing up and teammates as well.
blyeone Scottie Pippen did. I mean, Jordan was an unbelievable player, but I don’t think too many HOF indcutees are going to be talking about what a kind human being Jordan is lol
I just love that man! A real fine person and a helluva player!
MO CHEEKS WAS LONG OVERDUE (RETIRED '93) FOR THE HOF... C'MON MAN!!!

That is real love.
Second on most steals per game in Playoff history.

national anthem moment is fantastic.
Mo Cheeks!!
Mo got in there. 4th quarter come around, Little Mo damn near wouldn't let you get it over halfcourt
Mo was the General on the Court.
he's got ears like Spock . Great backcourt duo with Andrew Tony
The story about his brother was very sad. He was murdered when Mo was in the NBA, late in his career, I think with New York. I think it was just a robbery or something. He left his job, went to a bar, and got carjacked and killed. Something to that extent
He was killed right off 111th exit off the Calumet expressway now the Bishop Ford
Yeah he was robbed @ Pullman bank ATM
im sure he heard it his whole life "maruice imma bust yo cheeks"
WOW
6:48 Dr. J
Dr J my favorite of all time not only because he was a great b-ball player, but a great man as well
Tom Byorn You can tell he’s so well liked and respected. Inductees so often choose him as a presenter. Both younger players who looked up to him growing up and teammates as well.
@@maniacmasturbator2411 he's like a father figure. I can see why
finally
why does no one ever say nice thing about MJ
blyeone Scottie Pippen did.
I mean, Jordan was an unbelievable player, but I don’t think too many HOF indcutees are going to be talking about what a kind human being Jordan is lol
This comment did not age well
Seems like he has never read a teleprompter before.
He couldn't carry Dennis Johnson's jock strap.
