The down fall on the truck is it’s slow take offs. Mine also tends to lag off the line break boosting or not. It has a stutter to it, but when you’re just cruising and then hit it that’s where it shines. More of a roll racing little truck than straight off the line.

This is so awesome. Surprised me when reviewers were saying to 2.0 is nice but not that fast. Cars are just bonkers these days 0-60 in sub-6 is fast no matter how you slice it. This is faster stock than a Mustang GT back in the early 2000s.
Right on dude! I had a hunch this would go at least low 14's with just a tune, there's no doubt in my mind it would do 13's with a splash of ethanol and a little more boost/timing. Thanks for doing this, so cool to have a back to back comparison instead of just guessing. That said, I can't help but feel you're losing a few mph in the backhalf running out 4th gear through the traps. I think if the 4-5 shift was commanded at 91-92mph you might pick up a MPH or two just from that change alone. Also, could you ask your tuner to do a log when you brake boost? Seems to me it's pulling timing? It has the momentary "delay" that you wouldn't expect when brake boosting. Looking forward to the next revision. -Jimmy
I was looking at getting the maverick but was also looking at the Santa Cruz just to be different but hyundai is charging for the turbo version of the 2.5 and limited would you recommend that 2.0 definitely over the hybrid not planning on heavy towing but am looking for reliability and enough power to get out of it's own way?
Can't speak for the hybrid. But I got the 2.0 specifically because of the higher power from factory and there will he more gains to be had from it over the hybrid.

If it comes down to looking at your faults and a major issue happened that you have to exercise the warranty, they can and might . We’ve all seen the contracts they set up to legally reject claims that will cost the wareanty provider, its about making money.
There is no such thing as voiding the entire warranty. Modifying the vehicle to operate outside of factory parameters can be used to deny a warranty claim if the modification could plausibly cause the failure. In other words if you tune it and blow the motor they will be entirely within their rights to deny that claim, but if the headlights stop working that'll still be covered.

@@strider8933 call some local dealers let them know you are looking and they will call you, when someone decides they don't want their order anymore,( a lot of people get sick of waiting and buy something else) if you call about 3-5 , you should find one with what you want in a few weeks, they will call you asap when they have one sitting. just try to avoid markups, some will sell it MSRP some will mark up, I myself, jumped on my first one I found with $15 K markup on a fully kitted out Tremor package. and yet I'm still happy with it. $51K total

You and that fella you're working with are pioneering Maverick tunes, and no doubt by the time you're done, you'll have the fastest Maverick out there. This uses the 8F35 trans which is rated for a max of 260 ft-lbs I believe, aren't you worried about the longevity considering it's already under engineered for the factory engine output?
Guy upgraded his turbo and now regularly drives with 350ft-lbs, when posed the same question he said, he feels that its up for the task. but he is also not afraid of having to replace it if/when need be. If you drive your vehicles hard, making fast pulls like this, no you're not too concerned with longevity. you want it to last 400K miles, drive it like a granny.
My 70 Chevelle SS396 (402) with open headers and a Holley 650 spread bore double pumper and Hays electronic ignition back then did 14.20 @ 98.19 @ Riverside Raceway. It was known to be a slightly uphill 1/4 mile as it used a backwards run on part of the back straightaway. Still those cars were not that fast.
someone put a Corsair 2.3T Turbo from a Lincoln, and is getting 4 sec 0-60 and I think he just ran a 12 sec quarter , just the turbo a upgraded intercooler, cold air intake, and a tune. he said the turbo matched up perfectly without any need to mod, other then cutting a couple groves into the stock hoses to get them to fit.
I bet with a few minor bits like a better intercooler, I think Ford's cooler sucks if memory serves me correctly, that little Maverick will be a real quick little truck.
What did your tuner use to tune? I think the best bang for your quarter mile buck would be to remove the torque management so you can actually launch it under some boost. Maybe get down to the 1.9 60' area.... Good runs though!
Quick question...I have been following many of your Maverick vids but you do these runs in Mexico? Does it protect you from the law in the USA? Also, aren't your worried about being pulled over by the Mexican police?
On a couple of those slower passes it sounded like the trans might have shifted early, if the truck had paddle shifters might knock another tenth or two off the 1/4 et.....Great vids....Go Hawks

To keep it under warranty you can only mess with exhaust and drop in filter, anything else is a stretch unfortunately

Its definitely not under engineered for the factory output. And no I'm not worried about the extra 60ish lb/ft
