So Dr. Dray, I stopped your video to make these comments before they slip my mind. I can discern that you are a very good doctor by not only your personal knowledge of these products but by your broad spectrum of care for your youtubers and paitents. The fact that you mention that the ointment may be difficult for those with mobility issues really struck me. You also mention those living in various climates and those with certain conditions where a different product may be better. I am impressed. Also, as a side note, love the red top! Love the bright colors you've been wearing & your hair! 😊

As a guy, I took a leap of faith with the Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 cream. This was before I really knew anything about skincare and was just beginning. Once I really started getting more into skincare and the ingredients in products is when I started to question some things in my routine, including this. It's a huge relief to hear your insight about this product because I relatively felt the same of whether it was just in my head but it really helped with keeping my skin hydrated and leaving a smooth texture to my skin. I use this both morning & night and you really need only a dime-size amount for your entire face! It's amazing. Also, to combat the stringiness she mentions in the video, I began using a tongue depressor as a way to get the cream out to avoid the stringiness by getting the amount I need on one side then flipping over and scraping the excess off on the edge and usually you don't get the stringiness along with it. Then I just put it in my hand and apply to the face from there! I don't know if this is good or bad to do but it has worked for me. I'm just not a fan of dipping my fingers into a jar repeatedly, whether that makes a difference or not, idk.

@@MyCrownstar Over the course since making this comment I have continued using this moisturizer and it is still my go to. I've only used 1 jar since (3.52oz). If that at all can give a representation to those interested of how little you need to keep your skin nice and moisturized!
I'm glad to hear there are more options for people! Personally, I'm going to stick with the jar version of this product as over time I've become accustom to using it this way. It's also made me happy with knowing I can get every last bit of product out of the jar! In comparison to my sunscreen that comes in a tube, I've had to cut it open when I thought I ran out only to notice I had about 3-4 more uses left! If you use the tube version, consider doing this to make sure you get the most out of your product and get your money's worth! :)

Thoughts on Dr Dray’s repurchases from someone with mature, dry, sensitive skin: 1.Hadalabo cleansing oil is my 💯 holy grail! 2. I’ve found no improvement to skin quality, texture, healing from the CosRx snail mucin products for my mature dry sensitive skin. 3. Cerave healing ointment is fabulous. The whole family uses & loves. It’s tied with our love of Aquaphor. 4. Vanicream is also a family fave, definitely prefer over Cerave body lotion’s more waxy texture. 5. Not a fan of the LP (too shiny) but love the DRMTLGY untinted spf. 6. NG facial hydroboost stings, but love love Aveeno Clam & Restore. 7. I prefer DRMTLGY body exfoliating lotion (with lactic acid) for feet and hands over Kerasal or Dermatonics. Seriously no need for professional mani/pedi after using it. I definitely need to try pro cure. Has anyone else tried it for mature dry irritated skin? Hope other over 50 beauties found this helpful 💜.

I have used the Eucerin Daily SPF 30 as my moisture lotion for many years because of its light non-greasy feel, but I have added several new products to my skincare arsenal. ColoreScience Tinted Mineral Sunscreen, Vanicream facial cleanser, Vanicream moisturizer for the face, Cerave nighttime facial moisture, adapalene gel, and body sunscreens from Cerave, Neutragena, or Eucerin. Cerave healing ointment is a must-have, and I now reapply sunscreen during the day. I've also trie the Kerasal foot ointment--it's a lot less expensive than a pedicure. (1&2) You don't have to choose between Aveno Calm and Restore and Neutrogena Hydeoboost! Aveno in the evening, and Neuteogena in the AM. I too hope they are never discontinued!
(3&4) Hada Labo Cleansing Oil and PCA Skin Daily Clensing Oil are tied as favorites when it comes to an oil cleanser.
    (5) Team Cerave Ointment all the way (we may have a tube in each room of our house).
Other favs (6) Cerave PM Lotion, (7) Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion, (8) Elta MD UV Physical Broad-Spectrum 41 tinted, (9) Avene XeraCalm (only thing we have found that keeps a couple eczema flair points under control for my daughter). (10) Not a product that you repurchase, but over the years I continue to use a high-frequency wand with argon. If a cystic nodule begins to pop up, I zap it 2x per day for a day or two, and it is nearly gone without coming to the surface or causing discoloration! I didn't notice the benefits when my acne was persistent, but now that it is under control I notice a huge improvement in treatment when I take the extra time to pull out this device when necessary.

I grew up on the east coast and my skin was very oily, hardly needed moisturizer. A couple years ago, I moved to Colorado and the lack of humidity in the air definitely took a toll on my skin, especially when I started using Retin-A at 0.05%. My skin needed all of the moisture and hydration! I started using the Vanicream gentle facial cleanser and the Cetaphil moisturizing cream at night and what a difference it has made with the dryness and peeling from Retin-A use. Would have never thought I would use a thick cream on my face due to my skin type, but with the dry climate and using a retinoid, I can totally relate to Dr. Dray with using more moisturizing products at her time in Colorado!

    • @Tny.1
      @Tny.1 2 года назад +3

Did you know that having oily skin and therefore not needing moisturizer is a myth? When your skin becomes dehydrated, it can overcompensate by producing more oil, which can then lead to more breakouts (if acne-prone). So you can still be oily, but dehydrated at the same time. It's better to moisturize than to not. Just have to find one that's not very thick and will not suffocate your already oily skin. I have very oily skin myself and using a gel moisturizer plus a niacinamide serum really helps with keeping the oil production at a minimum.

Love hada labo! But guess what I do with this oil?! I have the Inkey List oat balm, which has great ingredients. It's super thick though, and therefore less "slip". So I squirt a small amount of this balm in my palm (about the size of a Hershey kiss), THEN I give two squirts of the hada labo oil to thin it. Together they make the perfect medium consistency with great "slip". It's not too thick, and it's not watery and running all over my hands. After this mixture is thoroughly distributed into my skin, and I a tad bit of water, it emulsifies BEAUTIFULLY into an extra milky substance that rinses off especially well. I enjoy that I also get the combined ingredients of both products. I follow up with the Vanicream facewash. Try it! :)

I just started using the Hada Labo Goku-jyun Milk Lotion just to add some more moisture into my routine and I am loving it so far. Also loved that I can just get a refill of it 👍🏽

I use the "lotion" - it has hyaluronic acid so I don't need to spend the extra $ on Neutrogena Hydroboost, unless I see it at a discount store!

I have been double cleansing since I could remember. Everyone I know back home double cleanses. In Japan, DHC cleansing oil is the gold standard. But any oil is good to double cleanse is good. I love that she is spreading this awareness.❤

Just purchased the oil and “snail moisturizer”. I need a good nighttime moisturizer to go over my serum and this wasn’t terribly expensive. I’m going to give it a try.

I love the Neutrogena Hydroboost extra dry gel cream. I've also tried the Aveeno calm restore oat cream, but I think Neutrogena's formula leaves my skin feeling softer. I have a very oily t-zone, but the "extra dry" works very well for me. I use it at night since it has no SPF.
Another product Dr. Dray introduced me to that I live by is the CeraVe tinted moisturizer SPF 30. I like to look natural, and that's difficult having oily skin, but CeraVe's tinted moisturizer has decent coverage and keeps my skin looking matte for longer than any other tinted moisturizer I've ever tried. I've compared it to bb creams, foundations, everything! but none compare. It's as if CeraVe's tinted moisturizer sucks up the oil and prevents me from looking shiny. Granted, I do develop a shine after about 3 hours of wear, but that's a long time for minor maintenance compared to other brands.
Thank you, Dr. Dray for improving my skin care routine and helping me see that a glow from SPF can be beautiful!

      T. LeClerc loose face powder is amazing for oily skin. It contains rice powder and is recommended by French dermatologists for sensitive and acneic skin. Every time I use it, I get compliments on my skin! Been using it for decades. A 28gm tub contains 3x as much powder as American brands, so that offsets the cost. I apply it on top of sunscreen for a perfect finish.

There are so many products that I’d love to try but aren’t available to ship to Canada. Also I find the prices of some are crazy. The cerave products are mostly available thank goodness. I also love Cetaphil and The Ordinary. Love ya Dr Dray!
