    Hey all! I purchased one of these to try it out. I have an Octo 8 card. Seems to work just as well for my purposes. Less bells and whistles for sure but I don't need that extra stuff anyway. I came with some superficial damage from delivery which was handled within hours of emailing them. So, good customer service as well. At this point I'd recomend it. I'll update this post if anything changes.

    I've seen chassis like these for $300 on alibaba. Cheap construction. Timebomb no-name Chinese "mining psu". Bought some myself last year. Why would I spend close to $900 just so that it automatically drops fan speeds?
    I feel the same way about Octominers, but at least the manufacture quality and PSU configuration (takes HP server PSUs, can easily replace) on those are better.

      the motherboards are junk tbh. the pins for the pcie cables are the worst possible design in history, perfect for snagging any piece of dust or hair that enters the case, creating shorts when the humidity rises. shenzen market pcb's with 0 quality control

    Great to see these made and shipped from the US so you don't have to have the huge lead times! I don't see why these companies cheap out on the power cable gauge though. What can it cost? Another $10-$20 per unit to go with heavier gauge wires? Seems worth it to me considering the first time someone posts pictures of melted power wires it's going to kill your sales (even if it's the users fault). Also seems a weird choice not having video/USB (connected) on the front so you don't have to get behind the unit if you need to hook up to the console. Few tweaks and I'd probably go with them going forward :)

    The only reason why I am thinking of upgrading my cases to Octominer is the fact that they have hot swappable PSUs. I have MiningBox and the fans on some of the PSUs can be extremely noisy (louder than the 5 120 fans! Then again, I'm not using them in a barn or a separate mining space so noise is an issue.

    • @Prophetian
      @Prophetian 2 года назад

      @Jesus is Lord not applicable for server cases, especially for 3090s where you need A LOT of pcie cables. I did change the fans on the PSUs, that helped. Once you try server PSU, you'll never look back!

    • @Prophetian
      @Prophetian 2 года назад

      @Jesus is Lord server PSUs are quiet, but the PSUs that come with these server cases AREN'T. exception being Octominer because they come with actual server PSUs. Noise is definitely an issue for me but it's manageable.

      @@Desertjoe789 I guess it depends on your mining room setup and what you want to achieve. If you want to be efficient with space and need to scale up, a server case will be required. Then designing your own racks might be a good option (out of extruded aluminum).
