- District Attorney Steve Mulroy, Mayor Paul Young and Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis are seeking to increase the penalties for carrying guns with switches that make them automatic.
It’s already a federal crime up to 20 years in prison damn stupid politicians enforce the laws that are on the books and stoop letting these thugs walk

I saw on the news that dude got caught with 25 switches and only got 5 years when it’s supposed to be 10 years per switch! That is ridiculous and anyone that gets caught with one should get all that fed time!

@@nu2u181 yes just the other day on the news and now there basically telling everyone that it’s not a serious enough charge unless they change the law and basically begging the feds to prosecute the cases but if someone who was a staunch 2A supporter was to get caught with one they would make an example out of them and give them 10+years!

If you enforce the laws currently on the books and stop allowing criminals, people who have already violated their bonds, and repeat offenders to have such low bonds, this neighborhood will be safer.

The Memphis economic and violent crime reduction bill..
1. Set minimum age at 12 that be pled down
2. Set minimum sentences
3. Car Breakins 12 months per offense to be served consecutively
4. Carjacking 5 years per offense..
5. Possession of stolen firearms 12 months per offense and per item..
6. 5 year automatic enhancement for using firearm in the commission of any of the above offenses
7. 12 months if caught as a passenger in a stolen vehicle
8. 3 years for possessing an illegal alter firearm/ per item
9. Ability to pay will not apply to repeat and violent offenders
