Hi Friend..I am so glad I watched this video. I am about to try my hand at restoring vintage Coach bags. Thank you!! I bought 3 bags . I hope the people who sold me my bags watched your video. I will make sure to follow your directions. Great video. HUGE help! Thank you for sharing ❤️
Hi friend! Beware, it's addicting restoring vintage Coach bags! LOL! These bags are tanks. The quality cannot be beat by any other brand, in my opinion of course. Hope you're doing well and having a wonderful day 🌹
I just saw your comment…Yes!! You are so right 😂❤ I still haven’t rehabbed yet. I have purchased everything I have so far. If you are selling anything I would be thrilled to own something you own❤️
New subbie here beautiful bags iam excited I found your channel I have bags that I purchased as a younger women and iam trying too restore them I did not realize then that I was mis treating them. Iam gonna invest in leather dye and see how that goes do you know of a particular rand I should use ?
Hi friend, and welcome to the channel! Glad to have you join our community 🌹 I always use Fiebings leather dye, but have you tried cleaning the bag in soapy water? MANY times that's all it takes. Then condition the leather. I have a video on this to show you how to do it if you want to watch it, it will help. Hope you're having a wonderful evening 🌹
There's still too many RUclipsrs and bloggers who suggest using coconut oil. Some people fiercely defend it saying that coconut oil has a shelf life of five years and it's like, do you throw your bags away every five years? It's not meant for leather! Most of my vintage Coach bags were obtained by people who wanted to trash them due to corner/piping holes created by shoe polish. My personal favorite method so far for fixing them is to mix leather friendly adhesive (that's flexible when dry) with acrylic paint to match the color of the bag. Sometimes I have to build layers, but the results have been satisfactory. I've spoken with two other collectors who use an acrylic gel medium, which doubles as a flexible adhesive, and they cover the dried gel with acrylic paint, or leave it alone if the hole isn't too big. I've had some people tell me I'm wasting my time, but such repairs are easy and cheap. It may not be ideal to some, but neither is throwing away a beautiful bag that still has plenty of life left! I forgot to add (yeah I know my comments are always way too long!) that Moneysworth & Best make excellent leather creams as well! They have a decent library of colors, and I've been pleased with the results.
Hi friend, I know a couple who has sent bags to Coach for repairs and one repair was piping, they replaced piping with leather binding and had much success. I've never had to send a bag in for repair, I've only used Apple Care or Coach Leather conditioner and always stayed away from everything else. Thank you so much for your comment and it's NEVER too long! You gave great tip and it could probably come in handy for someone! Thanks for your comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Man, you're amazing! Thanks for these tips! I won't leave mines to dry any longer but I've conditioned when semi dry! Does help! AND NEVER USE SHOE PRODUCTS horrible! Shoe polish is the worse, I had to fully restore the leather on a Court bag due to previous owner using shoe polish. Thanks a ton for posting this vid!! Peace and love friend ❤
You're so very welcome my friend! For the life of me I will never understand WHY some will use shoe polish! You're absolutely right it's the worse thing to do! I've had to restore a couple bags several times to get the polish off a bag! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment, I truly appreciate you very much 🌹 have a wonderful day 😊👍
I swear you are a source of such great info!! I appreciate you sharing your tips and how to's! I dunked my bag like you said and used the blow dryer till dry. Followed up with the Coach Conditioner applied with my hands. I live in Florida so the tips on how to stuff the bags and silica gels are priceless! Thank you.
I am so glad I found your channel! I love Vintage Coach and I am trying to learn how to restore and keep them as pristine as possible, yours are like brand new! Oh wow!
I'm so glad to have you here! Glad I can help in some way 😃👍 Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day my friend!
Dear friend, trust me when I tell you that's the worst thing to use on your vintage Coach bags. Might be okay on other types of leather but definitely not vintage Coach. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Guess I’m a little late seeing this video but oh, so helpful. I have an original Maggie and got it out of the closet to use. My question is..I went to kiwi and they have only black dye. I can’t use that on blue so what other dye is available in colors?
Hi friend! I use Fiebings leather dye, but when it comes to spot dye around corners I use the Kiwi leather dye and have only seen it in black or white and I make sure it says leather dye instead of shoe polish. When it comes to other colors and it's just the corners I'll use a small brush and use the Fiebings dye that matches the color. But for a full dye job I'll use the Fiebings. Hope I'm making sense 😂 Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
@@birdieberghuis8800 I'm sure your Maggie will be absolutely beautiful! If I remember correctly it's a bucket style? Seems like I had one or still do, I was very much into the bucket bags and still do like them. Enjoy your gem ☺️👍 have a wonderful day 🌹
@@vintagecoachcollector I looked up Fiebings and saw the dye colors. To lighten the blue, is there an additive for that? Guess I’ll wait till I clean the bag and see how it helps.. thank you so much.. you inspired me to get Maggie out and use her again.
@@birdieberghuis8800 I never went lighter on a bag, always darker or the same color. Fiebings has light blues, just about any color you need. I have mixed colors together to get a perfect match for a certain color, mabe mix white with a blue until you get the right shade, other than that I wouldn't know, sorry 😐 hope you find what you're looking for and have a wonderful day 🌹
I’ve been following your advice on cleaning and rehabbing vintage Coach and I’ve brought a bunch of bags back to life and sold them for someone to enjoy. Thank you. 🌼
Hi friend! I only use the kiwi leather dye for around the corners and have a video on doing it, it has a sponge on the tip of the bottle that makes it easier to do. Thanks so much for watching and I hope you're doing well and staying safe 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Hello friend, what a beautiful collection, the extra dangling accessories & scarf made it more attractive, I’ve seen the Broadway bag in one of your videos & I fell in love with it, the Rambler is an eye catcher, I’ve seen one online for sale , but not just good as yours, almost like new condition.I think it’s how you take such good care of them, thanks for sharing about the the tips in caring for the bags, now I know what to do with mine.
Wow! You’re such a wonderful resource .I love using the Coach leather conditioner, too, on my vintage Coach and any of my other bags, too. ( it brought a Balenciaga City bag that I purchased on Poshmark back to life!) I can’t imagine using any kind of oil, because I’d worry about smells and my bag getting sticky. 😩
Hi friend, Thank you so much for your support 🌹 yes oils and waxes can make a bag sticky too you're right, that's because it's braking down the leather. Glad you are taking care of your beautiful gems ☺️ Have a wonderful day 🌹
@@vintagecoachcollector Hi I have a question about the leather cream and wax in general. If they will make leather stiff, why are they invented in the first place, claiming that it will add a protective layer? Thank you! And what is your opinion of adding a seal on old coach (I think most bags are finished to protect the leather? Correct me if I am wrong). Thank you!
Hi friend, yes absolutely! But make very sure to rinse the bag well afterwards. I only use saddle soap if I'm out of the Apple Care cleaner or Coach brand cleaner. But saddle soap is fine if you rinse very well. Thanks so much for watching and I hope you have a wonderful day 🌹
I only have one vintage coach bag that I recently acquired. Glad I used your tips including the apple care conditioner. Thank you!! You are so helpful. Have a great day, friend :)
Hi friend, I'm so glad I can help! These bags are true gems and deserve to be treated as such 😊👍 Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Hi friend, I have over 500+, just 200 or a few more are Coach. I have a serious problem!!! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
I have a British tan bag that has a small darker stain on it. What dye can I use for British tan to just even out that stain? I like the color as it is so don’t want to change it too much. Thanks!
Hi friend, did you try dunking it? Many times it could be a water stain. Fill the sink with warm soapy water and clean the bag and let it soak for about fifteen minutes, then rinse and dry the bag. It will even out the color. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day 🙂👍
I hope it's okay that I'm asking something a little off topic - where do you get those beautiful bronze hang tags? Or are they gold toned? They look gorgeous with the vintage Coach bags! I've heard that Coach will send replacement tags if you call them, but I've never tried that, and I want to request tags that will match the vintage hardware because it's such a classic look.
Hi friend, I have a video on the hangtags, these are gold or silver to match the hardware I've gotten many from Coach you're allowed three a year. But the thicker ones and the leather ones you have to purchase. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
This is great advice! I clean my bags in water and stuff them with towels. One of them just turned a little stiff, like you mention. It also came with some writing in permanent marker. I tried alcohol but nothing seems to work and I don't want to ruin it. Your suggestions will be appreciated. I love your beautiful bags, they look impeccable. Thank you!
Hi friend, if the bag has permanent marker I would just dye the bag. I found that if I blow dry the bag and stuff after it's dried it turns out much better and the leather is so soft. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 you're truly appreciated 🙂 have a wonderful day!
Gotta admit you do have the best Coach collection on the tube. Actually the best ive ever saw! Thanks for the tips such an amazing video! I'm one of the subbies who told you about miss repeat telling her subbies not to take their bags serious and to use shoe polish lolol Reason why her bags look the way they do and she said it's because they're vintage they will look like that. Gotta laugh!
Hi friend ☺️ I think most use it because they're told it's okay and they really don't know any better. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day 🙂👍
I never could understand the shoe polish on handbags! There's a youtuber telling people not to take their bags serious and she admitted to use shoe polish and claims to have authoritie on vintage coach Hahaha such a fool. Thanks for your great content YT needs more people like you!!!
Well my friend, I wouldn't call someone a fool, they're probably just ignorant of the vintage bags, but saying they have authority on it certainly doesn't make them look like a wise person. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
😍 Omg this is a beautiful collection. Lady, you have the most impressive and pristine vintage Coach collection I've seen to date on youtube. I applaud you. I'm envious lol. Following your channel now. Have a great day.
Wow! Thank you so much for such a wonderful compliment! And welcome to the channel, glad to have you in our community 🌹 have a wonderful day my friend!
I use the Cadillac leather lotion but I was thinking about using the apple care..any thoughts on the Cadillac leather lotion..have you ever used it? Thanks for your help girl!!😉
Hi friend, I have used it years ago on my LV canvas and a few other pieces but never used it on vintage Coach bags, I stay away from anything with waxes and oils that's why I only use Apple Care for my Coach pieces. Cadillac was a great conditioner for the pieces I used it on, however, vintage Coach is a glove tanned leather and shouldn't have any waxes and oils added to it. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment, I truly appreciate you 🌹 have a wonderful day 😊👍
Hi friend! When I wipe down my bags I use a clean white cotton tee-shirt type rag. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
I do the same. When they came too damaged or with many use signs, I dye them (I use the Brand Fiebings and Buffalo) but as I live in a very hot climate I do use waxes and oils. Waxes help keeping the moisture of the leather) The process for me is this: saddle soap, dye, leather oil/cream care and a waxe with the exact color of the bag/shoes. And I cant be more happy. One time I bougt a Stewardess Bag sooo damaged I fear not being capable to do something, but the poore thing was just too dry. Two sesions with oils and cream before dying it, and voila!
Hi friend ☺️👍 I love Fiebings, I've never used Buffalo brand. I have used Saddle soap on vintage Coach bags before and was told that also will moisturizer the leather as well but don't add any waxes and oils, it will break down the fibers in the vintage glove tanned leather. I do use waxes and oils on other bags of different types of leather but not the vintage Coach bags, and absolutely never used shoe polish on any bag no matter what the brand. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day 🙂👍
I'm so sorry, I did make other videos telling the danger of using shoe polish but deleted the video. But now you know not to use that crap because it will for sure ruin your vintage Coach pieces. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
We all take care of our bags differently, but I do agree 100% on not putting shoe polish on bags. As for oils, I don't know why anyone would ever use olive oil or veg oil on any bag. LOL maybe mink or neatsfoot, but there is always a risk of spoilage with any oil. TFS friend :) btw, that Devon went straight right to my heart :) Have a great weekend!
Hi friend 😀 I would steer clear from any type of oils and waxes on vintage Coach. The leather is untreated and can rot from that kind of products. Just simply use the Apple Care and your bags will look absolutely beautiful and last for a few lifetimes 😊👍 Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Hi Marcella, I would like to ask for you opinion on Cadillac leather care products as Coach brand has been out of stock for more then half year the sales person not sure when it will be restock in my country and I unable to find apple brand as well. Will Cadillac brand suitable for vintage coach bags?
Hi friend! I personally would only use Apple Care because it doesn't have oils, wax or silicone which is not good for vintage Coach leather. I have used others in the past but wouldn't recommend it. I've purchased Apple Care from eBay which there's a couple sellers who sells it brand new I'm thinking that is a third party seller but I've never had any trouble with purchasing it from eBay. Hope this helps 🙂👍 have a wonderful day 🌹
Hi friend, I'm not sure which bag you're talking about but MANY get the Janice and the 9966 Legacy Zip confused with each other. The 9966 has feet and front pocket while the Janice does not also the Janice is much smaller and no outside pockets. I have a comparison video between the two bags if you want to check it out. If you go to Google image and type in Coach 9966 you might see that's the bag you're talking about, I'm not sure but I think that's probably the bag you're talking about if not then correct me and I'll try to help you the best I can 🙂👍 Have a wonderful day 🌹
Your videos are always so much fun and informative. I am envious. 200+ bags! Your house might as well be a coach archive! hahaha. Can anyone arrange like field trip to see your gorgeous collection?
Hahaha 😄 I truly appreciate you my friend and absolutely you're welcome over anytime! Thank you so much for your support and taking the time to leave such a beautiful comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Yessss!!!! That is exactly what I purchased to touch up my bags!!!! It definitely pays to do your research on these bags. Learn the leather, take care of the leather. Thank you for this very informative video. Keep them coming. ❤😊
Hi friend! Does it need dunked? I only dunk when absolutely needed. In my experience any Coach bag older than 2010 can be dunked, I've even dunked my premium lines with liners with great results. But I don't let my bags sit around for days waiting to dry, I use a hair blow-dryer until finished drying and plenty of moisturizer. Vintage Coach and Coach today are two different brands in my opinion. I've dunked many bags from 2010 and earlier with wonderful results but anything newer than that I probably wouldn't dunk, definitely wouldn't let them soak. Sorry not much help, go with your gut is the best advice.
Hi friend, I would never use any thing with oils and waxes on this type of leather. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
I love that tan Rambler🤩🤩🤩 I’m still looking for one :) Thanks for the tips. I’ve used several from other videos to refurbish and treat my vintage Coach bags. It definitely works ✅💯
Oh no! I'm so sorry, for the life of me I will never understand why some will use shoe polish!!! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day my friend!
i know this may be a stupid question, but you said you wipe them down before and after each use. Do you use water or just a dry cloth? I've heard some people use baby wipes, but they may have some oil? Thanks, LOVE your collection!
No question is stupid my dear friend, that's many of us learn 🙂👍 I use a dry cloth to wipe down my bags unless they need a cleaning then I'll use leather cleaner and conditioner then go over the bag again with a clean white cloth. I stay away from baby wipes because like you said many contains oils, aloe etc. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Hi friend, it all depends really. If it's on a rainy day it will take longer because of the moisture in the air and also depends on the bag. I've completely dried bags in around twenty minutes and some much longer. The bags that take much longer such as around 30+ minutes I will take short brakes. But I will never let a damp bag sit, I will get it dried that same day. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day 🙂👍
🖐🖐🏾🖐🏿 Hi Friend, thanks for the tip of how the care for my Coach bag, I will apply those instructions to other bags I have, it only makes sense. I was going to comment in other videos, how you keep your Coach bags looking so pristine, but I clicked on this video, and there was the answer. In your opinion, which is best, Applecare, Coach or did you say Kiwi? Thank You, I am sure any questions I have about Coach will be answered in one of your video, if not, I will ask. Have a great weekend ❣
Hi friend, I should make a update video on this because the Coach brand conditioner is for the leathers they make today even though it says "Glove tanned leather" on the bottle, the glove tanned leather today is totally not the same. The very best conditioner when it comes to the vintage glove tanned leather is Apple Care because it doesn't have any oils waxes and stuff that can break down the vintage fiber of the leather. Kiwi is good too but like the Coach brand it's been changed with some of the ingredients. If you use the Coach or Kiwi brand I wouldn't use it but once a year, if that. But with the Apple Care you can use as much as you like and it will keep the bags fresh and new. Hope this helps 😃👍 have a wonderful day 🌹
It's absolutely ridiculous isn't it?! But so many people do it for some crazy reason. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 I truly appreciate you my friend ☺️👍 have a wonderful evening!
Vintage coach bags are so well made, most just need a dunk and some leather conditioner to reshape and restore fading. It makes me sad to see people use polish on their bags. It destroys the beauty of the natural full grain leather :(
It’s crazy what some people do to their bags. How ridiculous to put oil or shoe polish on your bags. They rot in front of their eyes, I say oh well.. lol..
Yes you're right it's absolutely ridiculous! And there's so many videos out there telling others to do it, but if you take a look at their bags it's obvious that they don't take them seriously and just don't care LOL! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day 🙂👍
Oh noooo why would anyone use food grade oils on bags?! They go rancid! 😭 Oils and moisturizers already exist for leather and many brands are affordable.
Couldn't agree more! I do use wax and leather oils on some bags but NEVER the vintage Coach bags. Those bags won't last if waxes and oils are used on them. Thank you so much for watching 😊 have a wonderful day 🌹

Thank you.
Hi friend, I'm so glad I can help! Hope you're having a wonderful day 🌹
I am so glad I found your channel!
Every video I’ve ever seen on retiring bags has said to use shoe polish 🙄 thank you for the advice!
Dear friend, trust me when I tell you that's the worst thing to use on your vintage Coach bags. Might be okay on other types of leather but definitely not vintage Coach. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Rolling your straps and putting them inside the bag never knew that , this is why I love your channel ,so much info. 👜😊
I'm so glad I can help 😃 Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day my friend!
@@vintagecoachcollector thank you so much. Your bags are beautiful and I hope my blue Maggie will also! 👍🏻
Thank you. 🌼
You're so welcome my friend 🌹 so glad I could help! Have a wonderful day!
You have over 200 vintage coach bags?! Oh girl can I come for a Tour 😅

Hi, may I know how you use the kiwi dye to touch up on your bag. would appreciate if you do a video on it...tks
Hi friend! Thanks so much for your support 🌹 hope you're doing well and have a wonderful day!
I've seen a lot of people use Saphir shoe creme, which seems to be more of a conditioner with dye than a polish. Is that okay to use?
Wow! You’re such a wonderful resource .I love using the Coach leather conditioner, too, on my vintage Coach and any of my other bags, too. ( it brought a Balenciaga City bag that I purchased on Poshmark back to life!)
I can’t imagine using any kind of oil, because I’d worry about smells and my bag getting sticky. 😩
Hi friend, Thank you so much for your support 🌹 yes oils and waxes can make a bag sticky too you're right, that's because it's braking down the leather. Glad you are taking care of your beautiful gems ☺️
Have a wonderful day 🌹
@@vintagecoachcollector Hi I have a question about the leather cream and wax in general. If they will make leather stiff, why are they invented in the first place, claiming that it will add a protective layer? Thank you! And what is your opinion of adding a seal on old coach (I think most bags are finished to protect the leather? Correct me if I am wrong). Thank you!
Is it ok to use saddle soap?
Hi friend, yes absolutely! But make very sure to rinse the bag well afterwards. I only use saddle soap if I'm out of the Apple Care cleaner or Coach brand cleaner. But saddle soap is fine if you rinse very well. Thanks so much for watching and I hope you have a wonderful day 🌹
I only have one vintage coach bag that I recently acquired. Glad I used your tips including the apple care conditioner. Thank you!! You are so helpful. Have a great day, friend :)
Hi friend, I'm so glad I can help! These bags are true gems and deserve to be treated as such 😊👍
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
What do you wipe your bags down with?
Thanks once again for some great tips! I can't wait until you do a storage closet video, wow, over 200???!!
I'm one of the subbies who told you about miss repeat telling her subbies not to take their bags serious and to use shoe polish lolol
Reason why her bags look the way they do and she said it's because they're vintage they will look like that.
Gotta laugh!
Hi friend ☺️ I think most use it because they're told it's okay and they really don't know any better. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day 🙂👍
I never could understand the shoe polish on handbags!
There's a youtuber telling people not to take their bags serious
and she admitted to use shoe polish
and claims to have authoritie on vintage coach
Hahaha such a fool.
Thanks for your great content
YT needs more people like you!!!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment, I truly appreciate you 🌹 have a wonderful day 😊👍
Thanks for responding!! I think I'm gonna take your advice and try the apple care! 👍😉
What do you wipe your bag with?
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day 🙂👍
I love your advice! Wish I've seen this before I dyed a wristlet using shoe polish 😔 🤦♀️ lesson learned!
I'm so sorry, I did make other videos telling the danger of using shoe polish but deleted the video. But now you know not to use that crap because it will for sure ruin your vintage Coach pieces. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Can you do a video giving tips for buying vintage coach ? Like things you look for and what to avoid ?
Hi friend, I think I have a video on this unless I deleted, if so I can make another one. Have a wonderful day 🌹
We all take care of our bags differently, but I do agree 100% on not putting shoe polish on bags.
Just simply use the Apple Care and your bags will look absolutely beautiful and last for a few lifetimes 😊👍
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Hope this helps 🙂👍 have a wonderful day 🌹
What is the black bag in the the back that resembles the Janice ? I’m so interested in having one but I don’t know what it’s called 😩
If you go to Google image and type in Coach 9966 you might see that's the bag you're talking about, I'm not sure but I think that's probably the bag you're talking about if not then correct me and I'll try to help you the best I can 🙂👍

I’ve been perusing the RUclips’s..I don’t think my Maggie is vintage, but the question is, can I clean it and immerse it like the vintage bags?
Olive oil!? Oh no! I use Cadillac conditioner right now but I wanted to try Black Rocks - i heard it has coconut oil though.

I’d gotten a 1960’s white saddle bag, when I’d gotten it, was covered in shoe polish, completely ruined! I was heartbroken. 💔
No question is stupid my dear friend, that's many of us learn 🙂👍
I use a dry cloth to wipe down my bags unless they need a cleaning then I'll use leather cleaner and conditioner then go over the bag again with a clean white cloth. I stay away from baby wipes because like you said many contains oils, aloe etc. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
Hello, curious when you use hair dryer to dry how long does it usually take to dry a bag to 95%? Thank u!
Hope this helps 😃👍 have a wonderful day 🌹
@@vintagecoachcollector Thank you soo much, I will follow your advice

It's absolutely ridiculous isn't it?! But so many people do it for some crazy reason. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 I truly appreciate you my friend ☺️👍 have a wonderful evening!
Vintage coach bags are so well made, most just need a dunk and some leather conditioner to reshape and restore fading. It makes me sad to see people use polish on their bags. It destroys the beauty of the natural full grain leather :(
Agree 💯 my friend! I just don't get it. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🌹 have a wonderful day!
It’s crazy what some people do to their bags. How ridiculous to put oil or shoe polish on your bags. They rot in front of their eyes, I say oh well.. lol..
Yes you're right it's absolutely ridiculous!
