    "some crazy crap like that" Bless you, I just watched a video where the person used shoe wax and watching it was instant dread and anxiety. Thank you so much for this extremely helpful video. I have been wanting to touch up the corners on my crescent bag, but I have been too scared to work with the analine leather.

    So glad I kept all my old Coach bags because now I’m officially vintage! Followed your instructions and used acetone then Fiebings black dye on my well-loved black Companion Bag. It looks great again! Should I follow up with their Bag Kote or just condition the leather? Thanks for sharing your expertise.

    Hi friend. I have a Coach Sutton bag that I bought from a consignment shop. The bag is beautiful, I just hate the color and I was wondering if it is possible to re-dye Black. Can I use the method that you show here using the Acetone and the leather dye?? Can the Sutton be re-dyed???

    Hi, I just got a bone painted waston bag and find this vedio very helpful! But there is also some mildew inside and outside (maybe under the painted layer) of this bag. And I want to ask some questions if you don't mind:
    1: Should I dunk it(with white vinegar) first or use acetone with it first?
    2: I wonder Is this process right? acetone - dunk - leather conditioner - let it dry - dye - seal it - leather conditioner?
    3: Do I always need a Resolene after dying it? Or I don't need the Resolene if I use the LOW VOC dye?
    4:Should I use feibing's Resolene or feibing's BAG-KOTE on the sealing process? Cause I find there are types of sealing product from feibings.
    Sorry I have so many problems, because this is my first time try to dye a bag and even worse it's moldy! Thank you very much for sharing your experience~~~

    • @vintagecoachcollector
      @vintagecoachcollector  2 года назад

      Hi friend! First, if the bag in deed has hidden mold GET RID OF IT ASAP!!! That's probably the reason it's been painted. Paint is very different from dye. I would never paint a vintage Coach bag, it seal the pores and in time the bag will be a hot mess. Dye is like a stain which doesn't seal off the pores. I've learned since this video I don't need to seal dye on these types of bags, but definitely when I paint a different brand of bag just so the dye doesn't come off on to my clothing. Acetone open the pores up to take the dye or paint better, I always dunk after using acetone. But if you suspect mold, any mold I would definitely throw the bag away! Hope you're doing well and having a wonderful day 🌹

      @yuanrural5730 2 года назад

      @@vintagecoachcollector Wow thank you very much for your fast reply and the info you shared! I will try to confirm whether it's moldy or not when I dunk it. If it's not mold, I will try to dye it! Also I'm surprised it doesn't need a sealing process! Wish you have a wonderful day too! ❤❤❤

    • @vintagecoachcollector
      @vintagecoachcollector  2 года назад

      If you find out it's not mold, strip off the paint acetone will help. If it's mold it will be blotchy dark spots on the leather. 🌹

    • @vintagecoachcollector
      @vintagecoachcollector  3 года назад

    Thanks for this video! I dyed the edges of one of my bags and it looks so much better. I do have a question have you ever redyed anything white? The only product in white of fiebings is acrylic dye and I don’t know if that’s going to give the same effects or completely change the quality of a vintage coach.

    • @vintagecoachcollector
      @vintagecoachcollector  3 года назад +1

      Hi friend, yes I have dyed a white bag before but not a vintage Coach. I would be careful with the vintage Coach bags because you most certainly can change the leather. You can always buy another one if it doesn't turn out, but if it's a rare bag I wouldn't use just any kind of dye, is dying it a dark color a option? I have done many times with vintage Coach bags even changed the hardware before but never dyed a white bag white, I have however dyed a light color to a dark when it comes to the Coach bags. Hope this helps you in some way. Have a wonderful day my friend 🌹

      @@vintagecoachcollector it’s a black court bag with white trim. I was looking to purchase it but there is wear on the white so I was planning on dyeing it but they don’t have white on the low voc fieblings dye. Thank you for always responding to questions! Hope you are having a great day!

    I followed your instructions and dyed my 9060 black last week. I let it dry for 48 hours and used a soft cloth to buff the excess dye then applied a thin layer of the Apple conditioner. But it seems like I still have problems with dye transfer. Did you ever have that problem? Do you have any ideas for getting rid of the dye transfer?

    • @vintagecoachcollector
      @vintagecoachcollector  4 года назад +1

      Hi friend, depending on what type and kind of dye you used you will have to use a sealer such as Resolene. I've never had any transfer problems ever and I only use dye that's oil and wax free, same with conditioner, however, the conditioner such as Apple Care or Coach conditioner seals in the dye. Give Resolene a try it does work. Thanks so much for watching and comment 🌹

    Hello friend, I am wondering if I can used acetone on a black bag and just condition her after? And if she looks bad I guess I will dye her.

    • @vintagecoachcollector
      @vintagecoachcollector  2 года назад +1

      Hi friend! Is it a vintage Coach? I wouldn't use acetone on any other. Are you trying to strip the bag? Acetone will open the pores and prepare the leather to take dye better, and it does strip off paint and shoe polish etc. Yes always moisturizing after acetone is a critical step or the leather will dry out and that will be a problem if that happens. Hope this helps, stay safe and have a wonderful day 🌹
