Just purchased a used Willis in tan. After watching your video, I feel more confident in the process of making my bag happy again. Simple and to the point is how I like my instructions. Thank you for sharing.
I loved watching this! What a beautiful piece. This took me back to about a decade ago when this was my hobby for a little while -- rehabbing Coach bags. It was so fun and so satisfying!! I actually wish I still had some of mine, they were sold off for whatever reason, probably because I needed the space.
I have a Willis in black that I bought new in 1995 and sat neglected at the bottom of a storage container for the better part of 20 years. I finally took it out after watching one of your rehab videos (red backpack) and rehabbed it. And now I have it in my rotation. Until I watched that video I never knew about dunking. Thank you so much for putting these videos out.
let it soak in warm water sounds so scary, but the result looks great! I have the same bag I got from eBay over 10 years ago for like $15, I have not used it for a long time and have actually thought about cleaning it up again. Thanks for the tips!
Wow. The purse looks beautiful. It looks as good as when it was new. I passed on that very popular purse back in the 90’s for the other unstructured, slouchy Coach purses. Great rehab video 🎉
Don't know how I missed this. I've been thinking about dunking my '94 Willis. I was worried about the dowel. Mine has good shape and minimal corner wear, but it scratches from the gentlest contact, which I think has to do with being dehydrated. As it stands, I tend to avoid using the bag because I don't want to damage it.
Quirky Amazing love it 🥰 I heard you talk about this video on Caleb’s live but wow what a difference. You have some skill and patience. Thanks for sharing 🙏👛🛍️👛
Turned out great. I rehabbed a Willis, but avoided dunking the wooden dowel (top portion) just to avoid damage, I’ve seen people damage theirs when dunking. I like to use Blackrock on the piping (it helps darken the leather and camouflage wear).
Blackrock is a great product as well, but I tend not too use it much Because it does darken leather. But it's great for black bags (for me)! I wasn't concerned about the dowel due to my water temperature and how long I was dunking for, but I totally understand being careful
I still don't dare soaking a bag 🙈 I know I should if I want to reshape it and clean it properly but I'm still afraid 😬 Maybe I'll try with a very beated Dooney I bought a few days ago since it's an old design without lining 😅 Was wondering if it's a bag with lining you do the same steps 🤔 Cause I've been buying some pre-loved bags and only been cleaning then with a dump cloth and then moisturising the leather and filling them with old towels to reshape them, should I give them a proper bath as well? 😁
@@classicswithaquirk she didn't arrive yet, but glad you told me not to dunk it cause I was thinking in doing it 🙈😂😂😂 Think I definitely would love more videos from you giving tips and tricks about pre-loved bags and how to bring then to their best 🥰
My heart just about stops when I see someone throw a leather bag in water, but the results are worth it - what a transformation.
😂 I know the feeling! And I'd only do a dunking like this on certain leather bags. But it's so satisfying!
It’s always a better idea to use saddle soap

Thank you for watching, Jane!
Great video! Never knew you could submerge anything leather into water like that.
I freaked when she did it.
@@tara_nguyen I know! When nothing bad happened, I was shook.
It's only certain types of leather I would do this with! All leather, unlined vintage Coach is one of them 😁
You aren't supposed to
What an informative and entertaining video. I have heard of the ‘dunk’ before, but never saw it before.
Thank you for watching!
I love watching your rehab videos! Thank you!
🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for taking us along! Great transformation!
Thank you, Anja! ❤️
I love the end product! What a difference but my heart jumped when you dunked the bag, lol! Thanks for sharing ❤
😂 I get that a lot! Thank you for watching!
How lovely it ended up! The water was so dirty!
Yes, it really needed that bath!
I ❤your rehab videos coz you make it so simple and easy to follow along. Hope you make more rehab videos!
Thank you for watching!

That's so awesome!! Thank you for telling me ❤️❤️❤️
The before and after is amazing.
Right? It looks like a whole different bag!
That bag looks really good, you did a great job on that, definitely interested
Thank you so much!
I hope you enjoyed this video! How do you think the bag turned out?

If you're concerned about fully dunking, you can also do a partial dunk, or skip the bath and just use leather conditioner for the scratches!
Did you dunk with the dowel? This is my worry right now too

That dunk was so satisfying 😂
😂 I was proud of that part 😂

Don't dunk a Dooney! Their leather needs different kinds of care. I also do a different process for bags with lining. What you're doing is great!
