I have been restoring vintage coach bags recently and you can wash the really dirty ones in dawn and water. Let them soak for 20 minutes or so. You can scrub the inside with a brush to loosen all the dirt. It takes a couple of days for them to dry out completely...remember to stuff them to keep their shape. Then I use conditioner to moisturize the leather. You wouldn't believe the difference! Beautiful collection!!
I've done this successfully, they have no problem with it and look great afterward!
That's only recommended for bags without lining.
@kellenh737 what kind of conditioner do you use?
These original leather coach bags last forever, I have several and I still carry mine. They still look good after over 20 years old. Love the video.
I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?
I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Kohen Trevor instablaster :)
@Ryan Ernesto Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out now.
Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Ryan Ernesto it worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much you really help me out!
@Kohen Trevor Happy to help :)
Yay 😀 I really enjoyed your collection... such beautiful bags 💼 I really enjoyed watching. I love love vintage coach. Thanks for sharing babe. The vintage coach bags are really good quality beautiful bags. 👜💼♥️
I got a lot of my inspiration and information from your channel. Beautiful collection! ♥️
Have Louis Will Travel Well your doing great babe. Your collection is beautiful ♥️ I especially love your little red crossbody bag. So cute. The classics are so gorgeous. Have a great Sunday. 👜👜👜
The British Tan is almost impossible to get flawless as a vintage item, you definitely have to be comfortable with the patina but I've come to really love it! I have a Winnie and Post Pouch in British Tan and just adore them as summer bags, the Winnie is really tiny but I love the little top handle. The back pockets are on almost every bag and for me, I just find it's so convenient to be able to put your phone there, and some modern bags just don't have that option. It's what keeps bringing me back to the vintage Coach bags. And the turn lock, there's just something about it that I adore!
Fabulous collection! Great purchases. You can’t go wrong with vintage Coach. TFS😊
Josh James has an excellent video on washing and cleaning Vintage Coach bags. I’ve done it on mine & they’re amazing 🤩
I enjoyed your collection video. I recently purchased and restored bags for myself. I was able to buy bags I owed 20 years ago. It is a fun hobby. Thanks for sharing your beautiful collection.
Great video, I love the resurgence of the love for Coach... I too am enamored with the older, vintage bags - the Rambler is gorgeous!!
You have a great Coach collection and have kept your bags in beautiful condition! I’ve always loved the original Coach bags and miss them. Txs for sharing!
Hello, the brush you mention is a brush for suede items. The white square is like an eraser for stains on suede which is why it’s white. The rough edges on the sides are for raising the nap on suede and unfinished or raw leather. Use it gently as the brush part is wiry. I also use the Ugg products on everything, including all of my Stuart Weitzman boots! You have a beautiful collection. I too have a few vintage Coach bags which I adore. Enjoy your wonderful collection. I love your channel! I’m do glad I found it.
Thank you so much for the information. I am finding myself enjoying the process as much as the products and there’s no better feeling than bringing something beautiful back to life. And I’m learning so much through this community and thrilled to find others who enjoy this kinda thing. ♥️
Very reasonable purchase prices and the condition off the bags all look excellent! Thank you for the video!
I love your collection ! I've always loved Coach Bags, especially the Vintage bags, I bought a few bags from Etsy and I use them all the time ! Thanks Laura 🍂🍁
I don’t know how I missed your videos on vintage coach last year. I am late to the party but way, way down the rabbit hole. 😳😬. These videos have been so helpful and I love seeing the variety of bags. I hadn’t bought a Coach bag since the early 2000’s. Heck, I haven’t bought a contemporary designer brand bag in over 5 years. Feels good! These bags are classic!
They are all beautiful bags Laura, but my favourite was definitely the red one!
Thanks for the tip on the freshener! Even dunking hasn’t removed that musty ole vintage smell on some of my bags.
They do stand the test of time. Nice collection.
Your collection is so cute. The Rambler and the Court bag for me are the must convinient crossbody bags ever.
I adore your collection. That red colored bag is gorgeous!!!🙏🥰
I LOVE the sustainability of this! I also had the Scooter in red and will have to see if I can revive it - TFS 😊
Thank you for your video! I'm looking to get a Rambler next and wondering where it'll hit me when wearing crossbody (I'm 5'10"). I was surprised when my Legacy Small Flap came it hit me much higher than anticipated. I agree on the leather quality! I started looking for vintage coach after years of disappointing modern coach purchases (even with their boutique/retail line). I remembered my friend's coach Duffle bag from high school and started hitting up ebay wondering if there were any bags circulating and wow, what a rabbit hole I went down! I was delighted to find that they could be washed and reshaped. I think it says a lot that Coach is re-selling their own classic vintage bags at high prices (and I'm dubious that it's out of concern for the environment, lol). I can't imagine Coach ever choosing to make bags with this quality and construction ever again; I'm sure most of that is just the reality of today's market but makes these bags extra special. Thank you and beautiful collection!
You have a beautiful collection😊thanks for sharing👍🏻
Really nice collection! Love them all ❤️
Hey nice seeing you here my friend!!! I haven't seen a better collection from yours yet LOL i all over these vintage Coach videos!
I've just bought my first vintage Coach city bag 1987-1994 (not sure which of these years) in british tan and I am already eyeing up a scooter bag in red like yours!! I think I've caught the bug now
I just bought my first vintage coach bag and it's just beautiful. It's the regina in british tan. It was made in the 90s. I think I need more.
Hi! Just found your channel! I just started a collection of vintage Coach bags. I love restoring them, too! Great video!
I love vintage coach bags I still own a few
Coach will clean your leather bags for free. At the beginning of the year I took several of my vintage bags in for cleaning and polish..
Great to hear that!
You’ve inspired me to pull out my dark green Court bag. Not sure it fits my lifestyle now but it deserves to be cleaned, conditioned and then admired!
I have a dark green Court bag I purchased in 1992 from the Coach store on Madison Avenue in midtown Manhattan near Grand Central Station; “Forest Green” to be exact, as opposed to the ever so slightly lighter and more green “Bottle Green” which Coach introduced about a year or two later. Their vintage leather bags are almost indestructible, lol.
@@jxyjayjxy Unbelievable...I also bought my bag in 1992 (Nov)! However, mine was bought in San Francisco either at Macy’s or the Coach store on Post. I think my bag is also Forest Green as it can pass for Black in any but the brightest light. Think I paid about $200 which was very expensive for me. Ah, the good old days! ❤️
Nice video.
I’ve been occasionally scoring vintage USA COACH leather bags at estate sales. Got two for $10.00 each and my favorite larger all leather for $8.00!
You have a beautiful Coach Vintage Collection
Very nice collection🎉
Thank you so much 😊
I have the scooter bag in British tan, which was my first designer bag purchase, back in 1990. You make me want to pull it out and start using it again! You and I are the same age btw (I learned this in your Jones Road video). So happy to have stumbled upon a fellow collector of vintage Coach. My favorite style, which (like you) I also have in two colors, is the stewardess bag.
Obsessed with vintage coach!! Currently have 3 but I always have my eyes open at thrift store/estate sales for them. Love your collection :)
The British tan color so beautiful. I always wanted one and also the Mahogany too. Nice collection.👜 I still have some of the Classics ones. I want to sell them. But, I feel guilty 😹
Beautiful collection!
Hi Laura - just found your channel - I'm liking it whilst career changing / personal development - thankyou !
Wow.. beautiful collections how i wish you shared any website you buy this bags..
Most of my vintage Coach bags were purchased on eBay and Poshmark.
I love those cleaner freshener recommendations. Do they still work pretty well for you???
Yes, I’ve used for a lot of preloved items and it definitely helps.
Rambler in British Tan is on my wish list
Lovely bags! New subscriber.
Thank you and welcome!
I recently fell down the vintage Coach rabbit hole too. I also have an issue with needing multiples of the styles I love. What is that about?😆 For me, it started with the Winnie (probably due to the Willis 18 release) and quickly snowballed from there.
Thank you for sharing your vintage collection with us, great collection! I own a coach city bag I purchased in 1992. It's in great condition!
Hi, your ramblers are called 'Ramblers Legacy' bags Style #9061, black and mahogany. The penny bag you mentioned is very rare, its not called a 'Penny' its called a 'pocket purse' dont use coach cleaner or moisturizers, they have silicone which is actually bad for leather...instead use lexol leather cleaner and apple moisturizer...and brasso...Yuck! Try Wizards metal renew for your brass it smells like hand lotion and works better. I have 2 FB channels you are welcome to join for vintage coach info and tips.
I have managed to buy a Coach Madison Gracie bag from ebay. The leather is almost similar to caviar leather I think.
I just bought I believe a vinage coach bag. It is a suade and colour sorta close to plum. Not sure how to tell if the bag is real or not. Did coach bags come on suade.
I'm all over vintage Coach bags!!! New subscriber in the house!
Ps, you don't wanna use coconut oil on your bags!!!!!
They will turn rancid and rot in time.
Stick to the Coach moisturizer.
Welcome and thank you for the tip. I’m learning a lot from others in this community when it comes to caring for vintage Coach and I’m so happy we’ve connected!
@@alittlebitlaura I'm learning something new every day about the vintage Coach bags ;)
Hello I have a question! I recently picked up a top handle bag that looks exactly like coach but it doesnt have a creed patch. Do your vintage bags have creed patches? Or do some of the older ones not have them? Thanks
All of mine have had the creed but I read somewhere that older vintage bags didn’t have it so I guess if depends.
@@alittlebitlaura nice thank you!
Hi Laura, I love this video. Thank you !
I am also in this time a big Coach handbags lover 😁 But I am thinking to sell my Regina black silver hardware and my Regina dark brown gold hardware.
Both are in great condition.
I have also for sale a Coach Madison Carlyle 4401 made in Italy in a sort of Vanilla color brand new from my mother.
Still love them but too much is too much.
If you have any interest, please let me know.
I do- where are you selling them?
Allison Sulouff Hi Allison ! On eBay and Vestiaire Collective. Thank you
I love vintage bags but where can you find them.
I purchased most of these on Poshmark but eBay and Etsy are also great.
I have a bag..it has a tag inside coach purse g9e-7002 ...and ingrave top left corner has like a X what does that means..is genuine? Or fake... Thanks
I’m actually not familiar with the x but you could probably take it to a store to authenticate.
Hihi dear!! Lovely collection and always love supporting your channel. Amazing review today and hope you keep up the mutual support? 🥰😍
Hey friend! Nice seeing you and the vintage coach collector here!
I'm heading now over to your channel to binge watch!
@@abbyluxemburg8968 ahhh new video isn't up yet, just filmed it today and doing the editing for it.... but it's gonna be good!
@@LifewithLokie i love all your videos! Waiting patiently my friend :)
@@abbyluxemburg8968 awww so touched! I do spend time researching especially for this mega video! Just need to take some photos for the thumbnail!
Which conditioner/polish do you use to restore the shine to yr coach bags?
I use Coach leather moisturizer to condition and it works great.
Thank you!
Where do you purchase your bags?
I purchase from multiple sources - thrift, consignment, poshmark and eBay.
How the heck can you find these for such great pricing? I was about to pay $200 on Etsy for one.
The bags I’ve purchased have needed some TLC but if you’re willing to give them some love, you can find some great deals on Poshmark and eBay.
About a year or two ago, Coach rereleased the Dinky bag at, I think, $400! Don't sell yours!
👍❤❤❤
Do you have any bags for sale
Not currently.
I'm several months late, but BIG NOPE on the coconut oil! Please don't even attempt a test run with the stuff! One of my friends did, and the oil became rancid and stank to high heaven. She tried food grade and cosmetic grade, and they both went bad. It's simply not an oil meant to be used on leather. I'm parroting another comment, but Dawn is the way to go for deep cleaning. The 20 minute soak method never fails. Not only does it remove smells, but it helps plump up the leather and the drying process is the perfect time to reshape bags. I've done the following with over a dozen vintage Coach bags and it makes a great difference every single time:
1. Fill a (clean) sink or plastic bin with warm water and add a squirt of Dawn dish soap.
2. Submerge the bag for 20 minutes. During this time you can use a toothbrush to scrub inside and out, loosening any debris. Some of the color from the bag will bleed into the water, but this is nothing to worry about. The bag will still look fresh and beautiful when it's all done.
3. After twenty minutes, drain the dirty water and add fresh warm water, no soap. Soak the bag again for 20 minutes.
4. Drain the water, give the bag a final rinse off.
5. Pat the bag with a towel to remove excess water, then use rolled up hand towels to stuff the bag. Drying time is usually about 3 days, less for smaller bags, but if you can leave the bag outside on a sunny afternoon this will speed up the process. Remember to move the bag around during the drying time, once or twice a day, so it can dry evenly.
6. When it's dry it's time to condition! I personally love Leather CPR for glove leather. It soaks in fast, leaves no sticky residue, and helps the bag return to soft flexibility.
7. You can finish there, but I like to add a coat of Blackrock conditioner or Obenauf's leather preservative. Both of these contain oils and wax that deliver moisture and protection against water, heat, and abrasions. These are also very helpful for buffing out light scratches. Rub in with gloved hands or a microfiber towel and you'll be left with that soft glow that vintage Coach bags are so well known for.
Thank you so much for the info! I ended up using the Dawn method, followed by conditioning with Coach leather conditioner and it worked like a charm. I appreciate the advice! ♥️
looks like a rambler legacy … it’s small ..
I have a black vintage Willis casino and devan bag
Beautiful bags.
