Well, playing in the same level isn't that hard tbh, with lots of hours and the right training you can achieve that, hard thing would be able to compose anything he has ever composed haha, i can play some of the hardest songs that most guitarrists play, but i think i would never compose something in the same level i play =/

i don't think he hates youtube, he just doesn't like to have a video of every performance he does uploaded... he's not always 100% happy with what he played and understandably doesn't like to have those bits circling the nets. i don't think he ever disappoints, but he has high expectations on himself, so i understand that :)
Just one thing: Why isn't any of his guitar solos up there on that Top 100 guitar solos till now? He has surpassed People like slash, petrucci. Acoustic is hell lotta tough than electric. GUTHRIE is god. Hands down!!
Because those guys have created great albums and Govan hasn't. They are more well rounded musicians, Govan is an incredibly good session guitarist. When it comes to actually writing music he hasn't really produced anything that phenomenal. Take his solo project Erotic Cakes for instance. There is very little there that non guitarists would find interesting about it. Govan works best with other musicians directing the concept and style of the music. His own music sounds like generic You Tube backing tracks with solos over the top. Incredibly good solos, but it takes more than that to produce a brilliant album.

I think something is wrong with modern music system. The best guitarist, and very good singing, and most of all, this music is very touching. How come I just found this? and out of 17000 people, only 200 people liked it !!! Not only it's hard to find a quality content these days, garbage clips/musics ruined modern world people, unable to tell "This is the music."
When guthrie just noodling on the guitar in an interview he makes this weird noises and just non-sense but when he improvise on a song its always mind blowing, always a pleasure to hear.
It seems odd to me that I'm saying this given the lack of technicality but, this is some of Guthrie's best work. It's a shame the guitar part isn't longer. Guthrie is the kind of guy you kinda want to hate just a little because he is so dam good but, you just can't hate him because he is so dam good. Plus, he seems to have an excellent personality and a lack of shitty ego which, by all rights, he could have were he so inclined.
If it helps, you can download a free app called JamUp, and you can slow down the song all that you want. That's how I learned it (except for the solo, haha). It's a difficult song, still!

Every Guitarist has " missed a note " in a live performance ( at one time or another ) and that includes: Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson, David Gilmour, Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, Steve Howe, Tommy Emmanuel, Steve Stevens, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Al DiMeola, & Carlos Santana = All Phenomenal Guitar Players ( among many others / not mentioned ). Still an Awesome Performance.

SNAKY Good old Payne! I used to think he was the absolute embodiment of pop-prog 1980's cheese vocals until I heard Max Bacon with GTR- but Payne is most certainly more dramatically overwrought. Ech.
Guthrie is outrageously talented, but there are better acoustic players. Tommy Emmanuel, for example. I think that's what his comment was getting at...

I have never heard an acoustic guitar played like that- incredible.
