I was glad to hang out with Guthrie before a live a winter some years ago. He was sitting alone smoking a cigarette and I accompany him smoking a cigarette too. He gave me a soulful smile...also gave me the impression of an extremely humble person.. He sure CAN play but I think that he is not in the shity GOAT trip ...
Guthrie your so talented and its no exception to who Albert Einstein was, its an eye opening listening to your music, thank you from Bougainville AROB PNG... ♥️
Anyone know what kind of acoustic guitar govan is playing here? Pretty neat sounding! But i guess govan can make even a heap of rust tied to a case sound good.
Thomas He usually uses a J200 Gibson & this not that guitar but it is a Gibson i just don't know what model or year it is. Sorry i can't nail this one down other than it is a Gibson. It may be a J-45 they made for his as they usually don't have the inlay he has on the headstock & fret markers.
@@SirCommoner True, he does have a decent hand size and strong fingers, its apparent in lots of clinics and interviews he does. An amazing human, and extraordinary guitar player, Guthrie is one of a kind!
I wonder if Guthrie ever just thinks while going about his day like man I’m the shit I can outplay anyone on this earth. Had to have thought that at LEAST once no?
Love Guthrie Govan - he is next-level Phenomenal. Sadly the singer "Moves-around" too much on stage. He introduces Mic-bumps and additional unwanted stage-Noise to a majority of their recordings? He is always readjusting something??? I do like him vocally though.
"moves-around" suggests you think he's doing something else. He is literally moving around, you don't need to put it in quotes. Also, it's fine. A couple of bumps. It's live. The mic's in the way, so he moves it. He gets comfortable on his seat. But fuck no, that's not acceptable for Michael Caz, who only gives a shit because John Payne is backed by Guthrie Govan.
I know Gutherie is one of the best guitar players in the world but honestly I'm surprised and a little dissapointed he's not able to tame the beast a little bit when playing an acoustic. It's just not a speed instrument.
@@DaveDexterMusic you literally just made my point for me. He plays it just like an electric, but it's **not** an electric and in my mind shouldn't be played like one.
@@DaveDexterMusic just like Glitch said, he has a style and he is playing that style on acoustic, he might as well just plug his electric in... acoustics work for finger work and not really for picks unless you are this kind of guitarist: ruclips.net/video/1KN2qvtosmM/видео.html
No matter how I love Guthrie's playing, I tend to agree with the comment. Some of the speedy passages in this record sounded buzzy (e.g. 5:02), especially compared to amazing clean play which Guthrie Govan outputs on electric guitar. I'm convinced that this slide on 3:37 would came fluently and effortlessly on electric as well. Here is a good example, in my opinion, of how relatively fast passage on acoustic can sound - ruclips.net/video/NJ2NinBvBT8/видео.html ruclips.net/video/NJ2NinBvBT8/видео.html Having said that, I totally admire Guthrie's versatility as a guitarist.
Everyone says he plays different styles, he can play anything...well the only thing I hear in this track is Guthrie playing his style on acoustic guitar instead of electric, lets hear him play another style..like travis picking for example, I reckon you all get carried away with his super fast bluesy solo's , don't get me wrong he can outshine the best with his improvisation but his style is a bit fixed....versatility is more exiting and if he had video's like the one below to show us he would be a better guitarist ruclips.net/video/1KN2qvtosmM/видео.html
A better example would be Tommy Emmanuel on acoustic .Pretty good on electric too, but not he "shredder" style. Guthrie on electric and Tommy on acoustic. Pretty much as good as it gets.
@@davidbrown3971 just looked at your profile pic and your IQ tells me that you wouldn't know a master of guitar full stop so stick your 8 track Dolly Parton on and keep on trucking....cause that's all you look good for....stupid hillbilly
I’ve never seen him play acoustic. I think he’s the best guitarist around, get teacher and very humble
Eu também acho 🇧🇷
Guthrie, a true virtuoso ! Nothing more to be said...
JUST SIMPLY AND COMPLETELY PHENOMENAL VIDEO..GUTHRIE GOVAN IS JUST A GUITAR-STAR..
stupidly clean playing even on an acoustic
Seriously, he's easily on par with bluegrass musicians
@@oldtimetinfoilhatwearer he far exceeds most of them.
Maybe gauge10 acoustic string..
This comment is underrated and certainly underliked!
could listen to this solo over and over..just killed it

Wow Mr Govan nailed it
Great voice

Never get me bored Mr. Guthrie 🙏
I'd like to hear Guthrie play Mediterranean Sundance with Al Di Meola!
Perfect rock voice.

Guitar was made for Guthrie🤘
Wow,,,,just brilliant GG....
The guitar definitely took a cigarette break after this lol
Lol a thoughtful comment.
outstanding
Guthrie Govan plays the Guitar Very well !!!
No shit!
Yeah man he is great!! 🤘
He does
what really?
Oh cmon😂😂😂
This singer must be in a power metal band
John Payne comes from classical rock. He is a well known song writer and never sang in a metal band.
He was the lead singer for ASIA for 15 years.
@@ejaysgroovygalsguys9234 Guthrie was also in Asia, album is named Aura

Perfect song!!!
Are there more videos of this song? other versions?
A fully auto machine gun busting rounds!
Who else just fwd to Guthries solos?
oh god they gave him an acoustic we are doomed
Formidabile
Do you think Guthrie plays a lighter gauge here than on a standard acoustic?
I think _maybe_ judging by the somewhat thinner sound, but then again his hands are huge strong meaty machines that do whatever he commands

the singer is superfluous
someone have tab? or gp ? tkss

He's a very humble man.
Maybe he just cares about making great music. Which he seems to do effortlessly.
As below. It's Guthrie. Not guthie. Big fan?
Transcribe that..
Guthrie *
No sé cuál de las dos, pero hay una guitarra desafinada.Parece ser la. Del. cantante en los graves. y la de Guthrie en los agudos. 🤔Es algo molesto.
i didn't know Brad Pitt could sing... he plays guitar as well

I think Guthrie’s G string is a little flat.
