It's really great that you've now done a few videos on the G425's, demonstrating some of the finer details. As one who has one on order (coming from G400 LST), I could watch these all day.
My G410 LST has the weight on the toe and it definitely mitigates left misses. I'm going to give the G425 MAX a go for ultimate forgiveness with the same fade biased flight. Great video.
That was pretty definitive. Understand that your path and face are the biggest influence but the weight is having an effect. I was leaning towards TSi for my new driver but Ping 425 has changed my mind. Will get a fitting as soon as possible !
I have played all Titleist for most of my life. In 2020 I started missing Fairways. which is unusual for me. it got pretty extreme at times. My uncle who is a huge golfer urged me to try the Ping Driver. It was the G410 at the time. Fortunately, I took his advice because like me, I know he's a big Titleist guy and there must be something to the Ping if he was urging me to try. And I'll be damned if it wasn't the most forgiving driver I've ever hit my life. I just could not miss the Fairway ... no occasional snap-hooks, just Fairways and an occasional small Miss in the right spots. I had overlooked Ping for nearly two decades! Previously, the last time I swung a ping Club was when they had the first titanium driver in the mid-to-late 90s... Ping has gotten so much better and their Woods are as Good As It Gets! One interesting thing I've learned about the Ping company is they will *never* *ever* put out a product unless it is actually superior to the previous version. It has to undergo rigorous testing and prove its worth of being more forgiving, straighter, easier to hit and overall better than the previous Edition. That means PING never puts out a model just to sell you something.. Recently they just came out and said they are not going to update the g425 for probably 2 or 3 years and their i-210 irons have been out since 2018 because the pandemic and they are having trouble making anything better... Anyways, that was my blabber! Now I played TaylorMade irons Ping driver, three-wood, hybrid and 1 wedge... Scotty Cameron Putter and two Vokey wedges .. all that for you to tell me you didn't end up getting the Ping, right? What did you go with and how do you like whatever you chose?
⛳⛳ Out of all the offerings this year... I'm loving PING. Most forgiving with good spin rates. To be honest the three offerings from Callaway are a bit confusing to me as far as what type of golfer each offering is targeted to ⛳⛳
Keep the new intro. I like it! I would like to see you hit it against LST with weight in the toe/fade position and the hosel set in the upright position. I think you’ll be bombing center fairway 320.
Cool vid…I’d love to see you optimize this club for you and walk us through it. Order some weight configurations from PING (lighter/heavier), hot melt or put some cotton to mute the sound, try some different shafts, and toy with the settings. See where you end up since you have such a consistent delivery - I bet you could find another 10-15 yards and make this club all “yours”.
Thanks Michael, you've produced a great video here! I recently noticed that my G425 Max 10.5 Alta 55 has been supplied with a 29g weight, not a 26g weight. I notice that other weights are available to purchase, do you have any specific advice for a regular swing-speed, mid-high handicapper? Thanks in advance, much appreciated!
Mike what’s your thoughts on adding an extra weight to the G410, one in the middle and one in the fade/draw, bias, then perhaps counterbalancing the shaft?
that head would be really heavy then. Ping driver heads are really heavy to begin with. So you might wanna try a shorter or a lighter shaft to keep the swing weight, but the total weight might be too heavy for you. But the extra weight you add might be reduced by the weight in the middle.
Since your face angle was 2.5 closed to the target line in the fade setting but your shots all went right that would mean your club path had to be out to in quite a bit, correct? I didn't see the club data but you could have adjusted unknowingly to the changes in the CG.
Surely playing around with the lie angle would also influence the direction of the ball flight almost as much as moving the weight. I really like the new Ping Max driver, but I can’t imagine there’d be any more distance gains than my Ping G driver, so for now I think I’ll save my money, I don’t need more new clubs sitting in the cupboard that I can’t use due to lockdown 👍
So what if I add the difference between G410 moveable weight and the G425 moveable weight, was it 6 grams? So like putting some lead tape on the screw and move the weight on the G410 to the draw setting will I see an even bigger effect then on reducing the slice?
Great reviews mike as always. Just wondering I'm currently using g410 sft hitting it straight if a little high 10.5 degree going for g425 max does degree matter 9 or 10.5 as they are adjustable? Tks mike.
Hi Mike just seen this clip...so got a question for you...I’ve previously had a g400 not the max driver since 2017...loved it and was hitting it well probably averaged 250-260 ish and the odd ones would go further...fitted with a 50gm Alta cb shaft...I’ve just been fitted to a g425 max...so I was told I was spinning the g400 over 4000 and once fitted with a 60gm ping stiff shaft an inch shorter I was spinning at less than 3000... now I was reading that if you shorten the shaft u might have to weight the head more...I’m hitting it a country mile atm couple drives measured over 290 but it can be wayward a bit sometimes and seems more wayward than the g400 was...would weighting head more with the tungsten make a difference to my dispersion...weight currently in the heel whereas my g400 was set up neutral...would be interesting to know your thoughts...cheers phil
I've moved my weight into the heel and flying straight as an arrow no more fighting it going right loving it
🙌

Very informative. The more I read about the G425 max, the more I want one. Ha ha.
Thanks. I’m keen to see the same in the new Callaway drivers pls.

First Comment!! yeah - nice video as always - keep them coming
Great video and explanations! Keep up the good work!
Thanks
Interesting video. Would be curious to know how the weight in the Draw position on the Max would compare to the SFT.
SFT has more weight in heel. I’ll be doing a SFT video soon
@@MichaelNewtonGolf thanks - look forward to seeing that video.

Yes lie is also another way. Using both together can make a big difference
Looks like the positions are fixed, meaning the weight is all the way one way or the other? No sliding the weight in between?
Will you be testing the PXG 0211 line up? They look awesome.
Hopefully getting the driver soon
Have you always had such a smooth tempo or have you had to consciously work on it over time?

Good vid Mike.
Question. With 26gr, what does the swing weight work out to be? Hi D's??
D3
But how will that effect in the lst as the weights slightly lighter isn’t it?
Can you tell me if you go with a shorter shaft do you get a heavier weight at the back or is it another method please
Yes heavier
So I fade the ball, do I set weight in draw poistion ?
Yes

If you lower the loft from 10.5 to 9 then it will slightly open the face
That's great thanks for the reply mike
How does this driver with the weight in the heel compare with the Titleist TSi3 with its weight in H2?
That could well be another video
@@MichaelNewtonGolf Ping G425 SFT vs Ping 425 Max in draw setting would be interesting too

I wonder what would happen without the weight?
Head weight obviously drops and so will swing weight. Ball speed will drop too
Looks good though👍
sounds LOUD!!!
Ball speed is as low as I’ve seen from you in a 2021 driver. Forgiveness yes...long....no
Its not a track, its just 3 positions.
Oh sorry 😂
