Scottie wasn't that great at guarding 1s, especially fast 1s, and flat out struggled defending big, tall PFs like McHale, Coleman, etc. He was consistently very good at guarding players from 6'4"-6'8" who were too slow to get by or couldn't elevate over him, or couldn't bully him in the paint. Dominique Wilkins, Kemp, Chris Mullin, and K Malone lit him up many times.

Yet since the “Last Dance” documentary came out, Pippen has been saying all sorts of crazy things, about how MJ was “selfish” in retiring after the bulls 1st 3-peat. How Phil is a racist.
Heck, Scottie even came out ( before the Last dance) saying LeBron is greater than Jordan, which he later on flip flopped his statement a few times after getting some backlash.
Pippen was a great player on the court, no one should doubt that! but he seems very disturbed and lacks self-confidence off the court. As if he feels he still has a chip on his shoulder to prove something, as if others speaking of him as being Robin to Jordan’s Batman is somehow disrespectful to his career? No one thus far in NBA history can be measured up to Jordan, not even Lebron at this point of his career.
Pippen needs to stop putting some of his closest “comrades in battles” ( MJ and Phil) down just to elevate himself to the spot light.
When it comes to 6 championships in Chicago, MJ always credits Pippen and remind others that He won all those rings with Pippen as a tandem. even at his hall of fame acceptance speech, Jordan opened by saying Pip was there in every championship he’s won.

At MJ hof speech he said pips name one time never mentioning his greatness.. MJ allegedly apologized to pip for talking down about him several times in his documentary.. MJ wasn't rooting for the bulls when he retired he wanted pip to fail miserably.. He didn't get the awards because he didn't have the media deals, but he was the best defender in the league. He could score any hand from anywhere, he ran point directing his teammates and finding them with passes on the money. He wasn't a selfish ball hog worrying about his scoring stats, he was a team guy. Scottie was the best on the Bulls.

It helps to have the best player ever on your team. It helps a lot. But it still takes a team to win games. And it takes a good team, with several good players, to win championships.
Forgetting about Scottie Pippen is a newer thing. In the 90s, when the Bulls were unstoppable, people were talking about MJ, for sure, but they were also talking about Pippen.
