Blonde hair is determined by a recessive gene. This means that a blonde male can be 100% certain of his paternity if he mates with a blonde female. It does NOT mean that the non-blonde cannot have a blonde child: some ancestor in the past could have been blonde.
Not surprised to hear some of your comments about preferences. All my female friends who projected a fragile child-like image that needs protection had absolutely no problem attracting men (even very "high value" men), even while seeming very emotionally unstable, and in many cases conventionally unattractive, even sickly looking. However, the relationships didn't last at all, precisely because of their fragility and clingy nature. My female friends who looked more independent, adult-like and very emotionally stable really struggled attracting men, even while being far more conventionally attractive than the fragile ones. Some are close to thirty and still haven't managed to date anyone.
My opinion is "Who cares!" Women have preferences also. I've never been attracted to blond men because most of the ones I've met seem to be overly confident and full of themselves. I've always liked dark-haired men. Everyone has a preference as to what they deem attractive.
Brilliant, as usual! 🌟 I've said the same and been shot down for it. Glad to know that I can bring receipts from studies and burn my opps down now lol Thank you for validating my experience of life as an independent, intellectual blonde woman. I'm incognito as a brunette now and it has slightly helped the incessant harassment I am regularly and randomly assaulted with by males that assume that I'm instantly available for their physical gratification. Basically since I was born. Although, most humans seem to be treated like this regardless of looks. Unfortunately in my experience, when these non compis mentis get rejected, no matter how politely, they actually get violent. It's exhausting! Oh, to be perceived as more than an object to possess.... is it actually possible in this world? Personally, I've never witnessed the "protective instinct". Unless jealousy is a toxic manifestation of it. Sooooo looking forward to entering my Crone era where I can only wait and see how much the awful, creepy creatures will leave me alone. (Deep sigh of relief) Probably time to get a few cats 😉😆

About half of my ex girlfriends were blond. I don't think I actively pursued them, because the most beautiful girlfriend I ever had was African American with brown hair. But even after her I sometimes wound up with blonde women. But the strange thing is that every single time I had a blonde girlfriend, several of my male friends would come to me with false complaints about their behavior, no joke. I would usually end those friendships because I suspected they were trying to drive me away from the blonde woman because I'm Eurasian and I suspected they were being racist. In any case I didn't need male friends who wanted to clash with me over my girlfriend if my girlfriend wasn't doing anything wrong.
It is disheartening that so many men live in shallow assumptions but this is more great information of yours to know. As women age- we may have been born with blond hair that darkens as we age. We then see our “sparkles” grey hair show up so our colorists blend our grey with highlights so not as noticeable. This is why we go more blond with age. It is most definitely NOT because we are promiscuous. This is hilarious in a way that people are actually so programmed. Thank you for al of your wisdom and educational insight you share with us. 🙏
I had asked my uncle why when men dyed their when they got older they always died it black and he said they always wanted black hair and they where dying it anyway.
My hair color is distinct from the majority of residents in this country. One young male told me he wanted to dye his hair to my gray-blonde color! Two colleagues have touched my hair and said, "I like your hair". I can't seem to move stealthily in public....
When I was blonde many of my male coworkers commented that I looked “nicer”. In my job I approve other engineers documents and sometimes had to be mean to them.

wow sam vaknin i need my entire personality studied by yours truly, i believe i wouldn't need a psychologist anymore if i had someone who could explain everything in such great detail. great video!
The final “group sex” had me 😂.. This is a simple topic, yet quite deep and interesting. Kind of makes sense. This however would be a generalization, as I have never really been attracted to blondes. Brunettes/Brown/Black hair has always been attractive to me, even when I was younger than 30. I am also wondering if a particular race is attracted to the same? I am mixed Asian/Caucasian, and have always been more attracted to Asians. Perhaps because it’s my Mother’s side?
Really interesting to hear the science behind it. I also feel validated because you mentioned my theory as to one reason why “gentlemen prefer blondes”. The bit about blondes appearing younger and healthier being appealing from an evolutionary perspective. Because as a hairdresser I have observed first hand the hair darkening with age. Women in particular instinctively want to stay blonde so they get highlights, etc.
Blonds and brunettes can BOTH be beautiful, but her hair color does NOT matter as much as her personal attributes. MANY M prefer W who have pleasant personalities, emotional stability, appreciate reciprocity, and have the potential for self-awareness. The PROBLEM is that there is a RISE in W who almost intentionally reject those characteristics, but still EXPECT to EXTRACT as much as possible from M. Not to mention, if M point this out based upon their experiences, they are often SHAMED, or she will blame-shift to absolve herself from this realization. That is WHY so many M will appreciate her beauty from a distance, but will largely AVOID interacting with her to AVOID problems, expectations, and expenses.
Prof. Vaknin, please can you say smth about paranoid PD? It seems like paranoid PD have a lot off similarity with NPD and with personal history of those people.
Thank you for the informative video, Sam! This wasn’t a topic I was expecting but was very interesting. As a natural blonde, you may have just convinced me to go brunette 😂 Sounds like blondes are preferred for all the wrong reasons 😳
Entertaining and well fun to listen to. Blonde hair is rare but most men marry dark haired women. So in fact brunettes are preferred to blondes, ultimately, as you have pointed out. Would have been even more entertaining if The Law of Attraction had been woven into the professor’s remarks. Maybe in a follow up video.
I prefer dirty blondes. No not in that way. I mean light brown/golden colored hair. It's the same as my hair color. Blondes just don't do it for me. I would prefer a dark brunette over a light blonde.
Technically “dirty blonde” is referring to an ashier/cooler toned base color, not necessarily darker. Cool toned blonde doesn’t reflect light as well and so appears darker. Also referred to as “dishwater blonde”.
Almost every man likes redheads with pale skin, it's actually the most common thing. Unless you are from a country where there are lots of them, like Ireland. But everywhere else they're super popular.
But Sam, what about Brunettes? I was waiting for that half of your video and it never came. Maybe that's an indication lol. There must be something we're sought out for.
Brunettes (especially Women with dark hair) are perceived as more confident and strong in character. Honestly I just think blonde or brunette these are all stereotypes
I think it's not really blonde hair but a set of features some natural blonde and red haired women have that's preferred. The neotenous/healthy ones probably play the biggest part. I think dyed blondes like Emilia Clarke look better with their natural brown hair color and i was born blond, i still got blond and red in my beard so i guess maybe i'm supposed to prefer blondes? 😂 There's actually very few blondes i find genuinely pretty but those few are very much so such as the actress who played Luna in Harry Potter-Evanna Lynch (it's ok i guess, she's 2 years older than me so i guess i can avoid being taken by the FBI), Gwendoline Christie looks great and a lot younger with longer hair and there's a tv personality from Hungary you might not know-Ibolya Csenge or Candice Hutchings who might not be a natural blonde or maybe she is, very likely might be i'm not sure but they are all good looking anyway. I mostly prefer the typical Celtic look-brown or black hair and pale skin-like Cinzia DuBois, redheads-like Scarlett Johansson, i also find Asian women particularly good looking(with Ancient North-Eurasians and Neanderthals being some of the common ancestors of Asians and Europeans it's no wonder why some East-Asians and Europeans even look alike somewhat), i don't have a certain type but that's where my interests gravitate to. But if i would have to choose a type i would say either tall and skinny or short, hair color itself plays a smaller part.
The answer is freckled pumpkin redhead, when it comes to true gentlemen of refined taste. If it's a pick between the two then it is the one who talks less.
Blonde (or light hair in general) signals fertility (female) among white demographics. That's why natural blonde-haired women turned brunette (or dark haired) as they age. Same with natural blonde-haired (or red-haired) boys, they turned brunet/dark-haired as they reached puberty due to testosterone - hence the women's preferrence for "tall, dark, and handsome."
Yes there was a study but I'm not sure how well validated it is, meaning if it could be replicated enough times with the same result. Not many women are actually natural blondes though except for the Scandinavians.
Spoken like a blonde :))) How would the color of hair strands have any relation to what's inside one's skull? A racist study obviously :) If you take blondes from wealthy backgrounds and most will be for reasons unrelated to intelligence then sure. But that would be because they're wealthy not blonde.
Blonde hair is determined by a recessive gene. This means that a blonde male can be 100% certain of his paternity if he mates with a blonde female. It does NOT mean that the non-blonde cannot have a blonde child: some ancestor in the past could have been blonde.
A better question would be "Are women with blue or green hair more likely to be mentally unstable / have a psychological condition?".
