- Hyperia Closed AGAIN after getting stuck on the lift hill with riders for over one hour! Hyperia opened for around 2 hours before closing for the rest of the day. However I did manage to get a ride and join me as I share my initial thoughts and opinions on this highly anticipated ride, ive been waiting to get on for ages! Hyperia has not been the most reliable ride so far, with it reopening a few days back, its been a extremely rough start for this new Mack rollercoaster 236ft high!
Luckily I had a Hyperia fast track from when the park gave them out from the saturday when it didnt open, without this fastrack I would not have ridden before the ride closed! Lets hope that Hyperia remains open and gets more reliable as time goes on and no construction/hyperia updates are needed!

Okay so I was actually on the train when it broke down at the top, I was at the back right next to the stairs and it was so cold. I still had a blast though just messing around and singing and just being there. I felt bad for the girls in front of me and my dad though, they were panicking. We did get like £120 worth of free stuff in pretty sure, I would still do it again aswell 😂😂😂
It is good in 1 way. People pay £60 to walk up big one at blackpool. If going on merlin card worth it .
I like how all the main RUclipsrs that have been documenting this ride from the beginning are nowhere to be seen when something negative happens. Very selective to keep Thorpe Park PR team happy

Situation update: As I’m typing this, Hyperia is open today, currently with a 70 minute queue.
I think one of the reasons that the big one feels so big is because you're looking over out to see where there is nothing
Loooool ya comedy made me follow ya big up yourself also I love rides but I don’t think I would be riding this rollercoaster can you imagine being stuck in the air for an whole hour 😢😢😅😅
I rode it yesterday morning. Truly worth the wait. Fantastic coaster in both design and execution. One shot fast passes sold out immediately on the app. Lucky for me, I was a single rider so I skipped the main queue and got to ride it 😁 Shame about the malfunctioning issues though, I feel for those waiting for ages just to be told it was shut for the day

This is exactly what thorpe park didnt need to happen.
Hyperia is 23ft taller than The Big One, so it should feel taller.
Think its because you overlook the sea on Big One
Why did Thorpe Park not just get another B&M? Either the floorless model or a speed coaster - either one would still pull in the crowds and of course be totally reliable.
Basically they wanted the height record but didn't have much space or money, and mack are the only ones making proper hyper-twisters these days, the latter is necessary to fit it in the small plot of land. I think the lift hill troubles are due to it's gradient, trying to fit a hyper lift hill on a log flume plot means a steep angle and therefore a greater chain and motor strain.
The only B&M option would be a non hyper but that wouldn't give them the record Merlin demand.
The reason for the constant breakdowns is coz the German engineers forgot about how it pisses it down all the time in the uk 😅

Anyone else having luck with requesting a row they want? Just mention you'd like to go on whichever row when they ask how many in your group and chances are you may get your request, at least that's what i've found every time so far 😃
na try get a back row. it 100% beats Shambhala. the drop is like nothing else!
I really need more rides its always hard to judge from a first ride! Back row looks insane though the whip over the drop 😮

Omg I was there yesterday and it kept raining and we were there for four hours but we didn’t get on because they got stuck but we got a fast track

I don't want to risk coming to ride it as I really want to go on it and I would be really annoyed if I came all the way and it's breaks down again I would be gutted and very upset as I love rollercoasters it's a shambles this roller coaster it's brand new its completely shocking it has faults galore second time it's happened not good enough
