- Hyperia is currently stuck in the valley between the immelman and the first outerbank... the ever increasing list of problems this ride has gone through continues to grow. Thorpe Park have not released any information regarding this stoppage, but have said it was not going to open today. Who knows if it'll open tomorrow or in the next few days? Join me as i discuss.

I was here today and well, the train is still stuck on the track at the end of the day... I went on collosus and all I saw was management and engineers just staring at it
What. Even when Big one vallied they just closed the road for half an hour and winched it back. Not happened for a long while, that I know of.

I saw on Facebook that someone was annoyed because Thorpe Park didn't say that Hyperia would be shut today before they left at 6am even though it happened around 9:00am to 9:30am... what is wrong with some people...

Maybe they should install some heat generators in the station under the wheel’s chassis, so it heats the wheel compounds before the first test run, thus reducing the risk of stalling?
Colossus has this, as does Reborn. Makes sense if they want to avoid another stall when October and colder weather arrives.

Travelled 5 hrs to ride today, bit of a shame lol - got to speak to one of the engineers working on her about it tho so that was cool
I was there today too but didn't talk to the engineers. What did they say?
@@tomitankengine At the time they were just trying to figure out what the best way to get her off was - it's quite heavy to winch it, said worst case they'd have to dismantle. But I reckon they have a solution in mind now as when we returned later the whole team had left.
That said, he mentioned the solution for Saws rollbacks back in the day was changing up the wheel material so that might be how they tackle the Hyperia issue (should this not be a freak one time occurrence).
I just hope she's up and running next time I'm in the area! I'm itching for a ride! My only regret is that I didn't ask for a close up tour of the train while it was down 😂

I'm glad I got to ride it twice on Monday, on Tuesday I couldn't be bothered with the long Q's I was going to ride it about 3:30pm before I set off home up north, I was too tired with all The walking, standing and stopping for a breather due to a disability.
Oh god it popped up and I clicked straight away (I made my teacher sub)
This isn't a launch coaster, this is no plain rollback. The term is "valleyed", and it's worse. They'll have to disassemble the train's wheel bogies and crane each car off the track and put it back on at the maintenance bay.
It has a trim brake on the drop just before the outter bank, so I wonder if simply turning it off or weakening the trim brake's strength will resolve the issue.
The gravity is constant. When the train is empty it has less mass and therefore less energy to overcome resistance.
At this point, i dont want to ride hyperia anymore, its taking too longgg 😭 i dont think a coaster ever had this many problems in the past
you weren't there when the Smiler opened then, that ride was even more unreliable

HYPERIA IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING A TEMPORARY DELAY AND HAS CEASED OPERATION
Despite its short comings, this ride is still nonetheless beautiful. Once they fix its inconveniences it'll be among the greats. Also, I really like how the cart rolls to the left before the hill climb. Its almost like its bowing before sending you to fucking space.

I don't much care for the hyperia the seat design looks awful considering how fast it goes would like to see something like what nemesis or saw has as for it getting stuck that just seems like poor design to me thay have obviously tried to maximise the limitations of what is possible and I think thay have not left a big enough margin and therefore the window in witch where the ride work's with out trouble and ir difficulties is very small perhaps to small and very disappointed that a ride that looks and sounds great as already put me of

Smiler was working correctly at the time. The ride computer shut down the ride when that train valleyed, and never cleared the block section.
It was human error, by not visually inspecting the whole track, and counting the trains on track.
It required a human override, to make it operational again.
Which a ride operator did, and restarted the lift hill.

It was operating just on the edge of the max wind speed allowed. They sent an empty train out, after restarting, due to some reason. The empty train being lighter and the near max allowed wind speed seemed to have slowed the train, causing it to valley. People in the queue line seen it and were shouting a stalled train.
It seems the staff appeared unaware, and got confused by the auto ride shutdown.
Maybe the attendant on the lift hill couldn't see the train, as the layout is tight and twisty, with 10 inversions, within a small footprint.
I think the other train hit the stalled train around 50mph, causing major damage to the front car leg area. It was pushed into the seating, causing a couple of leg amputations.
It’s a problematic roller coaster at this point
