    My son just bought a 91 MR2 that was already K swapped. It's what they call the Frankenstein K. I think it has a K24 bottom end and a K20 top end. It's not turboed ( yet ) but it is built. It's making around 300 wheel and the thing frickin rips! Oh and of course it's a six speed car as well. It was built for the track so it's got big Wilwood brakes and so much suspension work I don't even know what half of it is lol.

      Hi Doug, sounds like a really nice setup. My friend Dan had a built Frank turbo'd one running 650 bhp and it's insane.

    Cheers for the video dude... really appreciated your opinion and logic sharing when comparing the GSTE and the NA K swap version. I still am in two minds as to weather I should use the Hondata ECU in my build but otherwise you've helped truck loads. Btw does your friend connect the looms up are a service or was it just a favour for you? Cheers

      Arh mate thats a really nice comment, thankyou. I chose Hondata originally as I knew nothing about Honda Engines and it was for the simplicity of being able to get it running and tinker with it myself. If I were to do it again i would probably go Fueltech or Haltech.

    • @G9RGE
      @G9RGE  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Ken, I had this dilemma when I was building mine as I had an e153 and wasn't sure whether to install it. The reason I went with the ep3 gearbox was because of the cost. I think the hux racing adapter was about £1500 and I sold my e153 for £1500 with shafts and shifter cables so that was 3k saved from using the ep3 box.
      My fried Dan's one broke at 650 bhp. It was a 4th gear pull that killed his

    • @G9RGE
      @G9RGE  9 месяцев назад

      Cheers Luke, yes you can drop it into any mr2 chassis. TOYONDA and Hux Racing sell offnthe shelf mounts

    How is the noise level and vibrations in the cabin? I’m running the softest poly mounts from Toyonda and I’m not happy with the level of creaking, vibration, and just noise in general I’m experiencing. Now granted I haven’t put my rear jute/padding cover back on so that can definitely help but I was just wondering how yours is? I’m gonna be trying to make some improvements to help with this if possible.

    • @G9RGE
      @G9RGE  Год назад

      Very bad is the honest answer and was the question I was forever asking Kswappers i knew. I had medium engine mounts and put sound deadening under the carpet on the firewall and the problem was still there. Anything above 65mph on a long run become deafening. I was planning on getting a longer final gear ratio to make it more bearable but have since sold the car so no need now.

      @@G9RGE oh no you sold it! Well I understand…I’m gonna try a few more things to try and improve the NVH because I’m really not digging it right now. Thanks for the reply because at least I know now it’s a somewhat normal thing.

    • @G9RGE
      @G9RGE  Год назад

      No not solely, there were a few reasons.
      We were planning to move house and freeing up.the money from the mr2 was needed ( this has all.fallen through now, hence buying another).
      The car just always wanted to go fast and I really like my licence

    • @G9RGE

      Not too sure, I fitted an ep3 type R dash at the same time and that all works perfectly except for the water temperature as that runs through a multiplex on the civic. There are companies that sell an adapter for it but I didn't bother as I have a tab displaying info from Hondata
