  • Planting and growing Chives from seeds on Balcony
In this video I will show you about planting and growing of "Fresh Chives from seeds" on the balcony. In this area where I live, the weather rarely gets warmer than 20 degrees in April and May, so therefore it takes longer to grow with me than what others experience in warmer places.
I have planted this time in the month of April where it is around 10-15 degrees during the day and 5-10 degrees at night.
I'm not a gardener or experienced and have never done what I show in the video before, I think anything is possible if you try, so I do what I think and share my experience with anyone who is interested in how it works.
Chives, scientific name Allium schoenoprasum, is a species of flowering plant in the family Amaryllidaceae that produces edible leaves and flowers. Their close relatives include the common onions, garlic, shallot, leek, scallion, and Chinese onion.
A perennial plant, it is widespread in nature across much of Europe, Asia, and North America.
    A. schoenoprasum is the only species of Allium native to both the New and the Old Worlds.
Chives are a commonly used herb and can be found in grocery stores or grown in home gardens. In culinary use, the green stalks (scapes) and the unopened, immature flower buds are diced and used as an ingredient for omelettes, fish, potatoes, soups, and many other dishes. The edible flowers can be used in salads. Chives have insect-repelling properties that can be used in gardens to control pests.
