This thing is great! I printed the "cheater hole" version. I gave the kids a go and didn't pay attention to which way they spun it. Any tips on how I can determine which direction would be the fastest way to get them lined up?
I haven't quite worked that part out yet, but it should be possible to determine where the rings are up to by counting turns of the knob and using the gear ratios to determine where they will next line up, however the simpler way would be to look at the bottom (there are two dots which line up every 50 turns) and start turning a few revolutions then back the other way if that doesn't work out, expanding the search if required.
