You giver the best instructions. So simple and easy to fallow. I am 74 years old I have never taken a class so enjoying and I am doing these every day.
Hi Esther, i found your exercises very helpful, in fact i believe it is increasing my lung function ( or could be wishful thinking ) i have end stage COPD 26% lung function then a nodual on my lung turned cancerous ,i am not on oxygen never have been i truely thank you for your easy to follow instructions and your calm voice x
God Bless this woman! Amazing how a video from 10 years ago is *the* most helpful for me. I'd sometimes get into this situation, and start worrying about "If I don't get my breath back soon, this is it...". And making it worse, of course. Now I'll do what she (Esther?) had taught here. THANK YOU! -- Petaling Jaya, Malaysia
After covid I struggle with coughing a lot and I used to go up two flight of stairs and go for long daily walks now I can barely walk up the stairs and nearly pass out from walking for a ew minutes- this advice is wonderful and will compliment physio i do for my back greatly. Thank you for uploading this series of videos!
Thank you so much! Your instructions are so easy to follow and make sense. I can feel the difference in my breathing and overall sense of getting stronger.
Your Video helped me tremendously with my chest pain and shoulders pain , after two days exercises all your videos, I am now feeling so much better and my pain it went away, thank you so much for all the your time and your kindness to sharing your knowledge with all of us🙏🏻
Thank you for helping me perform a better PFT (pulmonary function test). My performance was worsening & pulmonary exam was postponed for 3 months because of COVID-19 emergencies. I feel so much better using the techniques that I am learning! Great job!
Hey Ma'am,Thank you Very Much for these exercises.I have lungs problem and I found last week this and I am doing everyday and I feel very good.God Bless You.
Thanks! Recently my breathing has been horrible, and i know it isn’t medical. It’s just me freaking out about my health like I always do. And this helps me breath so much. Thanks :)
These are amazingly useful sets of videos. Just “bumped” into them out of nowhere ! I wonder where this physiotherapist is lost ? I hope she will be back with many more such videos !
wonderful this helped so much. I've been having breathing problems lately and it's stopping me from going to train. Hopefully I can do this at the gym.
Wow, I’ve tried all of your videos for exercise and i feel much better within the minutes. I have this thing where when i get wet and its windy i get a cough after and los angeles weather is weird. Its hot and then cold. Anyways i have a really bad cough, no fever or anything like that just a cough and it was getting to the point where i couldnt breathe at all and she has a video on how we get when we are tensed up and it made me aware of my posture and these exercises worked great.
Just came back inside from working in the garden. Obviously not a good idea in 95 degree heat, especially since I have MS. Came close to being overheated and did just as instructed in this video. Gasping for breath, shoulders up by my ears, scrunched up. And then I remembered her words - “Chin to chest. Relax the shoulders. Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. 4-8-8 breaths. Ahhhhh.”
Hello mam please make a video on how to overcome breathlessness while walking and to maintain spo2 level because on walking I have breathlessness and spo2 goes down I am post covid patient
thank you! I've been looking for ways to cure difficulty breathing. in the winter, I have difficulty breathing alot. I have to take treatments. I once nearly died. Thank God that I didn't. or that would've been it for me.
These are wonderful exercises! Very helpful indeed! I hate to sound superficial, but your arms look spectacular, any chance of making a video with your regular arms routine? I am 52 and trying to start a fitness program that is both effective and age appropriate.
Breathing with the accessory (chest) muscles is what triggers the sympathetic nervous system/SNS (fight or flight). Breathing with the diaphragm is the only way we are able to consciously and physically enact the parasympathetic nervous system/PNS (rest and regenerate). One of the biggest problems in bad breathing habits come from chest breathing (which is exactly what this video demonstrates). This is also called "upside down breathing", which is what is used in weightlifting and boxing to trigger the release of epinephrine and cortisol. These muscles are designed for short term bursts of exercise, not for breathing, and certainly not for rest or relaxation. When you are breathing from your diaphragm, (sometimes called belly breathing) this will trigger the vagus nerve, which in turn turns on the PNS by releasing acetylcholine (ACh) which will in turn cause you to feel relaxed.
@sistaofthemoon would you please share your source of information? It certainly sounds like you know what you are talking about and I'd like more. But, I have to admit I most often find myself breathing from the area my lungs are actually located (chest), and when doing so I feel like my lungs expand and fill with much more oxygen than when I breath from the stomach. In this sense it is on the exhale that the relaxation is achieved/felt. I suppose the breathing pattern I've established comes from being a younger athlete. And perhaps since the video combines strength exercises and breathing and not only breathing techniques it's the reason for how it is being taught. With that said, during meditation I find breathing from the stomach is very effective. Maybe both have a place and can be combined depending on what the ultimate is. Just a thought...
I got this shortness of breath after I had my operation on my ear they put a tube down my throat and everything went wrong after they removed it, now im living with this shortness of breathing I hate that very much before my operation I was breathing normally I wished I can get that back.

the reason all the wrong things happen is because your brain is not programmed properly, so we have to reboot it! RELAXATION is the key!
