Just picked up this bike and it's so fun to ride. Dare I say I got it for under 10K out the door. I'm older now but have always been a Kawi fan after having a 99/2005/2007 KX this one reminds me of the seriously fast engine on the 1999 but also has a suspension level that I haven't seen anywhere. Love it!
I think an awesome show/ article type thing would be to compare the newest bikes vs the previous year to actually show the differences. In every review to have a control group, imagine this for the 08 and 09 crf450 that’d be huge
Why would anyone buy a 450 bike with the intentions of keeping the stock exhaust on it anyway? I wouldn't care if the stock muffler looked like a can of tuna because I would have a complete aftermarket exhaust system put on it before it ever touched the dirt to begin with.
Why would anyone even own a 450 bike with a stock exhaust anyway? I would be embarrassed to take any 450 bike in general outside of my garage with the stock exhaust still on it. It's a KX 450 not a TTR 125.
Jon Benoit With the brand new bike costing around 10gs, I'd have no problem at all riding if anywhere with the stock exhaust. I don't make enough money to just but a 1000 dollar exhaust for a bike that already cost me 10gs
How are the suspensions because I really want to start jumping I feel like if I nail the jumps I could really hang up there with the pros maybe be the top 15 racer just need to keep practicing on the turns and jumps

Definitely would change suspension first no reason to spend over 600 for an exhaust system when it doesn’t give much more power for the bike. It’s only based on weight and looks which isn’t a big deal to a lot of people. Plus like said below most 450 owners won’t even use all the power of the bike anyway.

andreas stefanou not like he'll hafta deal with it, factory kawasaki can easily fabricate him a cable actuated clutch. I remember clear back in 2001 factory suzuki fabbing Kevin Windham a rack-and-pinion style clutch cuz he likes the feel of them even though the bikes came with a pushrod style
According to what the test riders said kawasakis clutch has a "cable" clutch feel. If they manage to do that is perfect. They have the best from both worlds

There's really just a few comments saying the same things over and over. Let me save you some time and summarize all comments down to Four: 1. Silencer too big and ugly (always 1st thing replaced so I dont get the point of criticizing something thats getting tossed immediately). 2. Bike/Graphics are Ugly (looks nice to my eyes!). 3. Only took Kawi 20 yrs to add Hydraulic clutch and Elec Start (some people are never happy). 4. Still not as good as KTM (Fanboys who 99% of do not even ride). There you have it folks: The Sheeple Have Spoken lol!!!
Who cares. Fours strokes have killed the sport. It's no longer cheap, family friendly fun. You now need $12,000 and a computer and personal mechanic to work on it. It's absurd.
I can put 100 hours on a 450 before it needs a top end rebuild. My old KX125 had about 4 top ends and a bottom end by then. Get over it. It's the way the sport has headed; these bikes are so much faster and better than they were 10 years ago. New 2 strokes aren't even that much cheaper than the fours anyway, so I don't know why you are saying all this. If you wanna dirt hack go buy an old TTR or KLX 250. If you want the best, then you have to buy what the market demands...
Looks like shit. Looks like 2 bikes mixed. Side plates like ktms, shrouds look like older kx 125/250s, fromt fender still looks dated, same with front plate. Exhaust looks stupid long and if you were to loop it for whatever reason...bye bye exhaust. Most people will swap out the slip on. Hopefully FMF or Pro Circuit can make it tuck nicely behind the plate with the end cap showing. Would still buy a KTM/Husky or a YZF.

Totally exiting - hydraulic clutch, electric start, more power, .... ohhh wait - like a green KTM only 20 pounds heavier - and still you will burn down the clutch in a matter of seconds in deep sand. How and when will the japanese bikes ever come even to orange??? In 2040 or what???
