    Just a reminder that, privateer Ty Masterpool with a stock Kx450 engine beat many times the Factory Ktms and Husqvarna at the nationals.
    Those who believe that they need more power to go fast with a 450 don't know what they are talking about.
    Ken roczen and Jet lawrence bikes are definitely not the fastest dirt bikes for a reason.
    Smooth and linear power is what we want.
    We ride dirt bikes not street bikes

      There hasn't been a truer statement made 👍

    • @motocrossaction
      @motocrossaction  Год назад +4

      You make a great point! Most riders can go faster on a slower bike. However, Ty’s bike wasn’t stock like this, he an FMF system to start outdoors and then switched to a Pro Circuit system later. Exhausts make a big difference and Kawasaki told us that we’d find a lot more power by throwing an aftermarket system on there. The KX450SR from the last two years is a great example of mods that made an extra 4 horsepower, but still allowed the bike to be rideable and not “too fast.”

    • @andreasstefanou5898
      @andreasstefanou5898 Год назад +2

      @@motocrossaction so why do we talk about absolute horsepower numbers and not about rideability and usability of the engines ??🤔
      Especially for the 450s.
      I can understand the logic talking about peak numbers of horsepower in 250 engine's or 125s ( even in that categories is not 100% the absolute goal) but not for the 450s who can spin their tyres and destroy traction easily with any gear.

    • @motocrossaction
      @motocrossaction  Год назад +1

      @@andreasstefanou5898 great point! You definitely shouldn’t focus on peak horsepower and neglect ride-ability. We talk on both in our tests. The Honda CRF450 is one bike that we’ve praised for getting slower over the years because it was way too hard to hold onto when it had 60 horsepower

    Got the 2024 KX450X its honestly the best bike I've ridden in recent memory. This coming from a 22 KX450SR, the power actually lets you roll it on hard. The bike is sneaky fast, you'll be going extremely fast before you even realize it. You don't even feel the extra 5 pounds. Rode my 450X stock and broke most of my own PRs and times without even getting it sprung for me. The bike is amazingly stable, and the front brake is absolutely amazing. You can trail brake so much deeper into corners without worrying about the bike just diving. The bike got even better after ditching the AT81 tires for some MX34s.

      @@zygismeskauskas4602 Because I already have the 2023.5 KTM 450 FE. But she is soo busy in the suspension, extremely shaky in the tracks I ride SW Florida (extremely stiff). I am not a pro, just vet that is physically fit and working on technique. She really wears me out with how much headshake I get. Powerwise, I can't comlaint, that KTM is a beast, but I find myself shifting too much. Would like a bike that I can ride the gears taller. Considering the CRF450 WE, YZ450F, maybe the 23KX450SR.

I felt I could finish a 20 min moto consistently but with my KTM, at 7 mins... I'm already squeezing the living hell out of her because the shaking is too much.
